The plastic angel ornament is from a very popular episode of Doctor Who called “Blink.” They’re called Weeping Angels, and in the series once you see one, you have to keep your eyes on it at all times or risk a very unhappy ending. It’s a good thing you left it there! 😂
The green apple dish was made by The Hazel Atlas Company and it was accompanied by smaller apple shaped bowls. It was sold as a dessert set or salad set.😊
We’re you supposed to display it somehow when not used especially with the pretty bottom
@@julielumsden5184 , the pretty bottom was made on the older ones and not the newer ones. It wasn’t for hanging; it was just a pretty embellishment.😊

Just a guess. Maybe the green apple bowl is what you would use to make pie pastry. Then, when rolled out, you would stamp it . Apple pie.

We used to make them out of the old Sears Catalogs! Angels, trees etc. then spray them with gold paint

Yes on collectors plates. I just started collecting, and have been hanging them around the top of my kitchen. I'm particular, but I love them!!
The Apple dish is vintage Tiffany picked one up awhile back
No collector plates won't come back. But there is an awesome wreath that can be made with them.. It's beautiful. I will see if I can find the tutorial as it is something those of us who love the look of the collector plate can recycle them.

The Swedish wood plate is actually Norwegian. Word for word it translates: Eat, drink and be merry. Thank your God for every day. The pattern is similar to a traditional Norwgian style of painting called Rosemaling. If it says Bergen, that is a large town on the west coast of Norway.
Yup perfect translation, my family came from a small town just down the fjord from Bergen
@@lanniek5360 I live in the southeastern part of Norway, not far from Oslo. Not at all as charming as the west coast unfortunatelly. They have the most majestic fjords and mountains.

If you like a collector plate get it, who cares if it is "popular" or not - plenty of things are "popular" that fall out of favor very quickly. It is a decor item that will NEVER go out of style for someone who LIKES it!

How many people collect things today? The minimalist, the lover of tiny homes, the camp life follower of collecting moments not things, those people are growing in numbers. And there is really not a “movement” to collect anything in general. Maybe expensive, purses or shoes and again not a “general movement.” Also the “collector plates” for example where made to be collected so they made many right? That will make them easy to find today so why should they be “expensive” 🤷♀️ I am not a seller, as a customer I am with Danny I buy “memories” but I also know my family doesn’t care about my “memories” so all those things will leave when I leave. ☮️🙏😊 Sorry I had a tough day maybe that’s why I am in a philosophical mood and a not very positive one about this topic. 😢 but writing my thoughts got me in a better mood.😊 So thank you Danny for the video. You always inspire me. No matter the topic. Thanks and Sorry 🤷♀️
We made those angels in Girl Scouts in the early '70s. We used magazines...also made Christmas trees in a similar way.

I used to make things out of folded books years ago. I do believe we sprayed the paper with something to make it stiff.
That large round cookie mold is for shortbread! I collect a few Fenton plates and collector plates that catch my interest!

I love Vegas Goodwills. I went to mine today in Denton, Tx...all Christmas was culled. Coffee cups culled and platters and various dishes.....culled. Our store never runs the dishes on sale. You would think putting it on sale might help. I was so depressed. This video makes me feel better. I love you saving items.
I have one small thrift store in my area that’s reasonable with prices, the rest are ridiculous prices. On Ontario Canada
We have several Thrift stores locally. Goodwill's in the area are thinly staffed. Never put dishes on sale. We have one store that never puts anything on sale. We have 2 nicer thrift stores who are reasonable. I went to one Goodwill in Vegas while there and picked up several items. The Good Stuff thrift store was the best. Wish it was closer.
The angel at 22:12 is actually a Weeping Angel from the British tv show, Doctor Who. It's a christmas ornament. :-)

As for the collector plates, they most likely will not make a comeback but surely will hold a special place in those non minimalists Gen Z’ers, hearts. lol. ( likely my grandkids generation, ‘ cause my kids could care less, lol ) looking forward to seeing the rest of your amazing treasures!!
The Nauvoo brick is from Illinois. They sell these as souvenirs and also sold larger ones to fund the building and restoration of Mormon sites. Joseph Smith and family lived in Nauvoo for a time, and he was killed not far from there, in Carthage. It's a place that LDS members are encouraged to visit and volunteer.
That green powder puff box is soooo Hollywood regency and the wooden coyote was awesome!! ....LOVED that Talavera MOON🌛 (I would have had to pick that up) and the comps are pretty good on those!
Oh my gosh! My youngest is an otter 🦦 lover!! He would adore the otter sculpture ❤. I love the hymn angels. My mom made Mr and Mrs Clause years ago similar to these with Readers’ Digests. ❤

Hey Danni, looked fun. Next to the yellow candle sticks, there was another tall elaborate one that was embellished with red. It matched the shelf and pretty mirror you were looking at.
One more small thing: I don't usually say anything about picking up fur, or any other controversial item from our past but the roosters fighting is my invisible line it seems. You might not have noticed because I think I've heard you say you didn't pick up stuff like that. Anyway this was said with all due respect you have a blessed day!

For collector plate, I think it has to do with what the collector plate is portraying. I collect particular ones that I am interested in, and I think the Fenton ones at some point may make a good comeback. I have to thank you so much for your videos, I purchased my first Mexico art deco pottery mug for a 1.99 and resold it for 10! Ive learned so much from you!
Danni! Those book angels are SO easy to make! The internet is flooded with tutorials on how to make them. Me and my children made the trees last year.
Nauvoo was the town that the "Mormons" established in Missouri when they got forced out of Ohio. Eventually, they got expelled from Missouri and made their way to Utah in 1846-7 in wagons and handcarts. The town of Nauvoo currently has a presence of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with a Temple, restored homes and the graves of Joseph Smith and family. There is a little gift shop there and those bricks probably came from there. Las Vegas, as you probably know, has a large representation of LDS families.

Dani the angel with her hands over her eyes is a figure from Dr. Who a famous one if you looked away from them they got closer and continued until they were close enough to you then they would touch you and turn you to stone Angel as well. They were greatly feared and a popular character in the series. Fyi

I swear one of these days, Avon items are just gonna shoot up. They were made well and are “very American.” They have sooooo many different categories of collectibles and collectible containers. I think the men’s cologne cars may be on their way to “very collectible.” In a jar of jewelry, I found a sweet choker length Avon necklace made from small metallic pink roses with little rhinestones in each center. It was so pretty. I just decided I was not going to sell it for little or nothing….it was just too nice for that. So I had it at my booth for a number of months and in my small locked cabinet.I finally sold it a couple of weeks ago for either $15 or $18? Can’t recall just now. Not a lot, but I felt it got the price it deserved rather than just a “giveaway” price of a few bucks because it was “Avon.”

So I'm watching one of your other ones I noticed you pass up things with crazing I happen to like it but my sister knows a trick if you take it home you can try it out and use Efferdent denture cleaner and soak it in that and it will make the darkness go away of the crazing. She also cleans stains from doll clothes that way. Just a couple of tips from some Old-Timers LOL
