This is the best method for muzzle acclimation I’ve encountered, so truly thank you for that. My leash aggressive boy needs it.

We have two Dobies and thankfully haven't had to muzzle them due to civic laws or their mouthy behavior. But this video is really a smart and gentle way to train a dog to wear one. I'm saving this "just in case". I hope I never need it, but if I do, I know how to teach an older dog a new trick. Thank you.

Better to have it trained before you need it. I know your 4 years off but just saying.
With how things are in my life right now every new dog I get will have a custom muzzle once they are full grown. Easier to have it ready than end up in a uhoh

    Good afternoon,
I am the founder of Muzzled Misfits, a muzzle advocacy page. Our goal is to shine a positive light on muzzles, the dogs who wear them and owners who choose to use them regardless of why.
We currently share positive stories, success stories, and educational information regarding muzzles. Eventually we hope to have meet ups for muzzled dogs and their owners in the farm of structured walks and supervised socials (for those who are safe to do so), as well as help educate Veterinary and shelter/Rescue staff on proper muzzle sizing, training and uses.
We are trying to get more input from Pet Professionals such as Dog Trainers, Veterinary Staff, and so forth. I know you are very busy, but I would absolutely love if you could share your thoughts on muzzles, muzzle training and any other information to be featured on our page!
    Thank you so much!

I agree wearing muzzles should be part of all dog trading because you never know if it will be needed. I had my dog for several years before he needed it due to a traumatic event. I’m having trouble getting him groomed. Without a muzzle he won’t get the care he needs.

What would you do with a Buma muzzle? not able to add treats once the muzzle is on. Any recommendations? Would you start with a Baskerville then switch to Buma?

A dog has no idea or fear of a muzzle except it is an odd object moved toward his face. So gradually let him see it closer and closer and smell and feel it with snacks when he is HUNGRY! He will want to earn snacks for putting his snout in the muzzle. Take your time and HELP him... not compel him.

Or hire a trainer to do this in a few sessions. Most ppl need the muzzle asap and don't have a month to spend babying a dangerous dog
