  • Damien Alamos is a French Muay Thai athlete who has won major titles including the WMC, WPMF European and the Lumpinee title. Damien is only the second non-Thai to win a Lumpinee title and the first non-Thai to ever defend a Lumpinee belt in 2012. He has fought some of the toughest opponents around the world and been successful numerous times. Damien has fought two legendary fighters Saenchai and Orono and came away with close defeats. Damien retired from the sport of Muay Thai in 2014, however after 7 years out he is now back! Damien sits down and tells us about his life, retirement and now the highly anticipated resurrection.

    Great podcast. Really enjoying these, do keep them coming!
    I had the pleasure to watch Damien fight at Lumpini in 2009. He fought on the France vs Thailand event where 2 Lumpini titles up for grabs. Damien fought for a world title and won. Great fighter!

    I've trained with Damien in Kuwait for several months, an amazing human being. I used to joke with him during sparring and tell him I am liam Harrison and I'm here to smash you haha. Amazing podcast! Thanks a lot for this podcast!

    I notice a lot of Muay Thai athletes are very humble. You guys are beasts in and out of the ring and yet you guys are humble, such a contrast to UFC fighters and boxers here in America! Why is that? 😆

    • @JohnSmith-ei6sc
      @JohnSmith-ei6sc ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Because it’s part of Thai culture to be humble it just goes hand in hand and Thai fighters are always fighting the best not padding records lol there’s always someone better and we all take our share of losses even the best. Losses aren’t a huge deal unlike boxing and even mma these days(although I would say mma is much more accepting of losses and don’t pad there records nearly as much as boxers in America)

      Superb show. I am really thankful to Damien who in his first months in Thailand allowed my beginners nakmuays to get their own custom muay thai shorts while I was running a very small muaythai club in countryside in Sarlat Dordogne South West France. Damien is now an adult but remains so humble and respectful. Well done Damien. Mashalah. Good luck to you and remember Sarlat is still following you 😉👍
