I used to work at Pizza Hut in the 80s. Customers would often ask for the "big 2 liters" instead of the "small 2 liters." When I explained to them that "2 liter" was a unit of measurement and all "2 liters" were the same size, they would say that they received a "small 2 liter" before and insist that it was not a measure of liquid volume. I would then suggest that they might have received a 1 liter instead, but they would still argue that it was a "small 2 liter".
The story is it was A&W’s 1/3rd pounder vs the McDonald’s quarter pounder But McDonald’s is a more successful company and that’s just a cover story to excuse incompetence

McDonald's used to have these things called Snack Wraps, which were, basically, a fried chicken tender inside of a flour tortilla with different toppings and sauce combinations. My go-to was the Bacon Chicken Ranch one. Me and my sister would get that every time we went there. Then, one day in, like, 2015 or something, they just disappeared from the menu. No explanation was given for it. They were just gone. Haven't seen them since. I almost never go to McDonald's anymore. That was pretty much the only thing I liked there.
I was literally going to mention the Double Decker Taco when I saw this video title - I LOVED THIS so much! I love how it contained the mess and the beans just added a nice texture to the crunchiness. It was perfect. I also had no idea this poll existed, sob! OMG...the Burger King Kids Club. That just unlocked a memory, haha. I/Q!
I miss that Mushroom & Swiss Angus Third Pounder. That one was a favorite of mine and the only thing I ate with mushrooms. Speaking of Mickey D's, I didn't like when they removed the snack wraps and the bigger McWrap 😭😭😭.

Covid really changed the fastfood landscape. My hometown Pizza Hut used to be dine-in with full buffet almost every day. Now they have moved to a smaller takeout only location.
I 100% remember all this fast food greatness, including the Pizza Hut/KFC buffet. Maybe it's because I'm an 80s/90s kid. I was on a diet as a kid but my mom would still get me fast food...I know it doesn't make any sense. Well Wendy's had this grilled chicken sandwich with this honey mustard type sauce and Lettuce and tomato and it was my fast food treat. And the sauce always leaked out of the sandwich. It was so good!

Speaking of old discontinued fast food items, I remember having the Snack Wrap and the McWrap at McDonald's a long time ago back in the early 2010s. However, the Canadian, UK, and other international branches still has these. I even had other fast food items that are long discontinued including the Chalupa XXL at Taco Bell, Popcorn Chicken at KFC (later known as the Popcorn Chicken Nuggets), Arby's, Cheesy Tots at Burger King, Boneless Wings (I had the Honey BBQ ones) at Wendy's, Crispy Chicken Sandwich at Subway, Shiitake Kale Chicken Breast, and Orange Chicken with Bacon at Panda Express.

Can confirm they still have buffets at our Pizza Hut in Norwich (UK). Also I wish they'd bring back themed burgers- the Cordon Bleu burger for Disney's Hunchback of Notre Dame was great (a chicken burger with ham and special sauce). Also this will mean nothing to most people outside of Norwich but I wish they'd bring back Pedro's. I miss my birthday happy place.
Don't forget, Wendy's had an all you can eat buffet! They had the Super Bar, with salad, tacos, spaghetti, pudding, it was awesome! Also, McDonald's fried apple pie. It just isn't the same baked. I don't care about healthy. If I cared about healthy, would I be eating pie at McDonald's? On a related note, my wife would like McDonald's to bring back their salads and yogurt parfaits.

In a lot of European McDonalds, there's currently the Maestro line, which are basically the gourmet burgers that you are talking about, and similarly, each burger is only for a limited time. I bet you'd love them if you come over and try them, a lot of them are pretty good :)

It was around $2.99 included a salad bar, taco bar, fruit bar, dessert bar and pasta bar. It was a bargain and the food was decent, my favorite was the soft tacos, you could fill it up with a s much meat as you wanted and all the toppings with a side of spaghetti and then end it with chocolate pudding. I swear Taco Bell used to have green onions on the Mexican Pizza (several years ago) and I wish they would bring that back, because bringing them prechopped in a little Tupperware in my purse just in case is a bit much.
I actually liked when they had those alternate Big Mac sizes, one bigger and one smaller. I went to town on some of those big ones. Also, I don't know if it was just a regional variant, but I remember a version of the Big 'N Tasty where the only condiment on it was mustard, and the burger patty had some extra salt and pepper, and it was so freaking good.
Preach, I miss dollar menus so damn much. I remember when I was 12 and my mom had her night job so she'd often get me dinner off the dollar menus and one of our favorites was the Wendys chili. That was like a weekly thing for a couple years. I hadn't had their chili in nearly 20 years so I swung by there last year just for the nostalgia and ordered 2 chili. I'm thinking, even with inflation 3-4 bucks max. Those came out to like 8 bucks! 2 small chilis each like 4 bucks now. Insanity.
There was a time when I was really struggling, and I would measure everything in Jr. bacon cheeseburgers. My best friend would try to get me to buy clothes and I'd say things like "I ain't paying 20 jr bacon cheeseburgers for a shirt," or "You lost your mind if you expect me to pay a months worth of jr bacons for a pair of shoes I can't run in." And this is how I unfashionably rationed my way through the recession. I miss the security the dollar menu provided 😭

Pizza Hut Buffets were clutch. I had all the land before time toys, and I got all the stamps for the reading program that got you a free personal pizza! (The crust on a personal Pizza Hut pizza just hits harder, you can at me, but it is true. There was I wanna say a 1 year period where Taco Bell had a 5 Layer burrito for 99 cents. And a friend of mine had a standing karaoke night that started with Karaoke and ended with 4-6 5-layer burritos to split and like deal menu nachos as well. We went so often we knew the voices of the people working the drive thru and they knew us. We'd just roll up like, "It's Major and Teresa, we'll take the usual please!" It was amazing!
Kentucky Nuggets from back in the day need to come back. And Taco Bell used to have a Chilito which they sold at my middle school for just a buck. Memories!!!

We had a KFC/A&W Buffet. All you can eat chicken and you get a big frosty mug for root beer straight from its own tap. I miss it. Pizza Hut buffet with pasta and dessert pizza. It was the best of times.
Andre just described staples of my childhood and adult life. The McDonald's burgers and value meal were on point, I miss the McDLT and Big n Tasty so much, it was the same burger just repackaged and rebranded. The Angus Bacon burger was another favorite too, one of the only reasons I went back to McDonalds after some time. I miss the Pizza Hut buffets and especially since ours had the Playchoice 10 lol. Talking about bringing back the Burger King Kids Club, bring back great tie-ins at Pizza Hut too like the Kids Pack and store promos like the XMEN VHS tapes the best one you could get lol. While not that big a fan of Taco Bell anymore, I do miss the Big Beef tacos which were supposedly a foot long and of course their 69/89/99 value menus. Good times sadly gone, If McDonalds found a way to bring back the McPizza and make them like the Hot n Ready pizzas, Id buy them again. But if there is one 90's food needing to retun: the BIGFOOT pizza form Pizza Hut.
Anyone remember the funnel cake fries from Burger King. They were my favorite thing to get at Burger King but discontinued it. They were funnel cakes fries that came with frosting to dip in them. 🤤
Some of these items I really never got to experience because I was born in 97, but I will say that I miss when there was an actual 99¢/$1 menu from McDonald’s. I also really miss the snack wraps too. You should do discounted snacks that should back next! There’s TONS of delicious things that should’ve never left.

There was Pizza Hut that was across my college that had that. With a student ID, it was only $5 for all you can eat and unlimited refills on sodas.

I'm thinking, even with inflation 3-4 bucks max. Those came out to like 8 bucks! 2 small chilis each like 4 bucks now. Insanity.
There was a time when I was really struggling, and I would measure everything in Jr. bacon cheeseburgers. My best friend would try to get me to buy clothes and I'd say things like "I ain't paying 20 jr bacon cheeseburgers for a shirt," or "You lost your mind if you expect me to pay a months worth of jr bacons for a pair of shoes I can't run in." And this is how I unfashionably rationed my way through the recession.

Pizza Hut Buffets were clutch. I had all the land before time toys, and I got all the stamps for the reading program that got you a free personal pizza! (The crust on a personal Pizza Hut pizza just hits harder, you can at me, but it is true. There was I wanna say a 1 year period where Taco Bell had a 5 Layer burrito for 99 cents. And a friend of mine had a standing karaoke night that started with Karaoke and ended with 4-6 5-layer burritos to split and like deal menu nachos as well. We went so often we knew the voices of the people working the drive thru and they knew us. We'd just roll up like, "It's Major and Teresa, we'll take the usual please!" It was amazing!
Kentucky Nuggets from back in the day need to come back. And Taco Bell used to have a Chilito which they sold at my middle school for just a buck. Memories!!!

We had a KFC/A&W Buffet. All you can eat chicken and you get a big frosty mug for root beer straight from its own tap. I miss it.

Andre just described staples of my childhood and adult life. The McDonald's burgers and value meal were on point, I miss the McDLT and Big n Tasty so much, it was the same burger just repackaged and rebranded. The Angus Bacon burger was another favorite too, one of the only reasons I went back to McDonalds after some time. I miss the Pizza Hut buffets and especially since ours had the Playchoice 10 lol. Talking about bringing back the Burger King Kids Club, bring back great tie-ins at Pizza Hut too like the Kids Pack and store promos like the XMEN VHS tapes the best one you could get lol. While not that big a fan of Taco Bell anymore, I do miss the Big Beef tacos which were supposedly a foot long and of course their 69/89/99 value menus.
Good times sadly gone, If McDonalds found a way to bring back the McPizza and make them like the Hot n Ready pizzas, Id buy them again. But if there is one 90's food needing to retun: the BIGFOOT pizza form Pizza Hut.
Anyone remember the funnel cake fries from Burger King. They were my favorite thing to get at Burger King but discontinued it. They were funnel cakes fries that came with frosting to dip in them. 🤤

Some of these items I really never got to experience because I was born in 97, but I will say that I miss when there was an actual 99¢/$1 menu from McDonald’s. I also really miss the snack wraps too.

This was a nice change of pace video Andre. I lost interest in Taco Bell in the 2000s, but I really liked the Grilled Stufft Burrito. It was tasty and pretty filling for a fast food item. I wish they'd bring it back.

I seriously miss the dollar menu! I went to taco bell today. The item I ordered off the value menu was $2.50.😢 I know that's not a lot but today's standards, but I want the past's standards.
I feel a little bad cause I TOTALLY voted for the Encharito. I did enjoy the double decker as well but there was just something about that red sauce that hit different.
