Godwin is a high end possession receiver. 12-16M is an appropriate range for a possession receiver. We know what Evans is and Godwin is not that. Godwin has a year to see what Coen can bring out of him. If he gets 1000+ but only 4 to 5 touchdowns then let him walk. McMillian up next or not him, draft or get another lower price free agent on the market. We have a team full of high character guys. Cannot keep all of them.
That's why they drafted him. You can't pay everybody - and they still need to get a deal done with Wirfs. I like Godwin a ton, but it's fair to say he's not been quite the same as before the injuries - and for the Bucs to give him the $28-30m+ deal he'd want, he's going to have to prove he's fully recovered and have a remarkable year that is so good they can't let him go. Not rooting against him at all, I hope he can do it.
@@brutalasbucs9719 He's not the 2nd best WR in Bucs history, that would be Mark Carrier. Anywho, I do agree with you that Baker was mostly the issue as he's ridiculously inaccurate once you get more than 10 yards downfield, however Godwin hasn't looked as fast or explosive as he did before the injuries started to rack up. Again, I really like Godwin, I hope they can figure out a way to bring him back - but the cap is going to make that difficult. Not to mention Bowles literally throwing him under the bus last season - I'm not even sure Godwin would want to come back if he's still the coach.
With so many Bucs making in 20+(5 when Wirfs gets paid) million range in 2025, Bucs need McMillian to be the guy to replace Godwin. I just do not have the same loyalty to Godwin that I have to Evans. They should allow Godwin to test the open market and see what his value is. Hopefully it is below 18M. 27+M this year is going to make Godwin look really bad. That was Brady's contract here. 2025 we are still paying Shaq Barrett and Ryan Jensen around 12M each. They are 7&8 highest paid players on 2025 roster. Dead cap hit is even higher.
I cant get over the fact they could have gotten the same play at qb for way cheaper in kyle trask instead they pay baker 33 mil a year. The dropoff wouldbt be much if kyle got to play with yhe 1s im tellig you. Baker was throwing stupid picks all year. Pewter report praising licht for the jameis winston pick too despite what and obvious clown he was in college. Terrible terrible cap management
You seem to forget he tore a ACL. You dont even mention it. Stop crowning these rookies who haven't even played a season yet. Its ridiculous. This time last year you said the same about the rookie WRS we drafted. Just stop
@@brutalasbucs9719 McMillan was actually a co-WR1 in 2022 as I mentioned in the video. He had more catches and more TDs than Rome Odunze had that year.
It is way to early to even say this. Godwin has an NFL body of work to see. McMillan does not have any NFL tape. I want to see McMillan play some NFL games before anyone makes that decision.
@AlphariusDominatus Who me? You are talking about Godwin's contract, right? I know what is going on. But I am not to say this rookie is ready to replace anyone. He could be a bust. He may not be. Potential never has done anything. You have to see it first. So yes I do know what is going on. You are bad at assuming things. Please don't do it again.
Why every year bring it up, chris Goodwin trade talk ? So booooooring or you just running your mouth about nothing .you talking about the rookie wr ..who's not even played one game ..that's just stupid .. try focusing on some other thing

Godwin is the Second best WR in Bucs history don't blame him because Baker doesn't utilize an WR outside of his first read
Why would they ever get rid of him lets be loyal now

He's the second best WR in bucs history lol only this past year wasn't good because Baker is a one read QB, Godwin was wide open all year

The guy has been the equivalent to Evans. We've been blessed. But, Chris does all of the dirty work. He's Hines Ward 2.0

@@daviddunn7294 If he balls out like Evans did last year he'll make a strong case for the Bucs to keep him.
I didn’t no McMillan played outside most of his college time.
Yeah, the first two seasons he mostly played X (split end) or Z (flanker). It was just mostly last year he was in the slot.
gonna be running into cap issues, real fast, if we keep paying these guys more than they're worth.
Ok man Winfield is not worth 20m a year and he’s arguably the best safety in the league
No fuckin way

Exactly now people are doubting Godwin instead of recognizing Baker is a one read QB
It’s so crazy to think Chris Godwin is the 2nd best wr in buccs history. I love Chris but that’s kind of embarrassing lol
He only played 6 years
Who else is the question? Vincent Jackson? Joey Galloway? Compare the numbers
F the saints the only reason why this is a conversation is because they went RIGHT FOR HIS KNEE ON PURPOSE
If Godwin leave we are gonna miss him so much not ready for that to happen 😢

He was also 3rd receiving option... Of course he was "Good" going up against a college teams 3rd CB

Godwin ain't worth no 27.8 million. That's WR#1 money. Trade him for draft pick and re-sign Wirfs asap.
Palmer may come alive this season and McMillan can’t beat him out
The WR3 battle in camp between McMillan and Palmer will definitely be one to watch.
Never
