  • It may be the best recipe of pickled mackerel that you can make at home. It will take you just 30 minutes, then place fish into a fridge to marinate for 4 days and as a result you’ll get delicacy mackerel fillet which can be added into sandwiches decorated with greens or served as a cold appetizer with boiled potato or marinated onion.

I never understand why people ask things like this! If you have a fridge you will know how long things keep. Brining fish is a well-known preservation method. As long as you keep it covered so it doesn't dry out, then it will keep for 1-2 weeks. But why would you need to keep it that long? One thing I would make sure to do is make enough brine to cover the fish completely. Mackerel are known to have parasites and if the fish isn't completely covered then the parasites might survive. This is why the Japanese always serve Mackerel pickled and never raw.

It’s the Atlantic mackerel. Yes typically pickled or salted mackerel or herring serve with boiled potatoes or potato salad and pickles in Europe
