    That's funny, as an Australian (and Americans say this too), one noticeable thing about the UK is the absence of a Utility room. The washing machines are often in the kitchen.

    • @diimpho
      @diimpho  ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s interesting 😂 Because they definitely do keep their washing machines in the kitchen, you’re right!

    😁one adapts to one's surroundings. Such a cute video. I find the British accent & pronunciations amusing, fun & interesting. I'm American.

      Couldn’t agree more! 😂🤍 One difference the always pops into my head with American speech is how we say “trolley” and you say “cart”

    My son and his family emigrated to UK in July 2022. It took them 7 hours from Leamington Spa to a beach in Cornwall which is only about 200km away from what I can gather. Apparently the roads are congested over weekends so travel is a nightmare

    “I’ve done” versus “I did”. Traditional British English tends to use the perfect tense more often than American English. Interesting to see South African English appears to follow the American pattern.
    Tragically, this is now changing and British people are adopting American grammar. I haven’t even heard “I already did that”.

    Hi wonderful to hear others struggling with odd brit stuff. Joke is i am originally from London, so north west accents are very difficult to decipher. Happy days

  • @ca9968

    What I find odd as an English South African living in the UK is how in SA the Afrikaaner can`t stand the English but the English in England are a basic carbon copy of your average East Rand Afrikaaner...they wear socks with slops, wear black socks with trainers (tekkies) and shorts, they have a similar lazy and entitled attitude to hard work, they are violent when on the spirits and tend to be completely ignorant to anything going on outside of their particular patch of council estate...a strange bunch indeed...
    I live in a small town in Cheshire and I swear there`s a factory pumping out "Clutch Plate" wannabes here by the thousand...

    The "99" or "99 Flake" ice cream..they've been around since I was a kid. 99 was never the price (I've never heard them referred to as 99p). They were less than 50p when I was young. I'm 54 now.....inflation is shocking nevertheless! Great vid guys

    We don’t carry brollies because
    A) there is nowhere to put them when you arrive at your destination.
    B) It rains for 10 minutes , stops and then goes , stops and goes….
    C) You get drunk after dinner and forget where you put it.
    So…. bottom line…too much bother.
