Hah, that Ancient Gear list first shown is hella painful. This'll be a wild ride
For a deck whose gameplan is punching things really hard, we had a lot of surprisingly interesting duels. The game against not Goblins was especially fun to watch as Joe expertly weaves and OTK through NIbiru by summoning Chaos Giant THRICE. Every time Ancient Gears get new support they always manage to cram some weird ideas into it. Commander might be one of my favorite cards just because of how much design space it opens up for future Ancient Gear Support. The ability to activate continuous traps straight from hand would be incredibly broken in so many decks and some future Ancient Gear Traps could very easily capitalize on it. Something that I have been noticing recently, is that Joe's Audios is quite sharp on these more recent videos. Not sure if its due to the pop filter or not, but it makes it very difficult to listen to for long periods.
Oh god, I have the MBT Chaos Draft intro stuck in my head. It's there rent-free. It's been a long road Getting from there to here Played a lot of duels AND ZERO ANCIENT GEARS!!!
I was skeptical about how good this ladder climb would be because ancient gears seemed like a very repetitive deck but it turned out great, one of my favorites. I don't know what it was but the satisfying bullying of tenpai definitely helped. Keep up the good work Joe!
Ancient Gear may give you a PhD in dueling, but they sadly can't do much about a mf who dropped out of Duel Monster kindergarten and plays Nibiru in Tenpai format.
Finally Geared up to watch this one. Punching for BIG NUMBAH will never not be funny. As for episode feedback, I actually like the Proficiency Tests being highlighted in the video. It's a nice little Segway that helps break up the duels and gives a little bit of a reprieve, considering the average Ladder Climb is multiple hours.
Ancient Gears aren't cheap, but in that build you can see I'm playing like 9 N/R cards. And if you wanted to play a budget version you could swap out some cards for budget options; especially in the extra deck. Most Tenpai decks play 0 N/R cards in the main deck. They usually play 1 Trident Dragion in the extra deck, and maybe 1 other N/R synchro. The rest of the deck is entirely UR and SR. And if you don't have those cards there is no replacement because the entire engine is UR monsters.

That Cowboy Howlitzer cracked me up 😂 About the exams, I like them, but maybe you can put them in the middle of the video somehow? If they're supposed to break up the duels a little, seeing them so early breaks the pace a bit. Really enjoyed the climb, even though the deck wasn't that complex. Only through about 50 minutes but man my ape brain wonders if Machina Citadel would’ve even been possible. Ancient Gears are the one Earth Machine archetype I look at and can never feel certain what can go in that isn’t part of it. Little bits of spice or the like that an archetype like Infinitrack can happily throw in, such as trains or Machina for a unique mixup. And of course I don’t think Infinitrack or trains is exactly possible to do, but…I think it may be the only one that could be splashed in. Citadel has to be in the grave, meaning you either open it and Forbidden or you don’t and it never matters. I think the only *real* issue with being immortal (other than the potential social stress, some people really don't handle loss well and I could see the repeated losses over time being hard on them), is a gradual loss of motivation, when you have *infinite* time to do anything, why do anything now? You can always do it tomorrow, you have an endless number of tomorrows to get it done in. ... As someone who is *extremely* unmotivated by nature and struggles for months to achieve basic tasks, I assume it'd feel like exactly what my life does now, but due to existential factors instead of executive function disorder. So, you know, since there's no major change there, I'm for it =P At least when it takes me months to achieve things I won't be abstractly wasting my time, because I'll have all of the time in the world.
Are you talking about the intro? Because I bump up the contrast in that segment to make the black of my hat stand out better. I could see how it might make my eyes look baggy.

Doctor Crowler studied for 8 years to get a PhD in Dueling, learned thinking hurts, and decided to instead use his knowledge to beat people to death with big machines.
All int. build using a greatclub.
The "deck version 4.75" timestamp appears to be wrong, and is thus eating the next 7 timestamps.
Thank you so much for letting me know! I completely forgot to check.
I've gone ahead and fixed it. Good work :)
@HardlegGaming I only noticed because the tenpai joke was missing several numbers as I scrolled on the TH-cam player.
"I HAVE MISCOUNTED"
Joe plz bubala just do math the one time it's needed 😅
I was hoping to see Joe doing the Ancient Gear ultimate pound pose in the thumbnail 😔
Pose scared me for a second
The spartan helmet threw me off. I didn’t even know it was your video.
4400!4400!4400!
Finally I have been waiting for this 😊
I luv the duel exams
My Goat, beautiful video
holy shit, those eyebags. Joe, have you been sleeping at all
Are you talking about the intro? Because I bump up the contrast in that segment to make the black of my hat stand out better. I could see how it might make my eyes look baggy.
@@HardlegGaming Yes, primarily. I thought it was just more noticeable there because you had your glasses off.
Was anyone else unprepared to see him without the hat? Cause I've never seen him without it on
48:31 They are playing the Arrival Cyberse (but didn't find space for Tomahawk).
it is funny how hardleg says he likes more coplex decks followed by paloe. i wont say i disagree but many people would probably not consider these decks aas complex simply grouping them with stun as the archetype of control has nearly died out in yugioh
I run Ancient Gears, but use them as a Link only. They work better as either an XYZ or Link archetype
if this works i migth have to play MD cause i love big robot punch. I'll be back at the end of the video
PD: Well fuck i Guess im back
