Hello Claude, thank you for clarifying a lot of things around LTI 1.3 and Advantage in this video and your others. I would just like to verify that it is not yet possible to use deep linking (or content item) with Moodle as a tool provider. I have seen a ticket on Jira for Moodle that this is underway, but not specifically for 3.9. Would you have more information on that?
Hi Vincent, it's available (it may still be labelled content-item message in the configuration page on 3.9), the limitation for 3.9 is that you can import only 1 item at time that way.
Thank you for taking the time to respond. I have seen the 'Select content' button when using Moodle as a consumer, but I cannot find a way to enable content-item selection as a provider (so when the LTI-link points to an activity hosted in Moodle). Could you point me towards it?
@@vincenthummel1203 Ah! I get it. It's when using Moodle as provider! So it's not an area I am not very familiar with but I know a lot of work has got into it for 4.0. You can check the Moodle Tracker for that work at: tracker.moodle.org/browse/MDL-69542 - It might very well be indeed the deep linking flow will only be available with that release.
@@theedtechdev Ah, I thought that would be the case. From what I can see in the tracker (it seems to be in testing now) it should be released somewhere between December '21 and May 2022 so perhaps it'll be pushed as an update to 3.11. It's something we could really use, so I think upgrading to 3.11 or 4.0 when it arrives is our way to go. Thanks again!
