You made me think back to my wedding, which we waited to do until the law changed in our US state, but the point your comments drove home was that, it’s about the law or lack of legal support, yes, but really the bigger personal meaning for the couple when you can do hold a wedding like this ( regardless of if the law will recognize your commitment) is that your family and friends support you and your love. That’s my heartwarming takeaway. Thank you for bringing me back to that feeling.

As a local who has lived and studied oseas in Australia where LGBT relationships are open, the fact that you guys are are willing to push through our narrow and closed mindedness is in fact a great leap. Bottom line, genunine love needs to be celebrated, independent of sexual orientation. Congratulations from a neighbouring country Malaysia! Have seen quite a number of same sex weddings on TH-cam from Vietnam which are also openly ceremonial only. Not sure if they are '"arguably the only openly gay married couple in Singapore".....there are quite a few that i personally know of - including myself, married and open way before these two tied the knot. I think what makes them stand out is the 'influencer' social media attention they have received and their following. IMO - I think what would make a gay married and open couple really stand out in Singapore is the longevity of their marriage and if they have kids.
