And again, I must agree with you. Act I was a hasty decision, perhaps. I expected it to become a legendary live album, knowing her possibilities. But, hey, that's just me. Many people love Act I and I'm not gonna go against it, even though my opinion on it is opposite than theirs. Back then, when she sang Kuolema Tekee Taiteilijan and other songs, live...she was really shining. That is the magic you feel in her unity with Nightwish.
That is true, though I love Act 1, I still miss the magic mystery ambience she bring to the concert in unity with NW, that don't often show on her solo concert. And I think that's because she enjoys the audience so much and concentrate on her stage acting so sometime the emotion, the soul of the songs become lax...But I really don't know which I prefer: Tarja's NW or Tarja as a solo artist. Just look at how happy she is on the now stage... :(
I am most certain that you are the one to agree with me, that Act I was a wrong step to take. I am disgusted by the way she sang Oasis, Anteroom of Death, and few other songs... Because, if I took bisounours666's videos, and many others from TH-cam, I'd create 1 000 times better "Act I". I fully agree with you, she doesn't show her true talent, full power very often. It's a rare thing to hear.
It would be a hard decision to make, if we had to choose - Tarja with Nightwish or Tarja alone. I love her new songs, and I can't choose what do I like more, old Nightwish or Tarja now. I am a true old Nightwish fan, but Tarja's solo career completely got me, she shines her voice even more with each new song she records, and covers, too. Still of the Night, sung at the Masters of Rock festival...pure magnificence!
