Cinder-Ella and Prince Char-ming. Yeah, it's a retelling/alternative version to Cinderella. And it is based on a YA book, though the book is a lot different. The godmother also gifts the father and step-mother eternal love so that's why all the loathing she had for him for being poor gets transferred to Ella. And Ella and Char in the book become friends when they're younger, at her Mom's funeral and they kind of have a pen pal relationship so they already know each other before they become romantically involved later.
I had completely forgotten that I had read this book until I read your comment! Honestly, I loved the book, plus there was that finishing school plot… Maybe its time for a reread...
Anne Hathaway was born in 1982 so she would have been 22 years old in this movie. I am in my mid 60's and I love this movie. "Uncle Edgar" was played by Cary Elwes who played Westley in "The Princess Bride".
Fun fact about the actress that plays Hattie ( Lucy Punch) has always liked the step sisters and prefers to play one of them whenever she can. So far shes officially been the step sister in this movie and "Into The Woods"
Lucy Punch, who plays Hattie, keeps getting cast as versions of Cinderella's stepsister. She's great at it. LOL. I recommend people check out the deleted and extended scenes on the DVD of this movie. There's one about Ella trying to find Lucinda's whereabouts in the Hall of Records and an extended ending that gives more closure to the various characters, both of which really should have stayed.
Love this movie so much! Can’t say it enough. And yes this is a retake on Cinderella. I feel like in the early 2000s there was a lot of remakes/retellings of Cinderella, which I love that bc I always find it interesting what other ways people would tell the story but at the same time stick to the original story we all know and love as much as possible. Everyone in this movie did amazing! The stepsisters definitely got on my last nerves. Love the videos! You do an amazing job!
Let me answer to your questions : First, Lucinda is supposed to be a fairy godmother but according to Mandy and Ella's mother, she's known for giving the worse gifts. Second, Ella noticed she forgot her purse next to the place the prince bumped into her (when he tried to escape the girls) and he asked her to stay here when he goes to find it. But, because of the order, Ella was kind of stick to the floor and couldn't move away. Third,Mandy explained that she accidentelly turn her boyfriend into a book after trying a new spell for cutting his hair. Fourth, the three " witches " have buttons because Ella gave her flowers with poison ivy 😂 Fifth, about the balls, I don't think they still exist. I mean, normally there were organised by riches people for meeting potential suitors for their daughters. Today, I think the closest thing to balls are parties always organised by riches peoples (but I don't know how it works because I'm french)
Thank you for taking our suggestions.... you never know what movies / actors you could end up falling in love with unless you try something new. I'll keep watching your videos; you're hilarious, my good sir!
I have a theory for why Hattie and the uncle figure out Ella's secret before other people. They are bad people who tend to tell other people what to do, where as her friends most likely wouldn't do that as blatantly. They would also be constantly looking for ways to manipulate people and would see she was easy to control.
Awww, cool I love Ella Enchanted, so fun. Huge fantasy fan. Def the most horrible curse, to have no independence, choice or control over ur life. Thanx so much, Peace
Love this movie! Would love to see you check out Strange Magic. It's a jukebox musical, and while it's not perfect, I think it gets more hate than it deserves. Kristen Chenowyth from Wicked, does a voice in it!
ahh you always manage to read my mind, iv been wanted for you to react to this for a good while. Also just thought i’d say that you have made me laugh and smile and when i’m down you make my emotions go away. Thank you so much for everything you do.
I realized this movie manifested as my life in the past two decades… I do know a real life “Hattie” more like Chucky. Ella didn’t have boundaries, and there’s lots of narcissistic abuse in this movie. I am Raquelle from Barbie as a human since 2020. ❤
The first song "Strange Magic" is a cover of the original, this one sung by Darren Hayes of solo and Savage Garden fame. I love his cover of that song! And this is a movie I adore, it's so entertaining every time!
Of course they're going to end up together their Cinderella and Prince charming, his name is literally Prince charming or charming which is basically Prince charming, and her name is Ella and Cinderella's real name is Ella it was the stepsisters who called her Cinderella, so it's like sped out to you From the beginning and I'm surprised some people don't catch it like it's literally the Cinderella story but just has other layers on top, I've heard there's a book version as well which doesn't follow the Cinderella fairytale as closely so it's even less noticeable than in this film, I've also heard it's better than the film as wellwhich isn't surprising since books usually are.
I mean the bouquet catching and stuff is real but it's not guaranteed that you're going to get married next like heck I caught the bouquet at my sister's mom's wedding and I'm not going to get married next but my sister plans on to here soon
idk maybe ask Ella to tell an object what Edgar told her to do. Like don't tell me, tell it to this rock right here between us, "tell this rock what it is you need to do" make it a command.
“Submissive” is not only a sexual term.. probably shouldn’t come on here saying things like that Assuming I meant in that way is the only disgusting thing.. Regardless of the response I’ll just leave that there

Four times, actually! And I'm pretty sure she would have wanted to play one of the step-sisters in the Amazon Prime retelling as well 😂
@@caylynn4023really? Which other movies is she the step sister in? 😮
@@caylynn4023nvm i found them.
One is in a episode on a tv show called Fairy tales and the other one is in a tv-movie called Cinderella
This movie is 4 years older than Twilight, and this baby looks INFINITELY better than Twilight baby.

Great movie, I watched this repeatedly on Disney Channel whenever it aired 💓
Great reaction! The blond giant was played by Heidi Klum.

I just noticed the villian is Westley in The Princess Bride.
And Robin Hood in Men In Tights. Great Mel Brooks movie.

Those types of people do exist in real life! I’ve dealt with toxic family members like that and a few narcissistic females… from 2000-2012 😊
Happy to see this reaction. It's actually a blast of a movie.

I rewatched this after watching the series Hannibal and saw Hugh Dancy in a whole new light
The versatility of this man is astonishing tbh
Love this movie!

This is a great movie. My siblings and I literally quite it all the time 😊
The sexy giant is Heidi Klum. That's one lucky elf.

Not in a castle, but a Mardi Gras ball down here in New Orleans is a good time.
Loved this movie as a teen. Please watch the live action Snow white with Emilia Clarke as well, its similar in the humor part.
That giant girl you said looks familiar is model Heidi Klum
Yayyyyy! Loved this movie growing up.
Same but im not grown up yet I'm Ella's age😢
Gotta do havoc next! ❤❤❤ I'm requesting it ! ☺️💯. Great reaction video btw ! It's always fun to listen to your commentary 😅🤣🤗
Awesome reaction of my favorite movie!!!!!!😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
If you like Anne Hathaway check out Becoming Jane with her and James McAvoy.
It's also a good thing the movie doesn't take place in our days because of how people are talking now (imagine the poor Ella)
EVER AFTER PLEASE!!!

I love this movie and I love Anne Hathaway
Just started watching u love u ❤ok and the end is adorable is my fav 😍 😅
Nice video, did you see the deleted scenes though?
No comment about the escalator in town?
It supposed to take place in a " modern Middle Age " like in " Shrek "
The villain in this movie is so funny 😂
Not me just realizing while watching this, that the king is Wesley from princess bride
idk maybe ask Ella to tell an object what Edgar told her to do. Like don't tell me, tell it to this rock right here between us, "tell this rock what it is you need to do" make it a command.
It’s Heidi Klum the female giant the elf liked. Brumhilda
Does going to a The Vampire Diaries ball during “I was feeling Epic” con?? Cause that was my first ball and it was with some of the cast..
Poisoned clothes have been used to kill people in real life. Back around 1600 or so.
about time!😂
3:59 anne is 22 and her character was only 15

8:09 no… bc that wouldn’t be consensual. That’s terrible.
You should watch the series Mr and Mrs Smith with Donald Glover.
👍🏼
uhhhh WHAT
you said "if you want a submissive girl"
uh yeah that's called rape if she doesn't have a choice but to obey
that's disgusting
