      It’s true that a 5 inch blade length will only really cut material of 4 inches because you can’t utilize the upper 1 inch or so. This is very true so take that into account when you consider blade length

    I found out that the selection switch on the side isn't for speed. It's actually for the angle of the blade. Whether or not it ls parallel to the material. If you look close to the stamped depiction of the blade you can see a picture if the material vs the position of the blade. That's why the cut is of lesser quality when you stitch it from 0.

    • @JosephHunstad
      @JosephHunstad 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes that switch on the side changes the isolation from 0 to 3. Three is the most aggressive cut but the poor‘s quality zero has no oscillation a fine cut but it’s slow. The variable speed comes from the trigger. It’s a great unit I’ve used it quite a bit over the last week thanks for your comment.

    • @JosephHunstad

    I have one & its a love hate relationship, I love the balance & quality of cut & tool, I hate the shoe design with the gap at the front & no way to easily follow a line if you can't see the blade & the bogus dust blower helps pile dust up in front of the shoe when cutting things like rip cuts on laminate flooring, even crappy $60.00 cordless saws have a shoe with a closed in front & indentation for center of the blade along with a vacuum attachment that can push into the back of the shoe to suck the dust out.
    so they spent a lot of time over designing its awesome features while overlooking its ability to easily perform its basic task.

    • @JosephHunstad
      @JosephHunstad 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Roger thank you so much for your excellent observations. No question I’m disappointed with the lack of cut visibility , because of the poor dust clearance.
      And yes, I agree. The shoe design could be much better. The versatility and power and control and feel of the tool is excellent, but it does have some issues for sure. Consider subscribing. Thanks Joe.

      @JosephHunstad 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@wyattsdad8561 well first of all this one is brushless, so I think that’s better. The brushes will never wear out because there aren’t any. It does not have an LED light and the dust blower. It’s for position and it’s OK but it’s not fantastic. Thanks, Joe.

    I bought that saw. It worked fine with wood cutting blades but would not hold onto thinner metal cutting blades. Spit them out. It's an issue with these saws judging from product reviews. So I returned it and bought a corded Bosch for half the price.

    • @JosephHunstad
      @JosephHunstad 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you so much great comment. I have not used it with metal cutting blades but I imagine because they have a thinner kerf the shank is thinner also. Thanks again for the update. Isn’t it amazing how corded are so much less expensive than cordless
