Interesting way of laying the sleepers. Why did they not use the rail sleeper laying train/machine (I don’t know it’s proper name). I was lucky enough to witness that on east west rail and it’s very fast, impressive and loud. A horizontal crane going down the length of a train is something to behold!
I've seen a similar machine to the one shown here, but instead of having the ability to spread out the sleepers before laying them in place, it just put them them all down as a batch, closely spaced, then picked up nos 2, 4 and 6 again, reversed a bit and then set them down in the right place to leave a perfectly spaced batch.
Awesome. 🎉🎉
Thank you.
Thank you. Good to see. (Recorded and uploaded July not August. Easy slip to make.)
Thanks for pointing that out. I’ve corrected the error.
Didn't know trains could be run over unballasted track, but there you go, good filming
Very slow speed....
The train is able to run at 5 MPH all the way from Thornton to Leven.
@@buses4182 was gonna say it looked walking pace near enough tbh.

I'm looking forward to late July. I'm going to use this line to see east fife fc in the Scottish League Cup. Thank you Scottish Govt
How do you get to this spot
Sorry for the late reply it’s the fife Heritage railway land in the woods Sadly all fenced off now.
Thank you Scottish Government (SNP)
And the campaign group who fought hard to get it built.
ABSOLUTELY 👍
