Where else would normal parents buy a weapon to their child, crazy or not. A US network has a daily gun tracker and this reading is tragic and frightening. If you have a gun, chances are that you will use it at some point. If you don´t have one, you will find other - less violent - solutions to most problems.

You can't discipline the crazy out of someone. While I don't disagree that discipline is needed for all children, I personally feel he needed psychological help far more than discipline. He was clearly calling out for help and being ignored by these two. I don't believe that absolves him of responsibility of shooting up a school full of children, but he did attempt to get help.

I think these defendants are 1000% guilty, however, there has to be a fair trial or conviction will get overturned. They are locked up, they can’t even touch the tops of their own heads throughout a lot of these hearings.
Not addressing a hearing impairment could be grounds for an appeal, refusal of accommodation for a hearing impairment, for sure, would be grounds for appeal.

These are non-violent parents. I think it is cruel to set their bond so high that they cannot afford to get out of jail. The court system lets violent criminals out of jail on low bonds or no bond ALL THE TIME! Enough is enough and their bond should be set at a reasonable amount. And if they are going to be tried for negligent homicide, then the parents of other children that commit crimes with guns should also be arrested. This is looking like a kangaroo court.

    • @patriciahairston5382

Diana thats correct. Regardless of what they did as bad parents. And I'm not saying they are innocent, but I have also seen murders be placed on house arrest with a lower bond. They did not actually pull the trigger although thy were neglectful. But I read where South Carolina, Texas, California are all letting shooters out. And this couple is chained in court and denied. It just seem strange to me.

Leaving your child to deal with his mental issues despite him asking for help; tell him to "suck it up", buy him a gun, then refuse to take him home when asked by the school & not once mention that gun in the meeting. "LOL, I'm not mad at you. You need to learn not to get caught". Spent all their $ on horses and a gun instead on getting Ethan professional help. Tons of signs that they chose to ignore.
