- It's one of the few roller coasters Hopkins ever produced, and can be found at a small park in Phoenix, Arizona. Its provides an enjoyable ride, but could it have been better? All of this is discussed and more in todays Coaster Parody!!

Vekoma has improved in coaster quality, although these new coasters are all the way in Europe...….but it's still fun to tear into them and make fun of their older models.

Castles 'n' Coasters is my home park and I have to say this is quite funny. The Desert Storm is a good ride tho.

@@kingcorgi7509 Not unless you have to do a school assignment the whole time. Otherwise it's actually pretty good, but that's just my opinion.
@@kingcorgi7509 There isn't really all that much to the park. It's good for what it is - a tiny amusement park in metro phoenix. But it's definitely going to be a disappointment if you're used to parks like Knott's or Hershey Park. It's also my home park, and I have great childhood memories there. But even still, it just... There's just not a lot there.

Hey Taylor, I got a Cedar Fair platinum pass this year, and I want to use it before the park I purchased it at opens for 2016. I know Carowinds opens before Kings Dominion, so how would I go about processing it before the park I purchased it at opens?

If you live and Arizona and want to have fun, drive to Vegas.
Zander Plays Video Games Actually I live in az and it takes the same time to get to Disney from Phoenix that it takes to get to Vegas from Phoenix and btw the rides at Vegas are really not that fun. In my opinion, even though desert storm is a tiny bit rough, it's really fun and re rideable. Unlike a lot of coasters in Vegas, but eh that's just my opinion.

The Dragon in Adventureland in Iowa is also a Hopkins, seems to be the same type of deal, but it has over the shoulder restraints which sucks at how rough it is. Second loop near the back of the train typically makes the vision go grey or black.

I actually got to this park in 2021 during my visit to my grandparents' house in Surprise, AZ. 1 month ago, I returned here.
Also, Phoenix is easy to go through.

Heh. Im just happy my home park is getting any attention. Yes its no Disnryland or six flags. But its not a bad Little park. Its actually themed really well. Even if its confusing as to weather its middle east or Carriben Pirates. Its Mini Golf is good and themed excellently for the size amd budget. Has a bitchen Arcade with Old school and newer stuff. A Go Kart track thats rough as hell with hard plastic seats amd karts that sometimes do and dont have power steering. Ah the memories.
I used to live in Arizona and this was the first looping roller coaster I had ever been on. Thank goodness I live in California now.
I was listening to blink 182 and I saw this vid in my subscriptions and I was like "Omg I need to watch this!"
My flight out of Pheonix was delayed 2 hrs (a few years back)... plenty of time to run over to this park and ride it. The best part of the experience is looking at it. "It looks like something you would see from a first graders art project"... so true!! The ride itself was so-so.
This is (unfortunately) my home park. I guess it beats anything, which is nothing, that we have in Tucson. I am looking forward to the new Mattel theme park in Glendale.

I'm fortunate enough to live in Florida where we have Busch Gardens Tampa, Disney World, Universal Studios, Seaworld, Daytona Lagoon, multiple Fun Spot locations and miles of gorgeous beaches

I work there and this just gave me goosepumps with how accurate it was. Could've said so much more about how sad of an excuse the park is but thats okay. Those who know. Know. Lol 👌

This is what happens when you ask a company only known for log flumes to build a coaster lol. They built a total of like 7-8 coasters back in the 90s, then stopped and went back to log flumes once they realized how bad they were at building coasters. I've been on one (The Dragon - Adventureland) and it is rougher than the love child of Vekoma and Togo.

Hopkins actually has a decent track record... with log flumes anyway. They built water rides for six flags, kings island, and disneyland.

Cmon Vekoma isnt so bad just the clones(slc and mk) are terrible except for xpress platform 13/rocknrollercoaster. There are also some good coasters by Vekoma in Europe

So I got to ride my first Vakoma SLC last weekend at Michigans adventure, I guess its just me but i never banged my head on the ride, not once and i rode that thing 8 times because that park was DEAD. I have hurt my head on raptor more than i have firehawk. Maybe im just the perfect height for the ride im not sure.

If a park like this got a B&M, I would freak out because when I rode it the restraints were minimal, so were the safety checks. So, in this sketchy park I would not want to see a B&M. And was I the only one who was more freaked out riding this than Top Thrill Dragster?

+CoasterDudesUnited Intamin Impulse for sure. V2 at my home park SFGAm is actually a lot of fun to ride, so I assume it's the same for the rest.
I went on that coaster when I was like 6 or 7 and my neck hurt so bad after one ride that we left
They should have gotten a Gerstlauer. A basic Eurofighter model is only around 2,000,000 and it would be more thrilling.
