Would love to buy one carriage for a "weekender" (either DCM8026 or 8033) accommodation at my country property, Comeng built a great long lasting product, although some developed roof leaks in recent years.
It's sad but atleast they tried salvaging parts to extend the life of the current V Sets. Might not be by much but atleast it's better than nothing. Edit: Does anyone else get a bit of nostalgia after seeing all the L7 logos and CiyRail liveries?
V21 and V43 should be preserved. After all, we need some evidence that once upon a time we knew how to build and maintain trains in Australia. If I recall V21/V51? has the dummy engine in car 6, that used to be a driver car but was converted to passenger. Always caught people for the rear car stops and they'd have to jump from car 5 (back in 1999 anyway)
Very, very sad. I always found the V sets to be extremely comfortable and well ahead of their time. Have any of the V sets been set aside for preservation? Thank you for a fine video.
Thanks for ur feedback and you are welcome! Currently there are no heritage V sets, but there are plans to keep one 4 car set as a heritage in future. Will see what happens!
Very sad to see these beauties go, then again they had been rotting for 15 years Would have been a perfect fleet for static preservation though. I still don’t get why they couldn’t have shipped 2 of these cars down to Goulburn instead of using 2 that were already refurbished.
Should have brought these carriages to a train museum for display
i should have brought these trains to put im my back yard
used to go on these types of v sets when i was little, Its sad to see them go, when they couldve just gotten the trainlink livery...
29:05 ha, the original TTU Tangaras, still in the same place for the past 7 months

I Had same idea too!
@@artemstransportvlogs121 I seen a Hitachi electric suburban M66 ex The Met in Melbourne at Bumberry NSW, they make a good accommodation set up.
Great footage, thanks for capturing
Do you know which scrapyard they went to
They went to "Sell & Parker" scrapyard that is located in Blacktown. All carriages are gone sadly…
Is there any way to purchase one of these before they are scrapped? I mean in future..
Who knows… Only wish for now…
I wondered where those old carriages went after lockdown
They gone to another world…
@@artemstransportvlogs121 they should’ve preserved the fibreglass front end though
Are these some of the old suburban v sets?
Yes, some carriages actually are. You can see them as their headlights located more up to the roof.
Would have been weird seeing that on the highway next to you. Interesting bogie adaptor
great video thanks

It's like watching a funeral
For me it was like that…
So these rail cars were from the matrix

Very sad, couldn't they preserve some of the carriages
Probably they didn’t because they were in really bad condition… Sad…
I would dream of using part of a Vset as a room in my dream house
Lol. I got some form that ones (not much) & I use them!
The fibreglass front end would be nice 👍

Those cars stood at Chullora for about 2 years or so before going to Goulburn around 2016/2017. Both cars were retired in 2011 I believe.
