So I'm likely the oldest dude here who knows what "Vintage Vaudeville" style means for this wonderful video. Vaudeville was a live variety type stage entertainment going back to the 1880's and dwindling around 1930 as movies and radio surpassed going to live shows. A vaudeville show might have singers, dancers, magic, animal acts etc. Puddles and Haley are sort of doing a classic man/women song and dance routine like back in the day......but not like back in the day lol. Puddles and Haley are two of my favs for sure! I also want to tip my hat to Scott Bradlee and his genius arrangements for PMJ. A quiet talent back on the piano.I have tickets to see PMJ in November.....can't wait!

My favorite moment is when Haley lets her voice crack on "No-one knew me." Could melt a freezer full of ice with that.

A living caricature of cheeky is one of the best reactor comments I've heard since "Emotional support Cows!" for Blazing Saddles. IYKYK.

Puddles says so much without saying anything. You need to checkout Haley singing Christmas songs when she performs her yearly Christmas concerts, we’ve all sang and heard many performers sing them but with Haley it’s “that’s how they are supposed to sound” perfection

They both fully inhabit those roles. Love it when they held hands. Exceptional as always Scott Bradlee!!

During her run with PMJ back in the mid 2010’s Haley said she enjoys getting into character when she goes on stage, (a cross between Betty Boop & Marilyn Monroe, with a dash of Ann Margret IMO)
If you want to check out a solo performance, I had the honor that Haley put her sound board mix on one of my videos from her 2022 tour & added to her channel, her cover of “I Put a Spell On You” th-cam.com/video/LCWwOtdf728/w-d-xo.html
If you’d like to hear a Haley Original, she did a video featuring her talented guitarist father for a charity event where she performs “Don’t Know How to Love You” with just her Dad on guitar, you hear all the colors in her voice (the first half of the video, she covers Blind Faith’s “Can’t Find My Way Hone”)
    th-cam.com/video/omtsHEs2g0w/w-d-xo.html
(Above video suggested because recorded in studio gives Haley’s vocals the clarity they deserve )
Haley’s Dad, Harry, is a major musical influence and a well respected Chicago blues guitarist ✌🏻

If you want to check out another excellent PMJ and Puddles colab... Watch their version of Lorde's Royals.
The man who is Puddles is a long time performer, considers his singing style "popera", and is a passionate Elvis impersonator. He is incredibly talented and it's been fun watching him embody this character over the years. He did do a stint on AGT and has toured with fellow AGT alum Piff.

I really loved Haley’s Post Modern version of Creep (Radiohead). She’s one my my favorite vocalist in the world. The rasp and sass. Unmatched.

Not to get away from PMJ but there is a performance of Haley Reinhart, Myles Kennedy of Alter Bridge, and Slash on the 12 string acoustic covering Rolling Stone's "Wild Horses" It was on a TV special celebrating Mohammad Ali's 70th birthday. It really sounded great!

another great reaction! puddles is great but nobody touches the soul quite like haley reinhart. the authenticity is so refreshing in today's heavily produced superficial music. in addition to her usual character mix of jessica rabbit, betty boop and marilyn monroe with pmj, here she gives off this confident but still playful childlike vibe that strikingly reminds me of shirley temple... all her 9 songs with pmj are great but you should also check out her american idol performances to get a good historical context of her music journey... bennie and the jets and house of the rising sun are my favorites. enjoy! 😎

A great video to see Haley in a different style would be her playing with her dad at Chess records in Chicago. They perform two songs together, ‘Can’t find my way home’ and an original song of hers ‘don’t know how to love you’, as well as a bit of chat about their jazz, rock and blues influences. It’s an awesome video with two amazing performances.

Oh gosh waited forever for you to get to this one 😄 Was giggling at how seriously intense your expression was at the beginning as I knew what was coming. Puddles empathic body language and facial expressions are very touching, especially at 8:02 when Haley sings “no one knew me”. Stellar reaction and analysis to one of my favorite videos - your dog analogy was right on and appreciate all your evocative descriptions of Puddles, PMJ and especially [sassy jack russell] Haley (always!) ! 👏

Great reaction and analysis! I'm a huge Haley fan and love watching reaction videos to her performances, especially with PMJ. You've done my favorites - Creep, Don't Speak, and Mad World - but everything she did with them is pure gold and you can't go wrong with any of them. And of course there are lots of great PMJ videos with other singers too to check out.
I'd like to suggest another video and artist - Eva Cassidy's live version of Over the Rainbow. It is the most emotional, evocative performance I have ever seen. That and Haley's Creep are the two greatest vocal performances ever recorded IMO. I hope you find time for it!

Check out Haley and Jeff Goldblum doing My Baby Just Cares for Me. A little different style, more jazz / night club feel.

Do yourself a favor and listen to Haley singing accompanied by her father at Chess Records. She sings an original plus a BLIND FAITH song (Can't Find My Way Home). Completely brilliant.

Talk about Haley’s voice sounding like a trumpet, she has a few videos where you can say that she’s playing the “frumpet “.
Steam Roller Blues is a good example
