Does anybody else feel like they have done part of this project cause Chuck is so good at saying we and our and making you feel like part of the project?
So popular when I was in public school... as a kid it was a fad. We all had to have . It’s a nice touch to make a skinny one for the girl friend... when we went skate boarding, a palm protection was added and that was so practical.
I recommend adding a D-ring on each one, put the two together with a few chain links and it’s not just for bodybuilders 😉 great project as always! Thanks Chuck!
I'm just gonna make one but, I'm gonna turn it into a watchband. Dyed in Mohogany pro dye, Cream colored stitching, and brass buckles. I like the steampunk style. I'll definitely post it on the fan page for y'all to see.
@David, One of these wrist bands with 3 straps would make a great watchband. Maybe put snaps on it to make it easy to wash your hands in these crazy days.
I broke my wrist badly 10 years ago. It set wrong and I've been left with a very weak, painful wrist. I also play piano and fast pieces are really uncomfortable to play. I was thinking the other week I need a wrist support but one that won't get in the way and did think of making one of these. I also have a tiny wrist, just 5 inches in circumference. Thank you for these clear instructions on how to make one. I've subscribed to your channel.
Great project! I have tried to make these out of all one piece, and they were such a pain in the backside, I didn't want to make any more. I like the idea of making the pieces separately, and I'm going to try it.
As kids with small wrists, we would do an awful chop job on these wristbands. We would chop an oblong hole between the buckles to make the body of the leather band shorter. If we needed more we would chop another oblong between the leather straps. I never remember them looking too bad even with the awful chop jobs.
I remember those "wrist bands" as they were called most of the time. I first saw them about 50yrs ago. They made quite a splash with kids that were 9 to 14 years old. They were expensive, about $1.50 per band. I'm guessing at the price that was a long time ago. But it was close to that. Most kids would buy two. That was the price of cleaning about 2 yards. I remembered these wrist bands a while back. But I couldn't remember how to put one on.
whats this about them supporting wrists? i blacksmith and i do wrap my hammering arm with leather straps, mostly to protect from slag but its decently tight so it doesnt slip.. does this actually help?
Hello, there I just signed up to order from you asap as my money pit fills up lol gonna order soon something simple first then maybe the purse and that briefcase after that and maybe the cloak who know maybe some tall mocs I know baby /toddler steps first just excited
Hello sir. New to channel. Bought a usmc kabar knife with leather handle. It's very light. I dont know if there is anything on the leather but it is shiny. I want to dye it dark brown. If they dye it from factory or put something on it to make it shiny can I dye right over the top or do I need to do something to the leather first?
Hi Rick, You would have to remove the shiny top coat first. Deglazer will usually work to remove a top coat, but, without know what was applied we can't say for sure. Just don't use sandpaper to remove it, as this will ruin the top grain of the leather.

Great project! The band-aid thing made me chuckle.
That was probably a paper cut.

the snake skin on the strap with a black bracelet would look really great as well
Cut the ends into snake heads to complete the theme. 🐍
You should do a video on stacked leather handles. I never can get those to come out decent

Awesome project! Thank you!
I've made a few decent cuffs out of remnants of leather. Now I just need a good way to sell them and grow...

@@WeaverLeatherSupply thank you sir
What gauge is recommended for the body and straps?
Hi there,
Chuck used a 4/5 oz. leather but you could go a bit heavier if needed (6/7 or 7/8).
Great video! Thanks Chuck! How do you put it on with one hand?
Hi Jackson,
If you slide the straps through the oblong first and then put it on your wrist, you can easily tighten and buckle with one hand.
@@WeaverLeatherSupply Thank You!
Excelente 👍👍👍
maybe these for cosplay later
What? No spikes!!
Hi do you have any free leather starter kits I may have plz
Hi there,
We have free downloadable patterns for most of our projects - just look in the description of the video. We don't have free kits
Rob Halford approves. 🤘🏽
Ah man! Now I feel ashamed for the bracelet i posted on the fan page!
Never be ashamed of something you made yourself. If it was easy everyone would do it. I'm sure it turned out well.
No, please don't ever be ashamed of a project! We love to see them!
you sound like youre coming down with a cold. get some rest, drink lots of fluids.
