God is Not Out to Get You

Father Justin reminds us of a great but simple truth: God is not out to get you. Some Biblical passages may seem to suggest otherwise, depicting God’s relationship with the world as one of supervision, reward, and punishment. But Jesus reveals a God who works not through the power of force but the power of love and who invites us to a relationship based on grace and forgiveness rather than fear and punishment. We are challenged to let go of the 'scorecard' mentality and trust in God's grace, even in the face of life's unpredictability.
