I have a wine red Wildkat with a Bigsby. It was my first electric. I love it. I play blues and rock on it. The only thing I’ve heard about reasonable improvements is the wiring. But mine is still stock and I enjoy playing it.
I would change the master volume to a bass roll off. I have done it to one my Gretsch G5220 solid body and one of my G5420Ts. It makes a huge difference in tone. Nearly infinitely variable tones.
Have the Bigsby model. Replaced PUPs with Guitar Fetish P90s at like 37bucks a piece. Vastly improved tone. All the wiring is trash. So while it's out you might as well upgrade pots, switch and jack.
They had two variations: One had the Bigsy and one didn't. I personally have cherry without Bixby. Most of the reviews of the Bigsy model people complain about the angle of the strings coming off the Bigsby, it goes out of tune quickly. I've heard people doing some modification to alleviate this issue.
I have one without a Bigsy. The former owner complained a lot about the tuning with the Bigsby bridge, so he removed and added a Gibson bridge. Honestly, I like it that way. Bigsby bridge makes it more difficult to play.

The only way I know to have a quiet P90 is to use a noiseless set. Except those are really stacked humbuckers
