oh my goodnesss does she give me chills with this! theres just something about her and her words...there is something radio cannot ever capture..and thats the expressions ones face says.........the story of the teller! half the beauty of enjoying a song is seeing the feeling that makes u feel u know them! they lived it, breathed it, felt it..in their every word and every expression!
Hounds are broodin' in my bones But I am a good dog runnin' halfway home Hear the lonely promenade Come to nurse the tender terrways All hands on a grain of sand; Half smallest things are the high demand. I can only serenade And wait my turn to burn or fade. All colours you can see Cover the borders of a masterpiece Time can paint the best of me Over the unclear eyes of memory All hands on a grain of sand; Half smallest things are the high demand. I can only serenade And wait my turn to burn or fade. Cover love from sympathy Be my maker, set me free Truer hearts could not contain How I cover love but I have not changed If I had the past undone Then I would give my heart to everyone Hounds are turning, doves have flown But I am a good dog running halfway home All hands on a grain of sand; Half smallest things are the high demand. I can only serenade And wait my turn to burn or fade.
Don't know how to write tabs, but she'd mostly creating the rythmic "snare drum" effect with her nails on the downstroke, while most of the individual notes are done on the lower 2/3 strings with her thumb, using the hammer-on a lot. She's playing in G with capo on the 6th fret, if you want to try playing along. The minor is the Em formation. I think it sounds better with the capo on the 1st fret and playing in C, and the minor there is the normal Am formation. Hope this helps.
What a beautiful songwriter. We can all uncover the borders of our own masterpiece. Lets make it so that time might paint the best of ourselves and each other..... no fading away... Anyway, there's certainly nothing faintly faded about this woman or this music...
thank you! and a very cute kitty you got there too! love that channel name too, cute, & boy what i wouldnt give for a snickers bar right this minute! thanks for bringing me back to this beautiful song !
Cette chanson est empreinte d'une belle et rare poésie. Vraiment touchant, droit au coeur. J'ai entendu cette semaine Geneviève Toupin chanter avec Mme Curran cette même chanson, piano et guitare, fantastique!
A great poet! Her lyrics are obviously heavily influenenced by fellow countryman Leonard Cohen. Throw in the guitar stylings of , maybe, Garnet Rogers, you have a true Canadian folk legend to be!
I totally agree, Buzz Crooks. Just wow..... I just love the way she is so understated, just direct, modest and humble. Not a pretentious bone in her body. Great stuff! Just what's needed for a folk revival in Canada. She'll go down as a legend like Joni Mitchell, Lenny Cohen, Lightfoot, etc. in my humble opinion.
I've been covering this song nearly nightly for over a year...it's a "masterpiece". But other than "small things", what the hell's the song about?? Too funny...I can tell the folks I'm singing-to are wondering the same thing.
Great lyrics and a wonderful voice. But, like Ron Hynes, the "music moguls" won't know how to classify her amazing music, so she won't get any airplay outside NL. But keep at it Amelia.
Reminds me of Gregory Alan Isakov's Stable Song. And that is one of the highest compliments I can offer a piece of art.

Tears to my eyes and heat to my heart; that’s what Amelia Curran does for me.
I absolutely love you Amelia! Thank you so much for existing and creating beautiful music that I listen to daily.

What’s wrong with Bryan Adams?
