I have missed them. This is such a fascinating relationship because in a weird way there is a big power imbalance in *both* directions. Asirel is super rich, well connected, powerful and essentially owns them. Listener is physically far superior and could kill him if they felt like it. Both are aware of their strengths and shortcomings and not afraid to admit to or make use of either. Each one wants something the other has or supplies. So oddly enough it equalises at the end of the day. It’s very interesting and I’m excited to see where this goes.

This storyline is one that I'm most invested in. A Vampire Listener with unclean hands working for a rich young man whose made plenty of enemies. The dynamic is interesting while still being eerie and uncomfortable. They both seem to want a specific goal but that hasn't been fully fleshed out yet. Also the darkness of it all was great. I felt all of that!🌹

I like that the listener’s character depth potential is so evident since the first 2 episodes. I can’t wait for a potential heart to heart or maybe one time he’ll punish them and they’ll break down and we’ll find out so much more about the listener. I wonder though, how Asirel would react once he has that knowledge, part of me feels like he’d just exploit it to get whatever reaction or obedience he wants from the listener, but for the sake of his own character development I feel like it might evolve into sympathy or genuine care eventually. I feel like the circumstances of their turning and what happened before Ivan ever got ahold of them plays a huge role into their reactions (lashing out bc of lack of attention from Ivan or asking Asirel is he has a lover for fear of competition or maybe abandonment) I know what I’m saying is evident but I just really appreciate the touches and the “bread crumbs” Saku loves putting to get us to theorize for weeks on end.
