Spider-Man is supposed to be one of the fastest characters (not pure speed like Quicksilver or Speed Demon) but more in ability and overall quickness. He’s fast enough to track sniper fire and get to the shooter before they can even get out their shooting position. Hes able to blitz rooms full of shield agents and tag them PLUS HAWKEYE before any of them could even react. He is quick enough to dodge near point blank range automatic rifle fire. He is capable of striking characters much faster than him. He and miles have been shown to chase down jets taking off, tho miles just barely makes it.
and hes just like that in game🤦♂️ yeah he may look a bit slow but hes still relatively faster than most things going on in the game world itself and people tend to forget that part they just think hes suppose to be the fucking flash or something
I played this on PS4 and spiderman feels pretty fast. He runs slow, but that feels like a natural mechanic to encourage the player to swing on webs instead and to use the web swinging combos which you can string together for pretty enjoyable mao traversal. I don't disagree that the hardware would have been the main limiting factor, but I think if they'd made it much faster it would have resulted in web swinging feeling chaotic rather than precise. For some reason spiderman runs faster vertically up walls than horizontally along the ground but it didn't exactly spoil the game.
I think the reason why they made Spider-Man swing at the speed he does is because the PS4's processing power, so I think when the second one comes out as a PS5 exclusive, it'll be much faster

Pretty sure the spiderman ps4 game was boosted for the PS5. And its that boosted version that got ported to PC. You can see it in the character model for Peter.
His faster launch speed pace is probably more accurate of a speed to what his casual run speed would actually be. Course at top speed neither this run, sprint, or swinging speed quite matches up to how fast spiderman can really go when he tries
Spider-Man at his best he has super speed, he is a speedster, but he's not known for his speed which makes it underrated. He can outrun Black Panther like it's nothing.

To be honest, Insomniac could had done a lot better with Marvel's Spider-Man. The same also applies and for Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales. Both games seem to be limited on physics when it comes to playable character. The character feels heavy, like a boat (for some weird reason). This mod makes the game a lot better, unlocks the character's full potential (almost), to what he can really do. This mod also reminds me how Spider-Man 3 PS3/Xbox 360/PC feels, which is also great.

We've seen a huge upgrade in webslinging after getting our hands on miles morales. This video shows that the next game should focus on free running too. Give spidey more weight and fluidity with an increase in speed.
Think its a deliberate choice. They won't put too much effort into Parkour mechanics when the player can just web swing across the map. They assume the average player will web swing 99% of the time so would rather focus their ressources into making that a better experience
I feel like the running could be just overhauled with additional animations and smoother analog movement to improve its stability. Increasing the speed makes it a tiny bit more stiff, so the extra animations and improved analog feedback would fix that issue completely. Otherwise, I think it’s an overall improvement. Didn’t feel slow playing initially, but seeing the comparison I prefer the movement having an increased range to its speed. That’s not to say I don’t want you to be able to move slowly (part of why I bring up the improved analog movement before)
I know this would be a significant increase in work, but is there any way to make this mod scale with in game levels? So the speed at the start of the game is equal across mod and vanilla, but as you level up the speed increases begin to slowly trickle in until max level is the full modded speed?
Are you worried that it could perhaps make a few missions buggy, like those where you run through buildings? It would be nice to know mods like this don't break the game. By the way, this feature you mentioned? Just add a script tied to an in-game upgrade and let the user decide when to activate it.
Spider man in game: Barely keeping up with a car that looks like its going 5 mph. Spider man in comics: literally running at speeds of around 200 mph and swinging at speeds of over 1000 mph
Kinda like the increased launch speed. Really makes more sense considering that even when Spider-Man holds back with his strength, he can still project enough power to launch him at that distance at that speed.

Here's the thing about spider-man, he's stronger than anyone faster than him, and faster than anyone stronger than him then he also has battle precognition which pretty much makes him untouchable.
I wouldn’t say he’s faster than everyone stronger than him. His spider sense let’s him know to get out of the way before the hits happen. The hulk or venom are probably faster than Spiderman. Hulk can’t touch him because of the spider sense and Spiderman usually avoids fighting venom hand to hand by outsmarting him
Ok, good start. Now someone please add manual swing boast so you can also use the added momentum to boast your wall running speed. I know I might be of the small majority of gamers that requests this but it's a feature that I miss from spider-man 3 (idk if 2 had it as well), it not only helped make traversing New York much faster but it also helped make scaling tall buildings less of a chore. I haven't played enough to truly complain so if these mods/improvements aren't needed, someone let me know.

You realize you’ve also exponentially increased his strength and body density right? As an object swings about a pendulum the centripetal force required to keep the object along its path is directly proportional to its torque around the circumference.

When the swing pen was happening he was forcing it to be slower on the left cause he was doing half swings and jumping off the web really early to make it slower on purpose
Maybe it's just me, but I never noticed. It seemed that Spiderman moved normally, but everyone and everything else moved slower like time dilation and I play on PS4. I never stay on the ground long enough, except in combat, to run any meaningful distance against cars and as I'm swinging my focus is ahead of Spiderman looking for web attachment points, zip-transitions and drops to gain speed. I can see the point of the frame rate dropping if the action goes too fast but I think that is mitigated by the motion blur function as well as masking the limit tweaks the video so glaringly represents.
My ONLY problem with this mod is the jump height. It makes it kind of difficult to navigate indoors when you can easily jump all the way to the roof of an average room. Other than that, it's PERFECT. Swinging feels SO much better at the higher speeds you can reach with this mod!

Spider-man's body weight is like 165 to 180 lbs, he can lift 10+ tons. His strength to weight ratio makes it so that he should be clearing hundreds of feet each time he leaps, his body being that strong should mean that his bones and muscles are incredibly dense, his bones should be like steel, his skin should also be very strong and tight as well, his durability should be far higher than it is portrayed.
Just to make sure all these test came out accurate we’re you the same level for each because normal spidey looked pretty slow so I thought maybe you were a low level with any swing speed increased but over all good mod

Spider-man's body weight is like 165 to 180 lbs, he can lift 10+ tons. His strength to weight ratio makes it so that he should be clearing hundreds of feet each time he leaps, his body being that strong should mean that his bones and muscles are incredibly dense, his bones should be like steel, his skin should also be very strong and tight as well, his durability should be far higher than it is portrayed.

Just to make sure all these test came out accurate we’re you the same level for each because normal spidey looked pretty slow so I thought maybe you were a low level with any swing speed increased but over all good mod

Modders basically carried skyrim and is probably the only reason its still selling.
