Did you know they asked Bruce Lee to slow his moves down for the camera, he tried but it was still too fast so they just filmed him in a slower motion. Can you believe its slow motion?! Omg this guy was and is still the best! 💜

      @waltersimmons946 ปีที่แล้ว +6

@Once Again It's the truth . If Bruce hadn't slowed down, his moves would've looked like a blurr and would not have shown on camera. They showed Bruce dailys back during the run of the Hornet series. He had no choice but to slow down. He saw the prints of the shows and saw what the crew was trying to tell him about the situation. He wasn't happy about it, but Lee saw their point and quickly made adjustments. He was that fast.

It was fun to watch Mr Lee, even though the studio tried to deminish his roll with camoflage. He still was capable & showed his sense of humor. Toying with the stuntmen. Then flashing a boyish grin tor the cameras.

I remember when this was released in theaters back in 1974. Bruce could pack a theater. The poster is a collector's item. Not bad for a father and son team who asked for the series when it was collecting dust in the Twentieth Century studio vault. Why it wasn't licensed for DVD release beats me. So they edited in their basement, extended the fights from different episodes, and fashioned a minimum story thread . Much of it couldn't be followed but no one cared. Lee had just passed. Return of the Dragon was released a month before. People wanted to see Lee again and the studio had egg on their face for letting a five month TV series just sit there. That father and son and the distributor who got a 40% cut all became rich.

The main title was by the immortal trumpist, AL HIRT. You heard this again in Tarantino's KILL BILL, VOLUME 1 when Uma Thurman was flying into Tokyo and then driving into town on her motorcycle.
By no mistake, she wore an outfit exactly like Bruce Lee in his unfinished film, GAME OF DEATH.

The car is a 1966 Chrysler Imperial Crown with a Chevy 454 and special racing 400 Hydromatic transmission. The funny part is the stock suspension. The car looks like a Stagecoach going over the bumps and ditches. Too bad Anne Francis (Honey West) couldn't pair up with the Hornet.

Ummmm. No. It did not have a Chevy engine or GM transmission. It had a Chrysler 440 with Chryslers A727 Torqueflight.
Jay Leno doesn't own it. The primary car is in the Peterson museum in LA. The second one is in South Carolina, owned by a private but enthusiastic collector. He shows it regularly to the public. Both have been beautifully restored.

Hahahaha! I think you just started a great urban legend! For one thing, those old TV shows were shot on film, so you have two speed you deal with, the film speed (or exposure rate) and the number of frames per second that are exposed. A high speed film is used for low light conditions and a high frame rate is used to create slow motion.

@E.V. Hodge That's the beauty of it, so few of them never diminished it's popularity. This show went on in times of superficiality and later started the fame of Lee and as based of a radio show, kept the elegance of an earlier era. One of the best shows in television for me.

There were 2 "movies" released that used episodes jammed together. This was sourced from a truck stop DVD.

Still great scenes of course - but this is no movie, it's chopped and cropped series parts. If you can copy this much, you could at least copy the whole thing of each of the 3 shows that were 80 percent used for this.

I hadn't seen this one. I saw the first compilation they did which was a mess because they took fight scenes from other episodes and just dropped them in almost anywhere to have more action scenes, forget whether their presence made any sense in the plot.

For a while I thought this was a sequel to the god awful Seth Rogan/John Cho version.
No one did it better than Bruce Lee. He is missed even today, a half century after his passing.
This Black Beauty is such a sexy beast. It's sexier than Adam West's Batmobile by a long shot.
There's enough room in the back seat for a three ring circus. The hood is big enough to land an aircraft, the same with the trunk.
They don't make them like that anymore. They haven't for a very long time. It was built like a tank.

As kids growing up in Roxbury, Massachusetts, we were into the show Batman, that is until the Green Hornet came on television. But what us boys was excited to watch was the fight scenes. Unlike Batman, Kato seemed real when he fought. Yeah we loved the rolling arsenal known as the Black Beauty, and honestly, the Batmobile was the only part of the show that wasn’t corny. But what we talked about when the teacher went out of the classroom was Kato! But I believe that this is a compilation of a bunch of episodes edited together and presented as a movie. Pretty bad continuity. And they never showed Miss Case’s brother and sister, Justin and Inda.
