I currently use the SL2 as a daily shoe. I do most of my easy miles and also longruns in them. I don't really like the Boston 12 for longruns as it offers not enough cushion for me. But i love them for my tempo runs and longer intervals. They feel fast, direct and snappy. My current race day shoes are the Vaporfly 3. I also use them for fast and short reps / track sessions. That rotation works great for me.
Takumi Sen range is a must. Love them, can do everything in them. My Half Marathon PB is in the Takumi Sen 8, my 5k PB was in the Takumi Sen 10. Have even done long runs up to 30km in them.
Supernova Prima (Easy/Recovery) Prime X 3 Long (Progression/ Long Run MP) SL2 Daily 4-6 miles Boston 13 - (Tempo, 2km-5km efforts) Takumi Sen 10 - 5-10km AP4 - Marathon
Love to hear your thoughts on an Adidas recovery run shoe. My current rotation. ASICS Gel Nimbus (Recovery) New Balance Rebel v4 (Everyday, Tempo) Adidas Takumi Sen (Speed, 5K Race) Adidas Boston 12 (Every day Long Run) ASICS Superblast 2 (Marathon Training Extra Long Runs) Adidas Adios Pro 3 (10K-Marathon Race) Will be swapping out the Rebel for the Evo SL, the AP3 for the AP4.
Cheers Fordy, love these drops as just working on a new rotation. Marathon in late summer/early autumn and need a little stability/support, so going Hyperion 2 GTS, Superblast 2 and just looking for race day shoe
Damn Adidas killing it in 2024. I got the Supernova Solution 2.0 for easy runs, the Evo SL and SL2 for daily trainers and Takumi Sen 10 for speed workouts.
Novablast 4, Saucony Endorphine 4 and Adidas Adios Pro 3 for me. I have been in this rotation for 2 years and I'm looking forward to continue with the Novablast 5, Endorphin Speed 5 and Adios Pro 4. Greetings from Mexico City.
I'd dump out the Boston and add the Takumi Sen. In the past 2 years, at age 50, the Sen has carried me to a 4:48 1500, 16:33 5k, and 1:18 half. It's fantastic.
I have the Boston 12 which is a great shoe and tend to do the faster workouts in and the Pro 3, my easier run shoe was the NB Rebel V4 but I've put almost 800km on that so will update with the Evo SL and will also get the Pro 4 for Manchester marathon. I'll keep using the Pro 3 for my long runs (they indestructible) with tempo efforts and keep the Pro 4 for best.
Nice one Chris… you’ll have to do the other brands as well now! I usually have a mix and at the moment it’s: Recovery: NB More v4 Daily: SL2 (short) / Superblast 2 (long/progressive) Speed: Vaporfly 2 Race: Adios Pro 4 / Metaspeed Sky Paris Plenty of overlap and, like you said one can do it all it for many people. 22 million isn’t too far away 👊🏻
For the bulk of daily miles the SL2 or SuperNova Rise 2 could be an alternative to the EVO SL (I don't own any of them though). For uptempo runs it could be the EVO SL or the Takumi Sen (I just got my pair of the Takumi Sen yesterday). Marathon pace training, as you mentioned, the Boston (got mine yesterday, but returned it for 1/2 size down).
Prime X 2 - can do everything but the short sharp reps. Takumi Sen 10 - for shorter intervals Adios Pro 4 - I don't really need them, but they're so much fun!
I use the prime x strung v1 for long runs (got almost 1000kms out of my first pair). The SL2s for the daily runs (great shoe for the price), Boston 12 for faster stuff. ASICS sky Paris on race day (but very tempted by the pro 4, the sizing just worries me.
If you can’t get the evo sl i would substitute the mizzuno neo zen, then the Boston 12, and the pro 4. Very interested to see your take on the Neo zen, it’s a banger.
I currently have a 4 shoe Adidas rotation: Adios Pro for racing, Prime X for long runs, Takumi Sen for speedwork and Adistar BYD for recovery runs. If you tel me I can have only one shoe, it would have to be the Adios Pro 2.
This is what I've been looking for. I got the sl 2's and the pro 4's (but wish I had watched your review about sizing up, I'm a bi on the fence, but I'm sure I have a bigger right toe than my left 😂), anyway, what would you recommend to maybe bridge the gap? Boston 12's? Evo sl?
Intregiued to know if the Evo SL is an option for easy runs? I currently do easy runs in the Nike Vomero 17 Boston 12s - Love mine! Adios Pro 4 - got them delivered the other day but still to try them (can’t wait)
You can’t go wrong with that as a rotation. The Boston 12 is sort of a forgotten shoe because of the hype around the new releases but it’s a solid workhorse.
Can’t go wrong with the B12s. Got it for 85 USD last November as my first serious running shoe. Would the Novablast 5 be a good companion to it for easy day runs?
LSR: Mizuno wave inspire Recovery/easy: superblast 2 (formerly Nike invincible 2 - Nikes fortune reversal coincides with trying to change that shoe to make for less $) Session: adidas prima Trails: saucony peregrine Race: vaporfly 2
Tried a pro three this week and they were the most uncomfortable trainers I’ve ever had. Felt like I had stones in my arches. Was looking at getting the SL2s to go with them but massively put off now
I'm brand loyal. Had two pairs of the Boston 12 alongside adios pro. The problem I had was the material on the upper. It's wear through quickly where my toes must point upwards. My previous ASICS were fine. The upper mesh on Bostons isn't stretching it seems. Do like the Adidas aesthetics the best. Also as everyone else seems to have the Nike. Never been one to follow the crowd. If Adidas changed the upper material would be good. Have heard of any other similar issues? Thanks.
I currently have the Adidas Adizero SL 2 for my easy/recovery runs, Boston 12 for Tempo and Intervals and long and then Pro 4 for race days.
Novablast, Boston 12 & Adios Pro 3 for me currently. Works great, a shoe for every type of training run and race day

For now it’s adizero evo sl, adios pro 3, and adios pro4. Adidas really are leading the field nowadays.❤
Cheers Fordy, love these drops as just working on a new rotation. Marathon in late summer/early autumn and need a little stability/support, so going Hyperion 2 GTS, Superblast 2 and just looking for race day shoe

Hi. Interesting reflection. For me: Easy/long run=Supernova Rise. Daily trainer= Adidas Evo SL. Race day= Boston 12. Like to Fordy. Cheers.
perfect combo
Agree 💯 with your rotation. I would add the Adios 9 for speed/track/5K/10K.
I'd dump out the Boston and add the Takumi Sen. In the past 2 years, at age 50, the Sen has carried me to a 4:48 1500, 16:33 5k, and 1:18 half. It's fantastic.
and you can pick those up cheap
@@FordyRuns I love how you always try to save us money when you can Fordy.

The pro 4 is an absolute dream to run in! It's so much better than the 3!
yeah so much better proper shoe
Nice one Chris… you’ll have to do the other brands as well now! I usually have a mix and at the moment it’s:
Recovery: NB More v4

we done asics and puma i think ... i will pick up the others through the year

Please do a rotation video for puma 🎉
Pls
yeah they have some releases coming so might be able to sort that video in feb

arrived yesterday ;-)
NovaBlast Superblast Adidas Pro 3/4 or Sky Paris. Unbeatable!
winning

Old school LSP ftw.
Full Send: TS10 & AP3 |
LSR SupernovaRise2
yeah that rise aint bad
"You only need one shoe" - That's a good one Chris!
You forgot about the Supernova Rise. Perfect for the slow long runs.
For me, current rotation. Novablast 5 daily, Takumi Sen 8 speed, Superblast 1 long run, Adidas Pro 3 race day.
This is what I've been looking for.

you can get away with it tbh i prefer something but sure try it
The video I've been waiting for Fordy! Adidas have been great recently. Any idea when StartFitness get the Adios 9?
Luv the Boton 12
great shoe
Got the 12s for Christmas and love them so much I picked up the pro 3 cheap for my Paris marathon race shoe.
@ I got the pro 3 for Christmas so looking forward to trying them on my first marathon this year.
@@FordyRuns great bestest shoe reviewer
I currently have the Adistar 3 (massively under-rated daily), Boston 12, Glideride Max (bit disappointing) and the Novablast 5
Hello fordy. not related to the vid but I was wondering if take any supplements? And if you are.. it will be great to see a vid about it.
You can’t go wrong with that as a rotation. The Boston 12 is sort of a forgotten shoe because of the hype around the new releases but it’s a solid workhorse.
i agree and 13 looks even better
Evo SL, Pro 3, Pro 4

yes
LSR: Mizuno wave inspire
Recovery/easy: superblast 2 (formerly Nike invincible 2 - Nikes fortune reversal coincides with trying to change that shoe to make for less $)

nice rotation
Would you not sen 9 or adios for shorter speed stuff?
Tried a pro three this week and they were the most uncomfortable trainers I’ve ever had. Felt like I had stones in my arches. Was looking at getting the SL2s to go with them but massively put off now
For me, that rotation is missing a slower shoe, something that can handle recovery miles. Maybe the Supernova Prima
I have these incoming

But i am going with ASIC, yes I know I might need to remortage the house to have all 3 but my mind is made up 😅
