What is Goldbridge on about?? Luke Shaw kept on coming back BEFORE he was ready, which caused him to get injured again. Shaw himself said this in an interview recently.
The fact that a lot of the media chose to focus on Trent who’s learning to play a new role but the likes of Gary Neville are saying all eyes are on him and Foden should be allowed an off night when he has never really performed for England. That’s not shade to Foden he’s an amazing player but it’s not working in an England shirt. Harry Kane needs to stop dropping in to midfield all the time. Southgate is not a proactive manager it was made even clearer when he didn’t bring either Eze, Watkins or Gordon on.

Unsure whether it's tactical, but Pickford puts us under huge pressure. As an Arsenal fan, I saw a number of times in the game where Arsenal would've eased the pressure by keeping the ball ticking over at the back. Pickford on the other hand, just repeatedly boots it long, toward a team of giants who just kept easily winning their headers and recycling the pressure. He's gotta do better for me.

Rice is a poor man's Mainoo, if he had a bit more about him we wouldn't have been under so much pressure. Bellingham was excellent and Guehi really looked the part.

I think he is already at Saka level. He is tenacious, an incredible runner. Great both sides of the ball. Direct, a goal threat, allround game is fantastic. Saka on the right, Gordon on the left. Get it done, pin opposition back, if they come out, those two will torch fullbacks; both carry a threat shooting from around the box, and are comfortable holding width, or threatening inside, against teams parking the bus. The thing no one is talking about at all is that Serbia were super physical and were absolutely muscleing England as their main tactic. They might not be the technically best team but it's like when Stoke did their thing in the prem, they do their physical thing well and are a harder team then on paper to beat.

I have to agree about Pickford. I've never been a huge fan of his, not negatively just never thought he was good enough but I am really wrong. Even when Everton are doing poorly you never point the finger and Pickford and he makes the saves when he needs to unless his backline really let him down.

Any other International manager would build a team around Jude. He is currently our most influential player, so for anyone to say Phil should play 10 and push Jude back as an 8 is bonkers. Yes, he can play 8 too, BUT…do we want the Dortmund Jude or the Madrid Jude? Madrid Jude is the type of player who can singlehandedly win you games… just as he showed against Serbia. Phil hardly made a case for himself as England’s 10 in the Iceland game, so why would you compromise Jude’s goal contributions to fit him in. Gareth needs to have the balls to make big decisions... and Phil has to be dropped. He’ll be Jude’s replacement off the bench. Gordon starting as LW should be a no-brainer!
I am Welsh, but like to see England do well. For me, Southgate is just a liability, picking TTA in midfield and a right back at left back is pathetic. Sakka was exceptional in the fast half hour, and then anonymous, and should have been hooked. Southgate is so negative and so behind the times with the use of substitutes. Mc Kenna at Ipswich is a master at utilising the whole squad, and making substitutions to alter games. Serbia adapted to England doing really well, and we failed to change a single thing tactically once they had done that, and it was crying out for Gordon on the left, Watkins up the middle, and whoever you like to replace Sakka. England should have kept the waistcoat and ditched Southgate. Finally, Leif Davies would do a great job for England on the left
People forget Bellingham's natural role is 8 - he's only playing as a 10 for Real because they already had such a stacked midfield. This is where he should be playing.
I don't know why everybody keeps ignoring Joe Gomez. He played a third of the season at left back and was really solid. He's more mobile than Tripper, who's fallen off massively.
No lb and no lw - need to play 3 at the back with 2 attacking wing backs either side, gordon and Trent and that means you can get both in the team and provide width Jude and rice in the middle with Jude having licence to get forward cos stones is comfortable stepping into midfield Then you can play Foden more centrally just off kane and saka on the right So many options with this England squad it's very frustrating watching Southgate do so little
Pickford is probably the best we’ve got, but that doesn’t make him ‘really good’, he’s fine. Too many basic errors, don’t love his decision making when it comes to shot stopping, and his calamitous errors, leaves you with your head in hands. Unfortunately we don’t have a keeper that would have saved the Danish shot to the corner, just remember how shocking Ramsdale is at trying to cover the bottom corners, because he can’t use his feet, you can always beat him near post.

Pickford is one of the better keepers in the world. He seems to struggle to shake the preconceived opinion from years ago. He has been incredible for the last 2 seasons. He was in many publications team of the season, rightfully so.
I love Pickford but he needs to pack the hoofball in. Playing against the tallest team in the euros and trying it stick it up on Foden's nugget isn't the one.

I think the netherlands game was good example of what southgate can't do.. Poland made changes and started dominating the game then the dutch saw this and made subs to counter it.. when we make changes everything stays the same

I have to agree about Pickford. I've never been a huge fan of his, not negatively just never thought he was good enough but I am really wrong. Even when Everton are doing poorly you never point the finger and Pickford and he makes the saves when he needs to unless his backline really let him down.
He's solid.

Madrid Jude is the type of player who can singlehandedly win you games… just as he showed against Serbia.
Phil hardly made a case for himself as England’s 10 in the Iceland game, so why would you compromise Jude’s goal contributions to fit him in.

For me, Southgate is just a liability, picking TTA in midfield and a right back at left back is pathetic.
Sakka was exceptional in the fast half hour, and then anonymous, and should have been hooked.
Southgate is so negative and so behind the times with the use of substitutes.
Mc Kenna at Ipswich is a master at utilising the whole squad, and making substitutions to alter games.
Serbia adapted to England doing really well, and we failed to change a single thing tactically once they had done that, and it was crying out for Gordon on the left, Watkins up the middle, and whoever you like to replace Sakka.
England should have kept the waistcoat and ditched Southgate.
Finally, Leif Davies would do a great job for England on the left

People forget Bellingham's natural role is 8 - he's only playing as a 10 for Real because they already had such a stacked midfield. This is where he should be playing.
I don't know why everybody keeps ignoring Joe Gomez. He played a third of the season at left back and was really solid. He's more mobile than Tripper, who's fallen off massively.
No lb and no lw - need to play 3 at the back with 2 attacking wing backs either side, gordon and Trent and that means you can get both in the team and provide width
Jude and rice in the middle with Jude having licence to get forward cos stones is comfortable stepping into midfield
Then you can play Foden more centrally just off kane and saka on the right
So many options with this England squad it's very frustrating watching Southgate do so little

Pickford is probably the best we’ve got, but that doesn’t make him ‘really good’, he’s fine. Too many basic errors, don’t love his decision making when it comes to shot stopping, and his calamitous errors, leaves you with your head in hands. Unfortunately we don’t have a keeper that would have saved the Danish shot to the corner, just remember how shocking Ramsdale is at trying to cover the bottom corners, because he can’t use his feet, you can always beat him near post.

Pickford is one of the better keepers in the world. He seems to struggle to shake the preconceived opinion from years ago. He has been incredible for the last 2 seasons. He was in many publications team of the season, rightfully so.
I love Pickford but he needs to pack the hoofball in. Playing against the tallest team in the euros and trying it stick it up on Foden's nugget isn't the one.
