Just a note, LEGO Island's controls actually aren't normally supposed to be this horrible. The turning speed is locked to the frame rate, which on computers of the time would have been 20FPS or so. Modern computers, however, have no such issues running the game, and therefore have a much higher FPS and turning speed.
Current day Peter would probably just ask Cardboard Silver what his opinion is, and then the video would hang on Silver for 15 seconds of total silence because he's made of cardboard and therefore cannot speak.
Loco means "mad/insane", is not a general term for chaos but more like a term for "out of your mind" people. But i thought the same, i thought, "ufff, that spanish-speaking representation didn't aged well… it doesn't even have anything with the game???" Until i read your comment, and your realization suddenly hit me like a train😂
The controls for lego island are broken on modern computers as the turn rate is fixed to the frame rate. Im pretty sure that there is a downloadable patch to fix the controls.
I've played about 90% of the games on this list. As a 5 year old, Lego Island was a hit with my friends and I. We'd have like 4 or 5 kids crammed onto one desk chair to watch each other play it.
Lego Island 2 had such a banger soundtrack as well. I remember having the DJ Radio Station song as my ringtone for a while as a kid. Come to think of it, I was planning on setting Asteroids as my ringtone recently, but completely forgot until now.
@@vidcas1711 Did you know there's 3 separate, somewhat different versions of it? There's the in-game version (also used for the parachuting minigame), a 'full' version, and a version from the composer's site, I believe as a sort of portfolio version.

Dude this whole video is a blast to the past. Enjoyed Lego Loco and Lego Creator really much as a kid, Lego Racers was also one of my most played games back then. Almost played all of the games you had there.

probably other comments pointed this out but there's a LOT more content in lego island when you play the other characters. my copy of lego loco was weirdly bugged where it wouldn't play any language other than spanish which is kinda funny. I think other people had this problem too.
Lego Loco was in such a weird spot in gaming, and I think whether someone enjoyed it or not really depended on what else a given kid was into. I had probably already played some Chris Sawyers Locomotion and Railroad Tycoon 2 by the time I got it, and got probably days worth of enjoyment out of Loco. But honestly, that's not the average sort of experience of most kids.
we could always play 15 minutes per pupil on the pc in elementary school, and since there were just 3 different games and me and my friends were into anno and settlers, we just played lego loco every single day we could. even back then i felt that the game lacked content, but we loved it anyway and compared our cities (and sometimes griefed each other since everyone had his saves in the same place , so everyone had access to everyones city ^^).
i Adored Lego Loco i played it so much as a kid and its kinda funny cuz city sims are REALLY not my style of games but for some reason i just loved this game so much
I was so surprised to see lego rock raiders look like that! I grew up with the ps1 version and its completely different, still mining based but you directly controlled a character and flew helicopters and drilled rocks to find a certain amount of rocks before the timer ended, it was awesome.
Xtreme Stunts and Rock Raiders were the ones I played most as a kid; I do have Lego Loco as well though. I have the original discs but not the original cases.
@@DanTheDuctTapeBall There's a Rock Raiders remake that has been completed yesterday. called Manic Miners. Took a bit but very worth it! And Lego themselves are okay with it luckily.

LEGO LOCO had easter egg when on halloween all the lego figures are replaced with skeletons figures and some buiding and interface changes to a spooky one, like a handle in interface being replaced by a bone or parks being replaced with graveyards. The thing is that in the country I'm from, we don't really have halloween and at the time it wasn't really known here, so as a kid I didn't have an idea why my little city turned into living graveyard and was really distressed because I though it was my fault that everyone (even the child minifigure that I was so happy to get) died. I never played it again since.

It seems so odd to call Lego Racers a Mario Kart clone and Lego Racers 2 not, considering Lego Racers 2's power-ups. Honestly, both games are flavors of Diddy Kong Racing. The original has a similar color-coded power-up system, while the sequel covers the adventure aspects.
Good on you for putting LEGO Racers 2 in S tier. Everyone always talks about the original, but I always thought the sequel was so much more fun. Spent countless days and nights on that as a kid.

You can emulate Drome Racers on Dolphin, which might not be the same as the PC experience, but is sure to be extremely close.
