I’m so excited to find your work. Very enjoyable to watch it evolve!I like your philosophy, very freeing! I have tried embroidery numerous times in my life, but then always stopped because my work always looked so messy. Who knew that the more messy, the more interesting and organic the work will be! I’loving it!! Thank you.
I would love it if you could do a weekly video showing you working on this piece. Not many actually embroider any more. They just come on and show what they’ve done and talk about it, which is fine sometimes, but I love to sit and chill while I watch people stitch and hear them talk about whatever they want. It’s so relaxing. This little piece is just precious ! I just found your channel recently and I’m enjoying it so much. Thanks for the inspiration
I’m so glad you are enjoying my channel. That’s a great idea For the channel. I’m actually doing something similar with the make along project I’ve started on my Ko-fi page. We’re making a underwater themed stitched piece together. If you are interested, all the information is here ko-fi.com/misti_ko/tiers
My heart sang when you said you’re a maximalist. I’m a proud maximalist too! ❤ “As a maximalist, I know that if I add more you won’t notice those things. The more stitches I add the less obvious that will be. I’m going to trust the process and believe that I can add more stitches.” - Being a maximalist is what makes your work delightfully beautiful. This is the quote i will remember while I stitch with you - “I would encourage you to not focus on individual stitches. Look at the overall composition and the beauty that you’ve created when you look at the whole thing, and stop worrying about mistakes.” -it is also what makes you an artist. Very wise… Now, after watching your third video in a row, I’m off to tear-up one of my sheets into a scroll and start watching from the beginning again. Thank you for sharing and for being so inspiring
Oh my, I have tears in my eyes (of happiness). My heart sings too, to know there are more of us out there. Thank you so much for this thoughtful comment.
I’ve been knitting some squares for a blanket to use up some old wool I’ve had since dinosaurs roamed the earth 😂 I’ve just come across your videos, and I’m loving them. Thank you 🤗🇬🇧
The chain stitch to attach the new piece to the tree is a totally new for me. And I really like that idea. Thank you. My mom taught me how to embroider when I was quite young . Just in this past year, like 60 years later, I have found that I was doing the chain stitch wrong all these years.
Thanks Julie, I couldn't find videos that show a variety of stitches in a relaxed imprecise way, so I thought I'd make some myself, and it looks like people like them
I'm so inspired by this series. I had been thinking about doing a scroll, using some large old wooden spools (5" - 12") but just couldn't seem to get started. You have inspired me to start small & just go! Thank you so much!
I really like this. Just found your channel and subscribed. Lord knows I have plenty of scraps that I just can’t throw away. Thank you for this tutorial! ❤
I’m sooooo addicted to your videos now! It’s so beautiful and incredible what you made and it’s kind of what I had in my mind and to see what you did amazed me! Thank you for sharing your craft. You are inspiring! ❤
Hi, just found your channel and I’m enjoying it very much. I love your idea of the scroll. When you were talking about your daughter commenting about you sewing left handed. I’m left handed also but I can sew with both hands but I get where you’re coming from.😊
I adore your videos, and your beautiful voice brings me peace. Thank you for taking time to explain everything so carefully and helping me believe I can make treasures of my own. Looking forward to more of your creations!! Happy New Year to you my friend. 🥰💕💐🌈🧵🪡🧵♥
l was wondering what to do in January. And today found your videos, So Spring scroll is on for next month. thank you for sharing this. l love embroidery
Good morning, I like very very You work❤ thanks You for all. No es muy bueno mi inglés pero explicas súper bien con tus manos las maravillas que realizas. God bless you😊
Un grand merci de partager ton travail. La broderie fait de façon simple et improvisé selon nos envies est la meilleure pour nous permettre de se réaliser. Merci encore et bonne journée. Bonjour du Québec
I am so enjoying this series, Misti!! ;))) It is very inspiring to see how you use these stitches...especially your use of yarn to demonstrate . May I ask how wide your strip is? I'm working on a simple, narrow snippet roll and will be practicing these stitches all along; i was just doing running stitches along the length, but I want now to add some of these other stitches, too:)))) Thank you so much for your wonderful tutorials...hugs, Julierose
I'm so glad you are enjoying it. I've never measured the scoll. It's quite small maybe under 2 inches tall. I just worked with a long strip of cloth that I already had. Running stitches are great and they can make some amazing patterns, but it's fun to include other stitches as well
Hi Misti, I love your garden and flowers slow stitch so much , so create my version of your beautiful art work but mine is mostly done with sewing machine using the build in stitches came with the machine and only few hand stitches. I don’t know how to attach the image to the comment.
Oh wow I love that you made your own version in your own way. I’d LOVeE to see it. Have you posted it anywhere else online, Facebook, instagram maybe where I can see it?
I'm planning a "make along" project for the new year that will emphasize freedom and creativity. It will likely be with a small monthly subscription fee though
If you look closely, you’ll see a rabbit in the scroll. I cut the shape from a small piece of cloth and then I stitched all over it with straight stitches that look like fur

Thank you so much! It’s all a matter of perspective.

Do you do the chain stitch backwards? I just recently found out that some people do it that way and think the way I do it is backwards.
Simply gorgeous!
Thanks
Lovely 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹😍 way to go with everything 😌
Thanks you so much
This is awesome and I’m also a lefty, so it’s nice to see someone who is also!😄

Thanks Julie, I couldn't find videos that show a variety of stitches in a relaxed imprecise way, so I thought I'd make some myself, and it looks like people like them
@@mistikomakes I like the imprecise way that you do them the best!

Thank you. I can do many things with both hands but it’s definitely easier for me to sew left handed
Oh my a beautiful shawl! I just found your channel today!

Glad you were inspired. I’m planning a stitchy make along starting in January with an underwater theme
Love your videos very creative!
Again, thank you so much!
Misti- I can see this stitching becoming a quilt label.
I wish!
I embroider my quilt labels - but not like you, your embroidery is inspiring. I will try following my energy that day and not so much sketch. 😬😁
Love it! ❤
Thank you! 😊
Great ideas.
Glad you like them!
Good morning, I like very very You work❤ thanks You for all. No es muy bueno mi inglés pero explicas súper bien con tus manos las maravillas que realizas. God bless you😊
Muchas gracias. Mi espanol no es muy bueno tambien. Hablo diez palabras solo.
Thanks for being left handed
Hee hee you are most welcome

Hello Misti,
First of all, I’ve noticed the shawls you wear on several of your videos, they are so beautiful & vibrant!! Did you make them?
Yes I did, thank you for noticing.
I'm here for the first time so please excuse this question. This is lovely, but what will you do with it?
Welcome. I made this as a sample for a class, admittedly it got carried away, but other than that I don’t have any specific plans for it.
😍😍😍😍🌷🌷🌷👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
obrigada novamente
!!!!!!!!!!!!
How long is your scroll? Did you piece the muslin together in sections and how long are those sections?
It is about 8ft long I think. I haven’t measured it. It is one long strip, but of course you could piece shorter lengths together if you like.
Thank you.
I really have to practice your techniques I can get a little more creative and free.
I'm planning a "make along" project for the new year that will emphasize freedom and creativity. It will likely be with a small monthly subscription fee though
I’m left handed and wondered how it looked normal to me.😂
I totally know what you mean!
How would make a rabbit?
If you look closely, you’ll see a rabbit in the scroll. I cut the shape from a small piece of cloth and then I stitched all over it with straight stitches that look like fur
