Ms. Mulligan, with due respect and a smile for you, with the unintentional drawing of a pink flower behind you, the leaves show perfectly at times that give you a 1950's (respectfully...) Playboy Bunny photo look. Brilliant! With love from my family to you, NE Wisconsin, US
It's a perfectly normal, clear, well-articulated British middle-class accent. Why would anybody not understand it? Millions of people speak just like her.
i love her, cause she is like, so young and professional and intelligent, AND incredibly gourgeous and with a great sense of style...basically a total inspiration
For an English student, her accent, rhythm, and tone of voice are spot on. Additionally, she uses a very diverse vocabulary. The same can be said for Benedict Cumberbatch and Eddie Redmayne.
The only reason I sat through the entire "Never Let me go" movie, in one go, is Carey Mulligan. She is the most cutest person on this planet. I was transfixed. Don't get me wrong I loved the movie but I have this habit of watching a movie over a period of time.
I love how passionate she is about the book and film. She sounds like she really thought about the situation and I think it helped her give a brilliant, authentic performance :)
The accent is standard English middle-class. Not in the least intriguing. She is simultaneously the most beautiful and the most intelligent of modern actresses.
I watched this because I just read an article about Carey Mulligan and The Great Gatsby. I couldn't see her as Daisy Buchanan, but after watching this interview, I totally can. Go Carey!
It is interesting what she said about her character having the least dialogue, but being in the most scenes, being engaging at the same time as being very silent while everyone talks around her. It made me think of Christina Ricci's character in The Man Who Cried.
Oh, and I loved her in Never Let Me Go. I loved the book, and had a hard time watching the movie, it's pretty morbid, but Carey, Keira and Andrew were fantastic!
She's so gorgeous, yet mature. I had hoped she was more giddy with a smaller sounding girly voice. She's 25 in this, but has a voice like a woman in her 40's. Oh well, still an incredible actress.
When looking for an actress to play Kathy, The 4 words that The President of Fox texted were ; "Hire the genius Mulligan." ....... this was after seeing a screening of "An Education".
I think, a lot of people who aren't living in the UK, have problems understanding the accent. Don't get me wrong, I love a British accent. And i think especially American people have trouble understanding it, because they're used to hear way different accents.
i respectfully disagree in this case. i watched wall street two and didn't really like the movie at all except for carey's character because she actually did such a good job.
I agree. Very stupid. I still have mine and am incredibly careful with it, being how fragile it is. What a great image it gives here. And how trusting Carey was with this tiny camera.

I love her voice and accent.

she is so beautiful. her accent, voice, face, talent, everything.

Can I just listen to her all day please
I've loved Carey since she was doing small tv shows! i'm glad she has made it! She's beautiful
i love her, cause she is like, so young and professional and intelligent, AND incredibly gourgeous and with a great sense of style...basically a total inspiration
She is so pretty! Really, really stunning!
Carey Mulligan is just the cutest thing!

She got the point.
She's intriguing accent, face and all. I want her

I didn't know women could be this beautiful.
i couldn't possibly adore her more
Carey Mulligan is just amazing. And her hair is perfect, haha.

@nevers4yforever you're also forgetting the great story and empathy of the movie :) As a whole its a bleak beautiful masterpiece!

@61Wilsonian Yeah, me too, man. Absolutely. I hope we don't find the same girl.
You can't understand her? Where are you from? (What country?)
I wish I could find a girl like her to be my girlfriend
i respectfully disagree in this case. i watched wall street two and didn't really like the movie at all except for carey's character because she actually did such a good job.
@kiikat She appears to be in a sort of mini-press conference, so the pen's probably writing what she's saying. =)
Wish I could understand her accent lol, cuz I'm really interested in what she's saying.
I agree. Very stupid. I still have mine and am incredibly careful

She is an outstanding actress but making "the girlfriend" in a Hollywood production relevant is an impossible task.
Irene
Are you saying that Carey Mulligan didn't look good?
smart
she looks small on film, but she is really tall for a girl 1,70 M not the petite girl vibe she passes
The things i would do...
It's the personality, not just the accent that's throwing me off, lol.
