Cameraman did a great job holding onto the roll over hoop at speed - you can feel the air battering the poor chap who really had his hands full trying to keep the boom microphone near the exhaust pipes and keep the camera centred.
Always love the comparison of a *very fast car* with a formula 1 car. It's often difficult to gauge just how fast F1 is without that type of visual yardstick.
Weirdly it's the same as a driver. When I moved to racing single seaters I didn't have much impression of how fast they were (other than a sore neck the following day), as I was just doing my thing. Much of the speed you feel in a car is relative to the car's capabilities, so a Caterham down a B road at 100mph feels like a Fiesta at 50mph. However, very early on, in my second or third race, we had a safety car come out and I was down into first gear at what felt like walking pace. Looking ahead, I gradually became aware that the safety car was absolutely on it, three wheeling through tight turns and drifting through fast ones. Yet I was dawdling, worried about losing tyre temperature. It was very eye opening!
I think it is MP4/5B (1990), not MP4/5 (1989). ①The windshield is made of carbon, not plastic. ②The wingtip plates are oval. (MP4/5 and until the 8th round of the 1990 season when the MP4/5B came out, it was triangular) ③The shape of the side pods is MP4/5B. (From another video) ④The sound is similar to that of the MP4/5B. (machine translation from Japanese)
The T.50 was a pace car that they weren't allowed to overtake. The F1 cars would've obliterated it otherwise :P It's fast, but not quite F1 fast :D Still a masterpiece of a car though :)
500kg, 710hp qualifying. I only driven it in a simulator. This car was aerodynamically unstable, the top black circle thing was added late season . Prosts Ferrari had better aero

Yes.
This camera angle is just perfect for this car!
Awesome to see it out on track.
👀
This is like seeing your teacher outside of school.
But you’re right! And they captured the sound excellently.
Didn't expect to see you here, Jimmy. Perhaps a video idea?
probably because its a 360 camera clipped up, but not graded...
@@alexbelmonte4581 It sounds more like a V10 in lower revs than what the FOM camera could capture back then yeh 🤩🤩
Now that’s how a formula 1 car should sound.

He must be a pro - a Go Pro ;-)
Loool this cameraman is top tier 🤣
What a legendary and brave cameraman!
you know that, cameraman can't feel anything and almost immortal right?

@@RobManser77 Nice insight!
I’m not sure what’s more impressive though. That T.50 was really moving from about 1:05 on!
@@RobManser77 first gear can't be that fast 🤔
@@RobManser77 that’s really awesome thanks for sharing that
I've recently just got into watching F1 racing all because of one drunken afternoon in the bar. Takes alot of skill to drive those cars.

Enjoyed the use of Alain Boisnard's camera style from the 1980s. Memories of lap of the gods.
It's why I clicked on it too!
Legendary!
Best Sounding F1s EVER
T.50 holding the same pace ? Pretty incredible too !

they aren't really pushing
F1 car was clearly not pushing tho
I'm quite jealous of British people. So much motorsport to attend in comparison with where I'm from.
What we really want, is these wonderful beasts getting a run without a pace car. Let's see just how quick a lap of Goodwood can be.
you calling the t.50 a pace car?
@@johnnytopgun6414 It was setting the maximum speed for the parade event, so, yes, it was working as a Pace Car.
The arrows he passed at the start set a proper lap, 1:09 I think
Thanks a lot, that’s amazing.
Beautiful, thank you.
A Real gearbox.
Real manual gearbox. Amazing.
Oh gosh, the GMA is really quick !
Senna Screams* V10 McLaren ........* trundles around mainly in 3rd gear.
and rev'limite when downshift
And hes flying thru gears aswell its insane

Only Bruno should be allowed to drive sennas cars haha
So mega
E Bruno Senna com o carro que seu tio foi campeão com ele show viu irado doido acelera Ayrton Senna
The glory days of F1. V10 engines and driving skill.
Today all computers and 2 meter wide cars.
The McLaren MP4/5 was also 2 meter wide
The MP4/5 is wider than today's cars, would take less than a minute to find it yourself, so this is you right here -> 🤡
Thank you! 🏁
Let's give credit to the creator of this amazing soundtrack and engineering -- HONDA.
This is the best 2 Hours video on TH-cam 👀
Oh *please* upload the whole run if you’ve got it!
So melodic 😁👍
Please show the Westlake trophy full race 🙏
Did anyone else start hearing Murray's voice?
Nice view 😉
Nice!
Do I spy Gordon Murrays new creation out ahead? 😁
Nossa mano muito loko isso
100!
The mic isn't really placed on the sweet spot.
Whatever is up front pulls away.....
The pace car
someone @ Lance Stroll, over 25 mirror checks in the lap, buddy could learn!
🔝🔝🔝
That’s a 5B not an mp4/5. The original1989 5 sounded even better
Entendo porque o sobrinho nunca chegará aos pés do tio, tira o pé numa curva aberta e é péssimo nas reduzidas
