Thanks so much for watching! Have any of you tried doing soap curls? I had so much fun making these. I ended up creating 3 different soaps and finally decided on this one for my entry. I may do a couple of quick videos showing my other two if anyone is interested.
You took your soap curls to a whole new level. I love all the difference ways you used to get them. What a beautiful soap. Top notch. I appreciate the link to the indigo powder. I really want to try to get some blue. The last two batches have produced green. Though I love green, I like color you are getting. Thanks for sharing you amazing video. Have a blessed week.
Thanks so much Holly. This is beautiful soap! And the music and filming...so relaxing. I see that you had linked the stainless steel pots in this video, that I had asked about in the comments of a different video. Thanks so much for that. I’m recovering from an orthopedic surgery and so grateful for this opportunity to learn new things about soapmaking. I had come to a place where some really weird things were occurring to my soaps after many years of soap making and I was discouraged. Your videos, along with Katie’s (Royalty Soaps) and Mrs. Soap & Clay’s videos have been immensely encouraging during my recovery time. I’m ready to start again. God bless you for being so sweet and helpful.
Thank you so much! I hope you’re recovering quickly and that you’re able to make soap again soon! Thank you for taking the time to leave such kind comments. I truly appreciate it. 💕😊
These are simply gorgeous, as always Holly! And I was thrilled to hear you talking in your video! I'm could listen to your sweet voice all day long! 😍🤗😘
Holly, you're doing so great with your new mic and video equipment! But this soap design you did with this one is "sensational as usual"! What I love about it is that no matter which bar you look at, while each *may* be different, the design makes them all meld together in a such a beautifully, elegant way. I LOVE it!
Thank you SO much, Lisa! It's still hard for me to hear and edit my own voice, so I really appreciate you saying that. Thank you for your kind words about my soap, too! ❤️
@@hollysoapmaking I could honestly listen to you all day. You have a beautiful and soothing, elegant and sophisticated voice. But I completely understand self-criticism. I went to that college too and got my master's in it. LOL!
I tried to imagine how you would create this effect but it so clever and beyond what I ever imagined. Beautiful and such fun to watch. You are very patient to make all those curls! Great job.
Beautiful video and soap! Thank you for sharing Holly! I love the design and how well the curls pop against the blue background. I look forward to seeing more! 🥰
I'm studying to become an English teacher and I think I can use this in a class some day. When I first saw the thumbnail my mind went nuts trying to figure out how it's done and it turned out to be something so simple which is something you can really apply to learning. So thank you so much for this video! Also, I am noe officially a new subscriber! 😊🌻🌹
So beautiful. I made my very first soap last week - a 100% Castile suitable for newbies. I was thrilled to bits that it actually worked and is now curing. Can't wait to try it!
I had not seen this one done before, just taking it to another top shelf level. Amazing transformation so delicately made too. I see your gentleness and love in all you do. A bit to hard for me at this time. Appreciate your video. 💙
So gorgeous! I love the simplicity of the design and the fun ways you figured out how to create variety with your curls! The halo effect around the curls from gel phase really looks neat too. :) I think we'd all love to see your other two designs as well!
I like the free form curls! Very unique and different. I have thought about combining peppermint with orange, they are two of my favorite scents, I may do it now that I have seen you do it!
Thank you so much, Glenda! I tried orange and peppermint together in another soap and loved it. Now I find myself using it all the time. It has such a unique, fresh scent in finished soap.
Fun and beautiful at the same time is hard to pull off without the dreaded "cute" and wow did you deliver! Thanks for sharing your knowledge and craft! ~ Sarah
I didn't notice when I first watched this but I see a 'shadow' around some of the curls. Was it permanent or did it change as it cured? I am always so impressed with your designs and the easy-to-follow process. And I love listening to your instruction, very calm and almost serene. Thank you for sharing.
Oh great! You are a passionate soap maker. Recently I started watching your videos .I loved your cool way of soap making.I too tried a charcoal soap.,as a trial.Just satisfied 🙄.I got tensed while pouring into the moulds 😭. Practice makes a man perfect, right? I will do it 😁. Thank you so much for sharing your experiences...❤️❤️
I love it, Holly! The way you curled your soap is so fun and creative! I love your color combination too! (It's the weirdest thing, I was picking color swatches for my next soap, and I chose white and gray this morning before I saw this.🤭 Who knows if I'll use it, but I just may, since it looks so good in your soap.) Best of luck to you in the challenge! Beautiful soap and video, Holly! 💕✨
Thank you so much, Teri! The grayish color was actually a bit of an accident (I expected more blue), but I really ended up liking it. I don’t think I’ve ever made a soap this color before. 😊
Beautiful! I love all the different swirls and curls! What an amazing job, as always! I loved getting to hear your voice. I’m a Tennessee girl too who’s recently moved to Indiana and I sure do miss hearing that southern drawl! I get a lot of “where are you from?”! 😂😂
Thank you so much, Belinda! My southern accent is so thick. I keep having to re-record when I add too many syllables to words. LOL Hope you’re enjoying Indiana. My husband worked in Indianapolis for a time and we thought it was a neat place. :)

Hello, your soaps are magical, thank you for this beautiful Video. I have à question about the translucent soap planeryou use to, where does it Come from? I looking for one like this, thanks for your answer.
Thank you so much! My favorite soap planer (the larger one I used for the curls) was purchased from a seller on Etsy called Custom Soap Stamps (www.etsy.com/shop/CustomSoapStamps). The smaller one was purchased from a business that has since closed. I've tried to find one similar to link, but I've not had any success. They're both bladeless, and I really prefer that.

Amazing. You are such an artist and I enjoy your videos!

So beautiful! Thank you for sharing! Is the reason to go through gel because the texture will be easier to bend?
Thank you! Yes, soap that hasn’t gelled will most likely break when you try to curl it. Gelling makes it more pliable.
This is a lot of prep and work, but worth it. I love the end result. Beautiful soap! ♥️
Thank you!
I absolutely love your artistic creations. Bravo!

I was wondering, when you say make sure you have good ventilation in the room when making soap, do you mean open a window, use a fan, or what exactly do you mean? I live in a double wide trailer, and it's kinda hard to know where I would soap? I want to do the homemade soap, first time and I don't want to kill anyone with the lye fumes lol, seriously!
When I made my first batch about 8 years ago, I was nervous about the lye, too. I actually mixed my water and sodium hydroxide on the porch, then I brought it inside after it cooled a bit. After that first batch, Ive just used my stove vent hood (initially in my kitchen and now in my soap shop). Once you make a couple of batches and get familiar with the chemical reaction, you’ll feel so much more comfortable and have a safe routine down that you’re comfortable with. The main things (besides eye and skin protection) are to not stand over the lye or breathe in the fumes and keep all pets and kids out of the room.
