It's not common to see a pro show his/her difficulties and provide a good way to improve. Pros usually show themselves as skilled people who teach how to play, Daria does, but she makes us "normal players" deal with her own difficulties and overcome them, this means that she's very humble and really wants to improve even though she's already a champion. Good job Daria, if you maintain this approach to the game, you'll win everything during your career and others pros will learn from you!
My dad is trying to show me how to lift my ball. He is also asking me to touch my shoulder with my thumb for having more energy and speed in my ball. He shows me some of your video to help me understand some movements that I have to do. It's a lot of work, but you still reminding me to never give up even if it's hard. Keep doing what you like the most.💕 You are really a inspiration for me and my little sister. You make us believe in our development. Maybe someday we will be like you❤
One of the best videos on LOFT. So hard to do consistently but absolutely necessary on fried heads. Also some of the dumbest comments I've ever read, LOL. Welcome to the internet Daria
jeepers, I needed to be able to do this yesterday in a tournament. still got 5th, but there was no oil left, right of 5th arrow and I was struggling to lay it down between 4th and 5th arrows consistently . so 2 things I will be practicing this week before going up against a 39' "challenge" pattern this coming weekend. lofting the gutter and playing straight up the 8 board. the previous weekend I had troubles playing straighter before the pattern broke down, then it played into my wheelhouse, while the other folks struggled.
Such a beautiful young angel with great talent. I wish her many blessings of a beautiful future. While I may never get to meet her in real life I can at least watch her great talent here.
what ball/layout you using jj? that ball is revving up really well for just a stroke thru release. got a pic of the layout? I remember you telling me that you use 3 layouts once. I'd like a lesson with JJ. I'm not far from kegel.
I watched Steve Jarros throw 300 game on paid next to me and he was sliding about a foot further to the left on both lanes. I was impressed. I've never been comfortable throwing over left gutter to strike right side of pocket. I can play deep but not that deep ;-(
Although i may not agree with your sentence that lofting is a essential skill in today's bowling, i do find it very impressive that people have the ability to switch to it, during a game day, because of the burnout of the lanes. The reason i say it's not essential is because there are other way's to deal with burnout lanes, lowering rev rate and axis tilt/rotations for example or changing material that act much more differently. I prefer switching material combined with a different angle of attack and keeping my motion the same, because i am not that skilled. Also for my stroker/tweener style with not more than 350 revs i have never needed to do lofting. Still i would love to learn how to do this, but my free time is limited currently which prevents me from a good practice session nowadays. I do agree that if you can loft, and are consistent with it, do it. Because you will be able to play much longer in "fresh" oil. Keep up the good work Daria, love seeing you play. You have great potential to become one of the greatest female bowlers ever.
Totally agree, lofting is insane too me, the more boards you cross the more accurate you have to be. What happened to switching balls for diff conditions. lol
Lofting is a necessary tool ONLY if you're planning to go full time on the pba. And even on the pro tour, lofting only occurs on occasion during the longer qualifying formats. The US Open is one example. But 85% of pro bowling has no loft. It's just an extra skill to hone. Nothing wrong with it. Changing balls works as well but these newer bowling balls dry up the HEADS of the lanes. Dry lanes at your normal league night is very different from lanes where the heads are also dry. Your ball turns left the moment you place it on the lane regardless of how weak it is. So lofting is an easy alternative. Just takes practice and it's fun.
Is Loft good or bad? I bowl just like that but I always thought it was bad. It has taken me YEARS to learn how to bowl like that because my hands SWEAT real bad. I have never seen ANYONE who's hands sweat like mine. Makes Bowling very difficult and hard to be consistent. Even so - I LOVE IT!
That very first shot actually hooked quite _late_ compared to what it would do on a chewed up lane in my home center. I think it didn't make it back because the lane's not broken down enough to build a read from that far inside.
Double bounce can be a problem with lofting, but it just takes work! I loft if all else fails. Lifting m has its own issues all together, and sometimes usurps the reason why I switched to begin with...
Knowing how to loft would have really helped me out at pepsi this year. The lanes we're a light house shot and everything I had including my plastic ball was hooking way to much. I tried to stand left and loft over the gutter but I just couldn't figure it out. Averaged like 150...
To my eye, Daria's release is complicated - her ball hand is 'busy', in the effort of increased revs. Would a simpler technique hold up more consistently under pressure?
No...lofting works well when the heads get burnt, but there is still oil in the midlane. When you need to get past the first 15' of burn to get to the oil so the ball doesn't roll out early, lofting works. Dry lanes work better with super clean pearl balls and keeping your angles tight.
Matemate damn thats good! idk ive been practicing for a while and it just doesnt feel right, bowling is a feel sport and cranking doesnt feel right for me
Nice video!!! I have a tendency to loft regularly. I used to have a high loft, but don't loft as much as I used to. I'm gradually learning to lay it down sooner.
Call me old fashioned but it seems like this style is fighting against the physics of bowling. It's much easier to stand to the right and release the ball smoothly, with minimal loft and let it hook more gently into the pocket for a strike.
I'm still practicing lofting. Last night the burn was so bad that I needed to be past 5th arrow and that forces me to loft the gutter, but I can't keep my speed up.
bernard koey I just started bowling three months ago, and I'm just now getting it down packed decently. I did try 2hand for a few weeks never could get the skip step right for the ball speed to match the revs.
@@Gabriel.Gmoney444 ...🤔... I'm pretty sure your interpretation of "gutter cap" isn't accurate. And have you been bowling lately... there isn't exactly an abundance of attractive female bowlers with a fraction of her skill out there... so yeah.. she's a freak'n unicorn🦄
First thing i noticed when you release your pulling your arm across your body, ur right hand is going towards your left shoulder, and boom 0:58 your right hand went to your right shoulder and it was a perfect ball, you also seem to beat yourself up by not hitting a strike, your practicing chill out
Idk why people always have to play such a big line, most of her shots the ball flattened at the end and lost most of it's energy. Nice consistent release and speed tho.
You do realize this is in the kegel training center, the entire point IS loft practice. You can't just wait until you need to do something, to practice it. You must practice it even when it's not needed to hone the skill for when you need it. If she was trying to score here I'm sure she wouldn't be doing that.
John’s got one of the smoothest swings I’ve ever seen.....great bowler.

100% agree on this... it's inspiring to see a pro humble themselves and show struggle, progress, and success...

Ève Auclair throw it like a softball to get more revs. Easy :D
Cameron Potts I don’t know how to throw a softball but I can get 480 revs on a bowling balll one handed

Great video for those blocked shots. She throws a beautiful swing and so does the guy.
Good music! Loved the ghost image footage at the end.

Damn, that's a nice armswing and release. I have always like John's game but hers is just fantastic.
On a sidenote, if you want to learn about loft, ask Mika. That dude lofts even when it's not necessary.
And on a completely different sidenote, i think his name is spelled John Janawicz
I don't "know how to bowl" but I occasionally play, and when I do I bowl like this because i have a lot more fun this way.

CanesFan65 it's necessary on a 36 foot shot on tha double burn
That very first shot actually hooked quite _late_ compared to what it would do on a chewed up lane in my home center. I think it didn't make it back because the lane's not broken down enough to build a read from that far inside.
2nd shot (red ball) definitely did check up early.
Double bounce can be a problem with lofting, but it just takes work! I loft if all else fails. Lifting m has its own issues all together, and sometimes usurps the reason why I switched to begin with...
nice hit and styles i also trainer this game--- excellent
Very good tactic. The people who dont like the loft are only mad because they cant perfect it.......
Big like 👍 for merging the last strikes .. woooow
how to attack the line?? daria tell me Plz~~ :)
im honestly jealous of that oil pattern, our house shot is like 32"
Knowing how to loft would have really helped me out at pepsi this year. The lanes we're a light house shot and everything I had including my plastic ball was hooking way to much. I tried to stand left and loft over the gutter but I just couldn't figure it out. Averaged like 150...
There is no way you had to loft the gutter with a plastic ball.
lol... in korea we've met such very dry lane... I told the way like this video... it's the reason I don't throw within crank.. I am sprinter...
hi daria can i ask you to explain the play with angle and how calculating the angles? thanks
I’m a college coach, this line is very difficult to hit consistently, thus I do not teach it. But congrats. Good looking approach.
Why wouldn't you teach your kids how to play all over the lane?
I am barely managing to loft from 3 boards left of middle dot, it breaks your comfort zone, but it defenitely opens up the lane on dry conditions
Was that a Roto Grip Wrecker J.J. was throwing?
Awesome video... Love watching Daria tackle these lanes mentally.
Quick question: how far down the lane did JJ put the tape on board 15? 50 feet?
Cool!!
i know they're practicing. but which oil pattern requires this sort of loft? I see it in tournaments sometimes but don't know the names
It's more practice on what to do when the lanes break down and your line is really dry
Its quite hard to maintain; ball speed+finger movement+where to throw the ball+energy while throwing the ball+focus; in whole game
Is that red one a 900 global boost cardinal?
This was really cool to watch 👍
finally i found your channel been looking a long time for it your the best and most amazing bowler and woman ive seen
I want to enroll for this class. Please
You probably can't afford it! It isn't bad if you have 4 people, but by yourself is rather steep!
To my eye, Daria's release is complicated - her ball hand is 'busy', in the effort of increased revs. Would a simpler technique hold up more consistently under pressure?
Have you ever tried to spin the other way? I tried that once and regretted it for a week
Awesome video
I'm going to ask my bowling center if I can walk on the ball return caps and put tape on the lanes . I dont see any problem at all .
I use more power by also using one hand but when went it left one cone I use two hand.
That was beautiful, but problem I saw was the tiny double bounce that made the ball Rev too late, other than that you guys do it perfectly.
nice shot
I play that same area on the lane!! Not nearly as impressive since I'm a lefty! 😂
Lofting works well when lanes dry ! Dont you think ?
No...lofting works well when the heads get burnt, but there is still oil in the midlane.

Dry lanes work better with super clean pearl balls and keeping your angles tight.
Where bowl you can't line up that far left because there is a wall there. It sucks.
Does anyone know what to do when the lane starts to break down?
loft
I started to see more of the roll phase the farther into the video I went.
Wow!!!
that most definitely is not usually needed for us as lefties :) :P
That's great

you are awesome
I'm still practicing lofting. Last night the burn was so bad that I needed to be past 5th arrow and that forces me to loft the gutter, but I can't keep my speed up.
Why are they so far to the left
Because the pattern of oil is very light, it's to practice what to do when the lanes are really dry
The music fit the video nicely.
