This truck employs both methods with the pusher axles and the rear drop axle. In most states (Federal Bridge Law States) this truck could legally have an 80,000 pound GVW which is the same as a semi with a trailer. The advantage to this setup, is once on the jobsite, the axles come up and the truck is much more maneuverable that a semi with a trailer carrying the same weight.

chackos123 in China 3 axle trucks carry 100K pounds. And it's GVW is 130K. 5 axle GVW is up to 200K.
