    This video is a bit longer because I combined footage from 3 days of working in my classroom. I hope you enjoy!

    After seeing how much teachers really go through getting ready for the school year we really need to appreciate what our teachers do for us because it’s hard work

    • @PrimarilyYours
      @PrimarilyYours  4 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      It is hard work, but we are willing to do it for our students! :)

      I wish this is how my teachers were. I personally hate teachers. No offense you seem like a sweet and really good teacher. I feel like in school students are not appreciated for what we do yet teachers are. Just doesn’t seem fair. That’s just my opinion. (I subscribed to your channel)

    • @PrimarilyYours
      @PrimarilyYours  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AMK16 I'm sorry you feel that way based on your past experiences, Alaina! I try hard to let me students know how much I appreciate their efforts when I notice they are working hard, working kindly together, etc. I think the appreciation could definitely go both ways - for both teachers and students! Thanks for subscribing :)

      @primarily yours, you seem like an awesome teacher who loves all her students and strives to make them feel welcome in your classroom. It’s good to know that not all teachers are like mine!

    Since you're not keeping all of the seasonal books out all the time, you could just have one bin labeled "seasonal books" rather than labeling 10 bins with the different months. Just swap out the books in the one seasonal bin.

    As someone who is about to student teach in the spring, seeing you prepare your classroom makes me so excited to graduate and start in my own classroom! I had to get that Classroom Management book for a class I’ve taken and I know I will definitely be using it in my future classroom! I also had to get a book called “Seven Simple Secrets” that I think will also be very beneficial as well and I highly recommend it. I hope your school year is going great so far!

    If you want to use other categories in your library you can turn the bin around and put two months on each bin one on the front and one on the back so then when a new month comes around you can just take the old month books out flip the bin and put in new books.... then you will have extra bins for other categories

    Maybe you should take the 2 months (the moth that it is right now and next month) and out them in the library and sort the books then once those two month are over change them to the next two months. Sorry if that’s confusing. But bacsically only keep two bins in your library for the next 2 months then change them to the next two months once those are over

      Goodwill and garage sales are your best friends for books, games, play to learn stuff, and other activities! Facebook marketplace and garage sales are great places to find furniture for the classroom. Sales at Hobby Lobby and Michael’s will be your best bet for storage units and Big Lots has TONS of great bins. Make sure you google and see if there are coupons for stores you’re going to. Target Dollar spot has LOTS of great decor items and small activities directed at teachers and for school. Five Below (if you have one) has a ton of pillows and decor, and occasionally bins. Good luck!!!!

Most of my books I've gotten at thrift stores, Scholastic Book Clubs website, Scholastic warehouse sale, or my Amazon wishlist :) I saved up all of my birthday, graduation, & Christmas money for about four years so that I could purchase all of my storage bins, learning games, etc. this summer when it was time! :)

      Thank you so much!
      They are from Maria Gavin on TPT. I cut off the colored edges and mounted them on the aqua scrapbook paper :)

      I used a protectant spray on the pillows so that they wouldn't get dirty as quickly and I could spot-clean them more easily :)

    You print, laminate and then cut them out?
    I know it saves time that way but i find my labels and such peel if i do it that way so i always print, cut, laminate, cut

    • @molly.stevens.1228
      @molly.stevens.1228 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you use a personal laminator it is a thicker and better quality lamination so you can cut through it will no peeling.
      The lamination typically used for school laminators is very thin and will definitely peel if you try to cut through it.

    • @PrimarilyYours
      @PrimarilyYours  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It depends on what it is - sometimes I cut first, sometimes I don't. If it's something the kids are going to handle, I will cut the paper, laminate, then cut again but leave a border so it doesn't peel :)

    If you store them in a separate box when you're not using them you could label each cubby on the shelf twice and just flip it around :)

    Question: HOW do you get away with cutting AFTER lamination? I always have to cut first, then laminate, then cut again (with a slight border around) otherwise my lamination splits and it is a huge nightmare!!! Anybody else with me on this? What am I missing lol

    • @PrimarilyYours
      @PrimarilyYours  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question! It really depends for me to be honest, haha - it depends on if I am using my personal Scotch laminator (thicker) or the school laminator (thinner). And I also think about if it's something that the kids will be handling. For example, my sight word cards that will stay on the wall just as reference all year, I just laminated the whole sheet then cut. But for our sight word game cards that the kids will be touching every day, I cut, laminated, then cut again so I could leave a border :) Honestly, I think I have kind of just gotten lucky that my stuff hasn't peeled! haha

    • @PrimarilyYours
      @PrimarilyYours  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      We get about $250 each year to purchase supplies like pencils, crayons, gluesticks, tape, etc. Anything beyond that is provided by teachers (if you want - not required!) :)

      Blake banjanyy I was wondering why she did that .

    • @artecrafter4349
      @artecrafter4349 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      She made 2 spaces for A and B so she missed the C that's why there's an extra space.

    • @PrimarilyYours
      @PrimarilyYours  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Later on I added the word "and" in between Y and Z. I left the space because I hadn't made the "and" yet :)

    • @PrimarilyYours
      @PrimarilyYours  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Because I teach at a public school. I am a Christian, but any sort of specifically-religious books are not allowed in our public school classrooms in the district where I teach. I wish I could, Andreah! :)

      @muvakyoto 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      “forcing religious views” arent allowed in public schools. teachers arent allowed to say the religion or political views
