I recall a couple years back, TH-cam reactor & BTS fan Jim Games also made fun of this, noticing they said American & not English, when he was reacting to this Boracity video.
15:25 BTS isn't played on North American radio stations not because of the language but because their record label doesn't pay to play them and inflate the numbers. Paying radio stations to promote a certain artist isn't a permitted practice but record labels have been known to do it.
the jonas brothers have always been super supportive of bts and other kpop groups!! and their comeback served more as a healing journey for them rather than a comeback solely rooted in monetary reasons. they had grown apart as brothers and as musicians and found their passion again for music as a family and got to heal a lot of personal issues they were dealing with!! they’re the boy band i grew up so i’ll always love them dearly and it’s so cool to see them still be successful to this day and also not resort to knocking down bts or kpop groups cuz they can appreciate music regardless of where it comes from!! 🫶🏼
I’m in the US. My daughters became aware of Kpop in 2011-2012. My first time hearing them and their friends talking about BTS was 2014-2015. A couple of them were huge fans of BTS.
The song in the bg is a piano version of 'still with you' by jk. Kind of jazzy, I think you'll like it Jurn. Ps- you were at your sassiest i have seen you lately. Also you seemed more energetic. Hope you're getting enough rest while pursuing your dreams 😊
yeah they were good, i liked them before finding bts!! they are vocally strong and had some viral interviews bc they were funny but they had mistreatment problems with their label and had to stop for a while and when they came back covid striked and ig they had a change of plans and went solo. they’re still friends though. and just as a fun fact, two of their members took of songwriting for who by lauv ft bts
Hi Jurn! I was into boys band when I was 10/12 years old, then I discovered music so I quit listening Boys band. More than 25 years later, I became ARMY cuz of the music. I know BTS is technically a boys band, but for me, they are more like an Artists collective. Anyway, we can't compare them... Love when you're super sassy! Don't forget to rest, fighting ^^
Right, boy bands are usually structured differently with a front man with some slightly less talented members who have a few lines and/or sing backup. They inevitably separate, saying it’s temporary and never reform. One Direction didn’t follow this exactly but, did separate and never reformed (now impossible to do completely…sadly) and the Jonas Brothers who came back together because well, they’re brothers.
I grew up with the 90s/2000s boy bands. Many have done comebacks over the years. To me it seems they are able to get their loyal fans hyped (nostalgia) but fail to obtain new fans. Any new music from those 90s/2000s boy bands aren't as good as their earlier works. Many even go the Christmas album routine in order to have something new to offer. I appreciate BTS continues to bring new music and even change up styles.
Even though I have been aware of them & respect them, I never was a One Direction listener nor a fan, even up to today & probably never will care to, but shoutout & much respect to Liam Payne with his quote at the end of this video. RIP Liam. 11/30/24
RIP Liam Payne. My daughter was a directioner and she was shook by his tragic death. I didn’t know he said that about BTS. Huge respect for him for being honest and objective.
I was a why don’t we fan before becoming an army and when they finally got the freedom to make their own music on their own that album was so good . Their best work till date. Too bad they are on “hiatus” now cause of a legal battle with their management due to mistreatment cause I felt they had a very promising future.
So.....until BTS, my music was mostly country. Before that, because I am that old, the last "boyband" I liked was the Beatles. And thats AFTER the Temptations, The Turtles, Huey Lewis and the News and on and on! But sincerety, talent, hard work, lyrics and humbleness....was what won me over to BTS. Just like everyone else, dont understand a word of Korean, but understand good music! And the other B bands pointed out that couldnt make it? They did not show that drive.... If I could "Re-SUBSCRIBE" 500 times to get you to 20,000 I would!!!!❤ P.S., I know your not that into us old people music, but Ive been playing V's Winter Ahead and that song is beautiful, but the MV is a mind bending masterpiece! React or not, but give it a listen!😊
And now we have multiple american/global/british groups formed after the kpop system, more planned and 2 labels gearing up to have latin american groups and
The groups shouldn’t be trying for instant success. They’ll only work if they take the time to grow their success, and make Decent music, and relate to their own fans, and don’t become D!cks while they’re at it! Sorry.
You might already know that Boracity also made another video about the KPop side of this trend, where other KPop bands were also trying to replicate and/or takeover BTS without much success, because they only focused on certain parts of it & not looking at the whole picture of why BTS is/was dominating in the same way the western side of it is also trying to do & also failing.
Umi & V and JK & Kid Laroi & Central Cee are examples of good artists getting to work with them. JCole & Usher are examples of them working with good artists. they love to do collabs if it is good music. these other boy bands trying to take the top spot wouldn't know true artistry if it was presented to them in an 'american' picture book
14:06 If this dude is trying to get women to listen to his group's music, then it's not a good idea to look down on your potential audience. "Girls are singing in Korean and I don't even know if they know what they are singing." If looking up lyrics is a strange concept to you, Mr. 'I'll sing American', don't assume it is that for everyone else, too.
14:41 He's wrong! BTS will get played as soon as they pay, or the industry can reliably make money off of them in some other way. They don't want to offer them anything and cooperate, they want BTS to offer themselves up and be more controllable now that they've established a market. There's a reason why BTS never signed with an American label, unlike most other acts! They're looking for real friends and partnerships, fair deals, and artistic independence. As usual, they're playing the long game. Music is about sincere connection first and foremost. 🤟 💜
@@bereasonable8018 Hi sweetheart! 😘 They're looking for sincere connection and mutual understanding - a life well lived and longevity as artists. They are in a maze. 💜
@@bereasonable8018 BTS slowed their rise down on purpose, to preserve their integrity and reputation, and not lose themselves. They had many more opportunities. They pick their battles! It's so weird, that after BTS opened some doors, all the other K-Pop artists are just signing full-on contracts with American labels. I guess they didn't get it, but think that they are following BTS' footsteps... Good luck! 🤷♀️ 💜
@ yeah I think the other Kpop groups lost their way in their pursuit of being more successful than BTS. It stopped being about connecting with their fans on a meaningful level and more about rushing through the door to break records or get awards before BTS.
@@bereasonable8018 It'll all show in the coming years. BTS will do their thing, however they want to. And these 'artists' will have some successes of course, but not much of that will be truly theirs, and then they get replaced... Rinse and repeat. The American labels are trying to get a big piece of the pie! They're signing all of them. This is very dangerous for K-Pop in general. Stay in your pond or get sucked dry. Either way, they win.
If we’re talking the American music market and terrestrial radio he isn’t wrong. Is the need to do what he did wrong yes but that’s the system that works. Despacito pre JB vs after his feature was added. I don’t agree but that’s what the system wants.
The piano playing in the background is Still With You by Jungkook
thank you i knew it was a BTS song but i couldn't identify it.
Another one of JK’s gems…. The lyrics to this song is soooo beautiful…
13:35 "Let your music speak for you. Your music is your sword" Standing ovation!!! 👏👏👏👏
"I'll sing American" is killing me
this remind me that one guy on tt who says oh in england they talk english too.
I recall a couple years back, TH-cam reactor & BTS fan Jim Games also made fun of this, noticing they said American & not English, when he was reacting to this Boracity video.
Just by him saying "he has to be an American or sing in English" shows how much quality he has as an 'artist'
even worse, he keeps saying singing in "american" instead of english lmao
@ exactly

The radio pay is the secondary issue. The language is still the first. But the boys don’t play they so they find other ways

You could put Lady Gaga and Beyonce on a song with BTS and unless they're paying for it - it's still not going on mainstream radio
