    I’ve always been super lazy when it comes to hitting legs, more specifically glutes, but I feel like it’s really because I don’t know how to structure my glute workouts properly to maximize growth.. so this video truly helped me create a specific glute day in my program! Thank you !!!!

    I have a lower back injury from a slip and fall about a year ago that seems to flare up every so often. I always suspected that it was my piriformis muscle, so I stopped doing hip abduction and have had very little pain if any at all since I gave it up. I did more research on it and you're actually not supposed to over work your piriformis because it can aggravate the nerves around it causing sciatica like pain, which I'm pretty sure is what was happening to me!

    • @MeganBungato
      @MeganBungato  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      this is super interesting and i'm sure could be helpful to a lot of people watching to know about as well! i used to LOVE the hip abduction machine because i thought it was shaping my hip/glute region but learning that it targets more piriformis led me to take it out of my routine

    I believe for the hip thrust,I’ve never done it but I believe it’s prob same concept as working a calf,slow down on the way up and hold squeeze push a bit more and bring it back down,fast like that prob won’t be the best,but eiii if it’s working it’s working so no need to change.

What are your thoughts on glute activation or activation in general! If you could do a harmstring ( lenght short position would be great😉) thanks again

  • @cymgarza1
    @cymgarza1 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    How often do you do your glute workout?? Do you do the one you mentioned 3x a week for 3 months? Or do you do different ones including that one in the 3 months.

    • @MeganBungato
      @MeganBungato  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      i only do a glute-focused leg day once a week and then the other leg day i do is more quad-focused but still incorporates some of these movements! i would say create a glute-focused day and be consistent with it for a few months aiming to get stronger at each movement over time! :)

    Can’t I start with hip thrusts and then do Kas Bridges after all my compounds later? Or do I need to choose one of the two

    • @MeganBungato
      @MeganBungato  ปีที่แล้ว

      yes!!! you can absolutely do several compounds in a day / decide which order to prioritize based on your preference! key is just to keep compounds first and try not to get redundant (for ex: doing both good mornings AND RDLs in one session) 💗

  • @selxwrld

    i've been doing the same exercises for about 2 months and i'm not feeling sore anymore which makes me want to switch them up have you got any advice for that? i'm struggling with my workouts because i don't know if they're effective anymore.. lmk!

    • @excusemewhat7809
      @excusemewhat7809 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not feeling sore doesn't mean the exercise is not working anymore, just means your body got used to that movement/exercise, you might feel sore if you increase the weight or add variation to that exercise.
      If whatever exercise you're doing feels easier than before, means you're making progress and you can start adding weight!
      Switch up your workouts every 2-3 months (more or less) if you feel like you're stalling/not making more progress in that specific exercise.
      Rinse and repeat.

    • @MeganBungato
      @MeganBungato  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      the person who replied before is right! soreness isn’t an indicator of muscular recruitment/growth/effectiveness. in general though aiming to challenge yourself each session in some way will contribute to progressive overload / muscle growth! for example: focusing on form, slowing the movement down, decreasing rest time, making it a drop/add set, changing rep schemes, and ofc adding weight! :)

    Love this video! Question... do you track your macros? I'm starting intuitive eating (after having quite a negative relationship with tracking) and would love if you could film a video on how you reach your protein goals without tracking (if that's what you do). Thanks! xxx

      i wear my notorious lift slippers for my entire leg day! though they are called "deadlift slippers" they are a great option as a leg day shoe since they are flat soled, have a wide toe box, and have proper grip to the floor! once i got my first pair i've never gone back to my vans :)
