Nice work week. I’ve got two Bradfords to take down here at home. Always something to do on off days for sure. Oh those pesky pencils. Never what you want.
Love your videos and your humor. Plus you give me confidence every time someone asks me why I don't have a chipper. Thanks. I have a question -- for a couple trees you made the back cut and set a wedge before cutting the notch. What led you to do that?
Good hearing from ya man. Yeah I avoid the old chippers whenever possible -- good to hear that approach works for you too. :) As for the back cut first, I tend use that method on smaller diameter trees with lean. Placing the backcut first means you have a fighting chance of getting a wedge in there. If ya wait to do the backcut last on a thinner tree, it's hard to set the wedge. Now, you can also remove just 1/4 of the backcut and slip the wedge in there, but lean and species of tree have to be just right.
Thanks for sharing your week with us Spencer! Question - Since you work outdoors what do you do for disease carrying critters, namely mosquitos and ticks? Do you use bug spray with deet or picaridin or do you treat your clothes with permethrin or none of the above? Be well and be safe :)
I've been pretty luck so far by treating my pants with permethrin ... it seems to keep the ticks from crawling on up. As for mosquitos they don't bother me much but I do keep some deet on hand if I'm working in a really badly infested area (rare around here, thanksfully). and then there is the sunscreen so the truck is kinda like a traveling lotion and ointment shop :)

I guess I'd say 3-6 quotes a week or something like that -- it really varies for me and sometimes (like today) they come in hot and heavy. And I try to turn them around in 24 hours and usually get that done. But you know how it is: sometimes things get slow and sometimes not so much. Hard to balance it all for sure but still satisfying.
yeah I put it together pretty fast from some own line. It's a bit squishy for my taste so I'm looking for another length of rope for that one. Gotta get it just right, ya know
Hey buddy -- I worried about moving the business but jobs just came flowing in nice and steady. I did the usual stuff: internet marketing mainly, as well as spreading the word some with folks around town. word of mouth is great, as you say ...those are the best leads
A skipper? Clear view of the big dipper? Ruby slipper? (I could go on) hahaha ... of course you're right, but you may have noticed: I'm kinda stubborn, set in my ways, cheap, etc etc
You're absolutely right man. I have the clogger zeros and wear them when the temp allows for it, but on hotter days I struggle with heat intolerance to balance that against the saw pants. But I should use my chaps more often at the very least
It's always good when you can get a snack while working. 😊 I noticed the ground crew was a no-show, and that's not good. Maybe you can punish the ground crew by making "them" take down the silo by themselves. 🤭😉 Good to finally see another video brother y'all take care, and may Father YHVH bless you and Melissa.
The little "flip" of the logs with the machine into the trailer is really special! Not a bad work week imo.
yeah busy but good ... gotta love the flip!
Aw man I was really hoping somebody wanted the electric tree service on a bike with solar panels running and all that there. Nice week of work!
No takers yet but I'm guessing it'll buzz to life at some point :)
I like the way you structured this video, seems like it was a good week
Thanks for that! Yeah definitely good stuff out there
Nice work. That miniskid sure is saving your back.
Yeah it sure can LIFT the big stuff
Nice work week.

Be careful with those trees my friend. The simple ones always seem to turn out unpredictable. :)
Overkill is always safe 😊 Great video. Getting it done. And a bunch o firewood. 👍
you said it man -- absolutely
Thanks for taking us along.

Great saw choice!
A ripper, as you know all too well. Ripper!
Nice week's work Spencer thanks for letting us come along ✊️
Thanks for checking it out! Twas a fun week :)
I really like this thru the week layout!
Thanks for sharing!
That's great to hear! I wasn't sure how it would work out but seems like it came together to tell the story :)
Awesome mate ❤❤❤
Big thanks!
Fun video!
Impressive, again!

@@pierogies_and_pie LOL! got me laughing on that one :)
You just having fun
Yeah that's the goal. Absolutely
Great video as always Spencer, how many quotes a week do you do on average during the warmer months?
All the best to you and thanks for sharing f

Great prune. Haha yip
Just wondering how you got your customers when you moved to New York. Other then word of mouth what gets you the most leads? Thanks

Did the silo ever collapse?
Still standing! I don’t know how
I really like the maple on the first job. It's too bad it had to go.
Yeah it sure was a nice tree. Falling branches had the homeowners worried
My friend you still need what rhymes with chipper...🤔🤔🤔.. nice work 😁😁

@@metaspencer ahhhhhhhhhhh welcome to my world 😜😜😜
Don’t want to be the safety police but I think you should seriously consider getting some saw trousers

That silo job sounds like a good idea! :) Good hearing from ya!!!
always nice to see you get high at least once per video...
LOLZ ... absolutely
Boots r holding strong. Wish the heal was a 1/2 inch taller. But there Def not as hot . ❤❤
Good to hear! yeah that heel is definitely lower than most logger boots, but you know how it is: boots and other gear is pretty personal
@@metaspencer most definitely. ❤️
