You don’t need to do all this work. I pulled my chrome front bumper off just by removing the 3 bolts on either side as shown in last part of video. After doing this pull down and out with the help of a friend and the bumper will come off very easily. You’re welcome 💯
I replaced the front bumper on my 2013 Ram 1500 but I only removed the 3 bolts connected to the frame on each side and pulled the bumper off, moved all the clips & brackets to the new bumper and re installed to the frame bolts. You don’t have to remove the lights, grill, bumper-skirt or anything els. Good video but not sure why you took the whole front end apart?
So if you are only removing the chrome section (to replace because of damage) and replacing with an original you don't actually have to remove the grill etc am I correct? Would you just disconnect the wiring and remove the 6 x 18mm bolts and the full chrome section should come away and refit with a non damaged one?
Hey there! That would probably work. When we removed this bumper, it was to replace it with an aftermarket bumper that also replaced the painted portion above the bumper. That required removing the grille and headlights too. If you're replacing the chrome part with factory, disconnect the harnesses and loosen the 6 bumper bolts so that the bumper drops a little. At that point, you should be able to see if there's anything obstructing the removal. Also, swap out the harness, sensors, and fogs, and transfer them over before you reinstall the new bumper. Way easier like that! :)
Wait...so why did you remove the grill and all that other fancy trim stuff? If replacing an OEM bumper with another OEM...isn’t just the 3 bolts on each side plus lights and sensors??
knarfluna: This Ram is equipped with factory upper and lower bumpers. And in order to take off both sections to replace with an after market bumper, you will need to gain access to all the areas shown in the video to accomplish this.
@@dougwilliams44 im New to this comment thread but to be clear, so if I'm needing to relacing the bottom half of the bumper, just the chrome section, I do NOT have to remove the grill and lights ??
Yeah im not sure cause you can just undue the bolts for the bumper and it comes off everything else isnt required inless your swapping with a different bumper design
@@findingnory i actually just removed mine for repainted on 2018 and no need for any of that there are 6 bolts that hold the bumper on and it comes right down.
@@murphygaven1 oh ok, good to know. Hey, I don't know if you remember, but could you access the outer parking sensor from underneath the truck without removing the bumper or does it need to come off to get to those sensors?
@@findingnory the sensors are pretty easy to get too especially if you put your front two wheel on ramps then just roll under there with plenty of room

So you are saying we don’t have to take headlights or front grille off ?
@@azm690 That’s correct 👍🏼
I replaced my bumper the same as you. Not sure why they took the whole front end apart?
@@scstinger5 I’m not sure why, but they’re misleading people.
I was also curious to this since they installed the headlights and grill before installing the bumper.
This is the first video I’ve seen that explains it fully. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
“Cahones Cahones” paso por paso You showed me and whoever’s watching every step of the way Cahones “I appreciate alll the knowledge you instilling

“And just remove the 10mm bold like so” *Bolt falls behind bumper* “Just like that”
Does the bumper without the fog lights have the same mounts as the bumper with the fog lights?
Hey Sergio! Yes, it does.
Is the bumper for sale i am interested in one of those
Worked like a charm, thanks brotherrr
Glad it helped! :)
If your just needing to remove the chrome part you don't have to remove the headlights. On 14 ram hemi
Good job 👍 but why u loose the 18mm nuts from the bottom of the truck ?
for an oem, would you have to swap over brackets from the bumper?
Excellent tutorial! Thank you!
What is the part called that the side valance support bolts onto @realtruck
That's exactly what I needed thank you!
Glad it helped!
where is the horn located !?
What rims and tires are those.. thanks in advance

Heidi Stange I’m wondering the same thing. Did you find out?
@@Realtruck The question was replacing OEM to OEM. Seems like many of the Grill doesn't need to come out in that case?

I wish somebody made a video on removing the front bumper on the 2009 Dodge Ram 2500
I wonder if this same process for a 2018 ram 3500
Juan Guillen pretty much
What does the white clip look like exactly?
Thank you very much for the tutorial, it helped immensely!

Better way to remove grill is stick your arm down in behind it and push outward
Why remove the all that just for the bumper

@@murphygaven1 it looks like there are bolts behind the headlights that you can't access without removing them

Don’t suppose you know how to change a headlight bulb without taking the whole front assembly apart ???
Thank you
Real question is...how many 10mm’s were lost in the production of this video? 👀
