Not to mention, getting Covid can drastically increase your chances to get NEUROLOGICAL CONDITIONS. The thing that always bothered me the most was always the Masquerade, because within the context of the series there is literally no reason for it. I'm not against the magical world hiding from the world of muggles, but there needs to be an actually compelling reason as to why supernatural entities would feel the need to hide in the first place. Take World of Darkness: Vampire for instance. In WoD: Vampire, Vampires and most other supernatural entities hide from and fear mankind because humans, when organized, have the ability to drive the supernatural to extinction, and regular humans on a war path have almost done that multiple times in the setting's history. In WoD, hiding from humans both makes sense and allows for additional lore and world building. What does Harry Potter have? "Oh, some Slytheran crotch jocky caused a witch hunt in some village back in 1248 so now we hide because we just don't want to deal with them." No shit, that's actually the reason, which has to be one of the biggest non reasons I've heard growing up. That's not even bringing up just how ignorant most of the magical world is of current events, the most baffling example being that most wizards don't even know that the world wars happened. You would think that during those conflicts, at some point, a British Mark V or a Panzer IV would have bulldozed some hobbit house by complete accident, or that an artillery shell would have gone off near Draco's granddad's home, and that's without getting into how Weasely's family has no idea what the Blitz was. It's such a massive, gaping, sucking hole in the lore that it has legit almost inspired entire settings on its own. Edit: Spaced the rant out so that it's easier to read.
@@mikementzer1622 It's been a minute, but in one of the books, I think it was either the fifth or sixth book, Hogwarts got a teacher that specialized in learning about Muggle culture, and she at one point offhandedly mentioned that most wizards know nothing about muggle affairs or history. I also have vague recollection of the ministry of magic not knowing WWII was happening until after the atomic bombing of Hiroshima, and even then their reaction was "whatever". It's been a hot minute since I've read them so I would have to go through the trouble of re-reading them. Edit: Also, just pointing this out, the fact that wizards need a dedicated primary school class on muggles just to learn basic concepts like what science is, what a steam engine is, or what stitches are kind of explains itself. It would be like if American schools had classes dedicated to teaching kids what a cheese burger is.

First of all, the way the books are written leave a lot of room for imagination. Secondly, it's been said in the books that wizards tried to contact muggles a couple of times but it never ended well, so they kind of stopped trying. Finally, the wizards have good ways of protecting hiding their world, Hogwarts, for example, looks like ruins to muggles if any of them happen to be near it. So it comes as no surprise that the muggle world is also shielded away from the wizards. Again, since there's a lot of room for imagination, I think having open questions like that is OK. It's neither good, nor bad, just a matter of personal preference. I for one always assumed that the whole muggle affairs was a popular subject for political debates and different politicians had different policies about it.
@@mikementzer1622 I can see where you're coming from as the books were intended for children and slowly transitioned to teenagers as they progressed, but I would argue that the mark of a genuinely great series is when the author takes the time to flesh out and expand lore where applicable as that lore can on repeat visitations enhance the experience. HP doesn't really do that and often times handwaves plotholes with convenience, so I'm not exactly going to cut Rowling slack and accept "The wizards have ignorance spells". Even if one accepts the premise that the world of magic possesses SEP devices straight out of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, them knowing nothing about the world of muggles and rarely having masquerade breaches still doesn't make sense when you consider that wizards can be born to muggle parents. Short tangent, but most settings would use this aspect to suggest that all humans have some level of latent magic, it's just more pronounced in wizards. Again, HP never bothers exploring that. Not only would that magic baby probably make headlines or wind up in Area 51 or something, but when they grow up they would usually remember their time amongst normal people and talk to fellow mudbloods about current events outside of the wizarding world. Heck, one of the main characters, Hermione, is a mudblood and she acts like the rest of the world doesn't exist outside of her parents. There is little excuse for the world of magic to be as ignorant as they are and they should at the very least be aware of surface level events, like the fall of the Berlin Wall (series takes place in the 90's so that would have been pretty fresh). And even if one wants to argue that mudbloods never feel compelled to talk about their nonmagical lives, any wizard who is curious could literally walk outside their home and buy a news paper, or read a book if they want to know what's happening. Sorry for the long rant, I kind of grew up reading these books and as you can see, they've kind of stuck with me.

They prefer to keep to themselves and rarely interact with each other outside of special occasions, to the point where some of them isolate themselves from everything. These wizards, despite this, still have masquerade breaches on a regular basis due to another faction in the WoD universe: Hunters. Hunters are what is says on the tin: they're regular human beings who are aware of and hunt down the supernatural with the intention of either studying it or killing it. I have a very hard time believing that a setting like Harry Potter doesn't have something similar, that a masquerade breach doesn't result in shady characters in trench coats armed to the teeth hanging around areas that might be magical on the off chance that something is there. Heck, Hunters are typically the type of people who are more than happy to explore ruins, so Hogwarts's ignorance barrier would mean nothing to them and they would probably have the firepower/resources needed to deal with trolls or most antediluvian monstrosities. Afterall, they can't cast spells and seem to be just as vulnerable as any other creature their size.

Already commented this on a different video, but im gonna repeat it. I'm a new player and I have a few questions for anyone who can answer: 1- what is a "friendly" and are they a common occurrence? My 2nd match I found a heavy with funny looking cosmetics that wouldn't attack, but instead wanted to just dance and throw these little banana things at people 2- the medic has this needle gun thing, is it really bad, or can I just not aim it because it fires slow? I've played quake and it feels like the nail gun, but it's kind of bad though 3- wtf is with no animation players? They like slide around and just stare at people. I've seen a scout and a demoman do it, an every character do that and how does it happen? 4- how do I get new stuff? Like a demoman ran at me with a claymore sword and a shield, but my demoman doesn't have those. And I've seen medics with a crossbow, engineers have this bubble thing on the turrets, but idk how to get those :( Sorry it was long and that I don't know many item names, but if any of my questions can be answered it would help me a bunch. And if anyone has any other tips they can leave them in replys
Not an avid player, but I like watching the community's vids, so I'll give this my best shot. 1) A friendly is a player that's mainly there for a good time and to goof around, not to actually win or be competitive. What you described is what's commonly known as a Hoovy, a very common type of friendly that you'll often spot in 2fort. Word of advice, don't be mean to them, they can be quite vindictive. 2) Avoid the needle guns and focus on healing other players with your medi gun, or using the Crusader's Crossbow whenever you manage to unlock it. Medic is not intended to be viable as a combat class, and is infinitely more effective when he's keeping his team alive so they can do all the damage on your behalf. 3) T-posing is something done intentionally by players just to dick around and be silly. I don't remember if every class can do it or how it's pulled off, I'm afraid. 4) You can earn it over time by playing and having it unlock certain things over time, or you can directly buy them. Others could give you a better idea of where to shop for stuff, since I've heard getting things directly from the game itself isn't the most affordable option. That said, I wanted to stop being a free to play and unlock the ability to speak in game, so I ended up just buying the Medic's full set in the game store. Took a while for the account to open up though. It only cost me like five or ten bucks or something to get every weapon available for him. Not the greatest source of answers here but I figured there's no harm in trying to help out a little bit. Hope this was helpful to some extent.
the other guy answered the stuff perfectly, but i will add onto the second point. the needle guns are, in theory, distant relatives to the Nail guns. in fact, the Scout class actually had the nail gun in one of the early trailers for the game.
1) A friendly is someone who generally doesn’t want to fight other players, instead opting to just chill in some random places around the map. They are common depending on the game mode you play -if you want lots of them, then “capture the flag” (otherwise known as ctf) is the best way to go. 2) The stock needle gun is the worst primary for medic, the other three are much better than it (although the crossbow is going to be the most reliable for medic). 3) Broken animations are just bugs that shouldn’t really affect the game (but if you want to do them I’d recommend searching up “T-pose in TF2” or “A-pose in TF2”). 4) There are a few ways to get weapons, the first way is to pay for them (dont), the second is to wait it out because the drop system is random, and the last way is by achievements (if you want to get a class specific weapon, your best chance is to do that class specific achievement).
you talking about covid at 18:40 is absolutely crazy, my fiancee was completely bedridden and could barely move for several days straight, and a friend of mine lost both of his parents to it, the illness is not to be taken lightly, you just got lucky.

First. I say this with confidence, as I saw the video 5 seconds after it came out. However, Fish may have shown it to others, and I am only the first to comment, not the first to watch. Some pufferfish can change the colour of their skin similar to a chameleon, but not to the same degree. Many types can also independently swivel their eye, useful for maintaining situational awareness. This is vital since the pufferfish is a bony fish, that is to say that it does not have cartilage but actual bone in its skeleton. It perhaps compensates by being manoeuvrable, on account of its extra pair of anal fins towards the lower rear portion of the body. That is not to say that it is not capable of a brief burst of speed; this is in fact its first line of defence, even though the fish is famous for its last line of defense, inflating itself. When a pufferfish inflates itself, it is quite stressful, for what I presume to be obvious reasons. Beyond that of course in a twist of naturally occurring mutually assured destruction is its famous toxin, TTX, or tetrodotoxin. Anyway, that's all I have to say on pufferfish. Well, not all, but I won't bore you and I can't be bothered to write a proper tie in for its Latin name referring to its teeth, and how said teeth are vital for its diet.
The Direct Hit might be the next weapon I want to get practice in (I'm currently trying to practice the combination of Liberty Launcher and Reserve Shooter (ironically, I'm better at leading shots with the weaker Liberty Launcher than the stronger Direct Hit)), because super fast rockets are strong and funny, I also want to get better at Direct Hit because thanks to the power of sound mods, all rocket launchers make different belching sounds when firing.
I'm now genuinely curious about Fish's political ideals despite that probably being a really bad idea for just a laid back friendly TF2 channel. Can always appreciate a jab at HBomberguy though, even if I can't entirely agree with the jab itself.

Here’s an idea: Make it so you can aim down those Direct Hit sights to charge up a cluster rocket that explodes as it travels(in an arch) and when it hits something it drops multiple bombs. The cost is that it ONLY takes a full clip to fire the cluster rocket. Actually that could work as a Black Box rework.
Yeah it wasn’t bad because it’s mutated by now. It’s more virulent but less deadly. The 2020 form of it killed over a million people. Should we have locked down the world to try to stop its spread? Yes. And if more people had gone along with the lockdown, we might’ve stopped COVID and influenza too.

You would think that during those conflicts, at some point, a British Mark V or a Panzer IV would have bulldozed some hobbit house by complete accident, or that an artillery shell would have gone off near Draco's granddad's home, and that's without getting into how Weasely's family has no idea what the Blitz was. It's such a massive, gaping, sucking hole in the lore that it has legit almost inspired entire settings on its own.

@@mikementzer1622 It's been a minute, but in one of the books, I think it was either the fifth or sixth book, Hogwarts got a teacher that specialized in learning about Muggle culture, and she at one point offhandedly mentioned that most wizards know nothing about muggle affairs or history. I also have vague recollection of the ministry of magic not knowing WWII was happening until after the atomic bombing of Hiroshima, and even then their reaction was "whatever". It's been a hot minute since I've read them so I would have to go through the trouble of re-reading them.
Edit: Also, just pointing this out, the fact that wizards need a dedicated primary school class on muggles just to learn basic concepts like what science is, what a steam engine is, or what stitches are kind of explains itself. It would be like if American schools had classes dedicated to teaching kids what a cheese burger is.

Personally, it never bothered me that wizards were shown to be completely oblivious of the muggle world. First of all, the way the books are written leave a lot of room for imagination. Secondly, it's been said in the books that wizards tried to contact muggles a couple of times but it never ended well, so they kind of stopped trying. Finally, the wizards have good ways of protecting hiding their world, Hogwarts, for example, looks like ruins to muggles if any of them happen to be near it. So it comes as no surprise that the muggle world is also shielded away from the wizards.
Again, since there's a lot of room for imagination, I think having open questions like that is OK. It's neither good, nor bad, just a matter of personal preference. I for one always assumed that the whole muggle affairs was a popular subject for political debates and different politicians had different policies about it.
@@mikementzer1622 I can see where you're coming from as the books were intended for children and slowly transitioned to teenagers as they progressed, but I would argue that the mark of a genuinely great series is when the author takes the time to flesh out and expand lore where applicable as that lore can on repeat visitations enhance the experience. HP doesn't really do that and often times handwaves plotholes with convenience, so I'm not exactly going to cut Rowling slack and accept "The wizards have ignorance spells".
Even if one accepts the premise that the world of magic possesses SEP devices straight out of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, them knowing nothing about the world of muggles and rarely having masquerade breaches still doesn't make sense when you consider that wizards can be born to muggle parents. Short tangent, but most settings would use this aspect to suggest that all humans have some level of latent magic, it's just more pronounced in wizards. Again, HP never bothers exploring that.
Not only would that magic baby probably make headlines or wind up in Area 51 or something, but when they grow up they would usually remember their time amongst normal people and talk to fellow mudbloods about current events outside of the wizarding world. Heck, one of the main characters, Hermione, is a mudblood and she acts like the rest of the world doesn't exist outside of her parents. There is little excuse for the world of magic to be as ignorant as they are and they should at the very least be aware of surface level events, like the fall of the Berlin Wall (series takes place in the 90's so that would have been pretty fresh). And even if one wants to argue that mudbloods never feel compelled to talk about their nonmagical lives, any wizard who is curious could literally walk outside their home and buy a news paper, or read a book if they want to know what's happening.
Sorry for the long rant, I kind of grew up reading these books and as you can see, they've kind of stuck with me.
But quickly going back to World of Darkness as a comparison, WoD has wizards and witches, and they're all Gandalf the White levels of powerful; they're essentially humans that have the ability to manipulate reality with their minds. They prefer to keep to themselves and rarely interact with each other outside of special occasions, to the point where some of them isolate themselves from everything. These wizards, despite this, still have masquerade breaches on a regular basis due to another faction in the WoD universe: Hunters.
Hunters are what is says on the tin: they're regular human beings who are aware of and hunt down the supernatural with the intention of either studying it or killing it. I have a very hard time believing that a setting like Harry Potter doesn't have something similar, that a masquerade breach doesn't result in shady characters in trench coats armed to the teeth hanging around areas that might be magical on the off chance that something is there. Heck, Hunters are typically the type of people who are more than happy to explore ruins, so Hogwarts's ignorance barrier would mean nothing to them and they would probably have the firepower/resources needed to deal with trolls or most antediluvian monstrosities. Afterall, they can't cast spells and seem to be just as vulnerable as any other creature their size.

Already commented this on a different video, but im gonna repeat it. I'm a new player and I have a few questions for anyone who can answer:
1- what is a "friendly" and are they a common occurrence? My 2nd match I found a heavy with funny looking cosmetics that wouldn't attack, but instead wanted to just dance and throw these little banana things at people
2- the medic has this needle gun thing, is it really bad, or can I just not aim it because it fires slow? I've played quake and it feels like the nail gun, but it's kind of bad though
3- wtf is with no animation players? They like slide around and just stare at people. I've seen a scout and a demoman do it, an every character do that and how does it happen?
4- how do I get new stuff? Like a demoman ran at me with a claymore sword and a shield, but my demoman doesn't have those. And I've seen medics with a crossbow, engineers have this bubble thing on the turrets, but idk how to get those :(

Not an avid player, but I like watching the community's vids, so I'll give this my best shot.
1) A friendly is a player that's mainly there for a good time and to goof around, not to actually win or be competitive. What you described is what's commonly known as a Hoovy, a very common type of friendly that you'll often spot in 2fort. Word of advice, don't be mean to them, they can be quite vindictive.
2) Avoid the needle guns and focus on healing other players with your medi gun, or using the Crusader's Crossbow whenever you manage to unlock it. Medic is not intended to be viable as a combat class, and is infinitely more effective when he's keeping his team alive so they can do all the damage on your behalf.
3) T-posing is something done intentionally by players just to dick around and be silly. I don't remember if every class can do it or how it's pulled off, I'm afraid.
4) You can earn it over time by playing and having it unlock certain things over time, or you can directly buy them. Others could give you a better idea of where to shop for stuff, since I've heard getting things directly from the game itself isn't the most affordable option. That said, I wanted to stop being a free to play and unlock the ability to speak in game, so I ended up just buying the Medic's full set in the game store. Took a while for the account to open up though. It only cost me like five or ten bucks or something to get every weapon available for him.
Not the greatest source of answers here but I figured there's no harm in trying to help out a little bit. Hope this was helpful to some extent.

the other guy answered the stuff perfectly, but i will add onto the second point.
the needle guns are, in theory, distant relatives to the Nail guns. in fact, the Scout class actually had the nail gun in one of the early trailers for the game.
1) A friendly is someone who generally doesn’t want to fight other players, instead opting to just chill in some random places around the map. They are common depending on the game mode you play -if you want lots of them, then “capture the flag” (otherwise known as ctf) is the best way to go.
2) The stock needle gun is the worst primary for medic, the other three are much better than it (although the crossbow is going to be the most reliable for medic).
3) Broken animations are just bugs that shouldn’t really affect the game (but if you want to do them I’d recommend searching up “T-pose in TF2” or “A-pose in TF2”).
4) There are a few ways to get weapons, the first way is to pay for them (dont), the second is to wait it out because the drop system is random, and the last way is by achievements (if you want to get a class specific weapon, your best chance is to do that class specific achievement).

I say this with confidence, as I saw the video 5 seconds after it came out. However, Fish may have shown it to others, and I am only the first to comment, not the first to watch.

@Lemons the only real reason people were losing their jobs here in the states is because employers refused to adapt competent sick leave policies for people who got sick with covid unless you happened to be at the top of the corporate chain. Overall suicide rates have decreased according to the Trust for America’s Health (TFAH) and Well Being Trust so I don't know what your point in mentioning that is. Although they do mention there is a level of nuance to it I'm not gonna get into that in a youtube comment.
The economy comment is especially funny cause Trump was already damaging our economy before covid hit and all covid did was exacerbate the problems both economically and socially.
