Same, when I was like 5-7 years old I remember listening to Abba because of my grandma. On my way to kindergarten? Abba. Going grocery shopping with her? Abba. I knew the song sounded oddly familiar when I heard it on tiktok but I couldn’t remember where it was from, and then someone commented the song name and I rushed here lol. It feels so nostalgic even tho I’m only 14
We played this for our Mom (her favorite song), as we said our final goodbyes to her.... Jan 24, 2017. Life hasn't been the same since. I miss you, Mom.... I wish you were here. I hope you're flying once more... and singing a new song. I love you, from the bottom of my broken heart.

Watch The Postman, with Kevin Costner. There is a scene where the warmongering people get downright ANGRY at the movie that is playing showing Dolph Lundgren. They want, no they need to watch The Sound of Music. Same thing really.
I feel like this song is the comforting and assuring hug from a maternal figure. Someone we have grown estranged or lost or have been far away from. We all have that one mom figure we either miss or we wish we had when listening to this song. May all those children who find comfort in this song regardless their age find peace and comfort and warmth in life ❤️
ABBA is absolutely timeless... excellent group. Coming from a through and through metalhead, they are probably in my top 10 bands of all time. As I saw Corey Taylor say in an interview once, "I listen to everything from ABBA to Anthrax, deal with it."

You are not the only one my friend. Props to you for being open minded. These guys were writing killer songs and had incredible production values. Those things cross genre boundaries.
Their diction is just perfect (to me) I think that's just one of the things that made abba so very good, you can hear every syllable which is not so with a lot of other bands, musicians, and singers. The harmonies are magnificent, they will never be copied with any degree of success. (IMHO)
"How the heartaches come and they go and the scars they're leaving " They actually add an extra beat there. It's brilliant how good they've made it sound even though our brains usually consider that very illogical.
ABBA has always been my number one, and this song ALWAYS makes me cry, no matter the mood. I feel empowered when I hear it, I remember everything I've overcome and it feels absolutely amazing. How can you not? Pure Greatness.

The piano at the ending..that's what true happiness feels like to me. It feels like getting what you've always wanted, it feels like falling in love or getting married to your soulmate, it feels like realizing everything is going to be okay. ♡
This very record was my first album. Bought for me by my dad's sister when I was 9. I'm now 49 and it's still lovely to listen to. My dad's now pased away and I still let this album take me back to when he was alive.
Whenever I hear this song, I think for the rest of my life, I will always think of the time little 16 year old me had just gotten my heart broken for the first time (like not even 10 minutes prior) and I had been venting to my coworker about how much it sucked, who in return was venting about his relationship problems. A little bit later on I was doing silverware and I had been for about 20 minutes, just with my earbuds in listening to sad Abba songs, and then this one came on. And all I could focus on was the sad part of it, the "in your eyes there is no hope for tomorrow" and not the "you'll be dancing once again and the pain will end" part. And then my coworker walks up next to me, also with earbuds in, and grabs a linen and starts helping me with silverware, wordlessly. And right at that moment the song cleared away to the piano part at the end and I felt like crying. Thank you, Gavin, you have no idea how much that little moment meant to me.
I remember saying..'' the future is going to be brilliant''.....Me wishing I can go back in time and stay there forever where all around me was clear and simpler....every second of this song brings back my childhood colors, aromas, flavors...sensations...you name it.!!!...
My uncle introduced me to abba in the late 90s when I was 8 we used to wake up at 4 in the morning to watch the sun rise and have breakfast and get ready to go to work at the farm he worked on sadly we lost him to cancer in 2019 he is missed everyday every time I hear this song it brings me to tears it just floods my mind with such good mood my uncle he was the best rest in peace uncle Mark gone but far from forgotten
I’m from Mexico and I just know a little bit of English and even so this song makes me cry 😭 maybe because it reminds me of my childhood when I played with my dad, now we have grown apart, I feel like he stopped loving me like before. I miss him telling me chiquitita.
Getting goosebumps hearing this again, bunch of memories listening to my mom gladly and loudly this song while doing something, cleaning, cooking, and partying with huge parties in our little house. Bunch of drunk loving friends and family singing this, tons of good thoughts coming while hearing.
ABBA, Credence Clearwater Revival, The Bee Gees… come on, special talented artists that touches multiple generations and created songs that will never die.
My mama loves Abba, I can’t help but think of her when listening to this song. She came to the states from Uruguay in the early 80’s at the age of 8. I feel the embodiment of her inner child through this song because I know she is still hurt from all the bullying and prejudice she faced, she was teased for knowing little English as well. This song has become both me & my mom’s comfort song when life gets rough and when we need to be called Chíquitita. We both fight as she’s not good at speaking her emotions, but sharing music makes up for it. I am grateful as a second-gen Latin American to have the privileges I do and I will never forget the hardships both she and my Grandma had faced. Both of them live in my heart everyday.
The sheer heavenly length of this glorious song, speaks volumes to the skill and artistry which is ABBA: they are not afraid to unfold a story over 2 full minutes longer than the average for the era - in pop music terms, half an eternity!!
All that is best in Abba, wonderful vocal harmonies, thrilling keyboard melodies. Abba's composition were a sophisticated blend of modern pop, European classical music and the folk melodies of their native Sweden.
I’m amazed by the quality of these songs. They’re from 1980...whatever, but they still sound amazing. I don’t know what equipment was used to digitalize these songs, but anyways, great job, Craig Gagné!!
I need to hear this played by a mariachi band. this is the song my mom and I shared. victims of an abusive father this was our theme Thank GOD for the replay button!
I spent an evening in a street bar listening to ABBA , n met a gentle man . They took a guess of 20 , when I was ~ 42. Love makes everything possible. I was there with my sis -in -law from the 1st marriage of my eldest bro. They had met n were head over heels in love....💭💜
Aside from the extremely catchy rhythms and clever lyrics, I think the main thing about ABBA that stands the test of time is that their songs recognize that the world can oftentimes be absolute shit, but there's always the hope that things can and do get better, and they encourage us to work on taking steps to make ourselves and the world around us just a little bit better than we were yesterday. And all while telling us we should not be ashamed of how we feel in the meantime.
absolutely brilliant song... I don't know of any abba song that I don't like/ the genius behind their backing music is simply 100 per cent fantastic.d.riddell/glasgow

The ending with the piano playing is one of the happiest moments in music. I have rarely heard another song that had such purely happy and joyful music. All I can picture when I hear this song is girlfriends skipping, dancing, running and laughing together. Just pure joy and fun!
I'm strictly a metal head (gorgoroth, behemoth,Infant Annihilator, belphagor) stuff like that. But damn I cannot deny it , abba is so awesome. Don't know why but this past month I have just been binge listening to them.
there is a lot of metalheads who really enjoy abba songs, just look at all comments on this playlist.., i know we have our own taboo of keep it only metalish but abba's musical composition were ahead of time, the songs never gets old, specially this one as a blackmetalhead too i can relate; try the spanish version of this song and lay all your love on me by helloween too
I have this CD & grew up with Abba, but never heard this one on the radio & never checked it out on the disc. But because of TT it made me curious & I've given it a chance & find I really like it. Better late than never & it's fun to discover "new to me" music to enjoy.
This song has become an odd rock for me. I was jamming to it when I left for school stoked on the morning before an exam I'd studied so hard for. It stayed on repeat as I turned around my car hearing my small town had caught fire and was under mandatory evacuation. As I drove back up the hill, the smoke blocking out the early morning sun, thousands evacuating, it kept on playing. I made it back home just in time for my family to proclaim we had to evacuate asap. I got right back in my car and was too shocked to turn it off repeat. I listened to it as I panicked in my car, trying to evacuate with the masses, and then solemnly turned it off as I received the news that Paradise, California had been leveled in under four hours due to the massively spreading Campfire. Then, that night, as I unpacked my school bag and assessed what I now owned, I listened to it again sleeping on a couch at family friends home. Now, whenever I'm sad, or down, or depressed about the situation, I put it on again and remember the emotions of that day. Not just the sadness, I remember seeing my family, hugging my friends, the joy of calling loved ones and finding out they are ok. I remember bad things happen, but you should never let that destroy who you are. Get back up, get to work, choose your life, be happy. Finding out this used to be my mother's favorite song only makes it that much more meaningful to me. Thank you ABBA
My mom used to sing me this song as a child. We had some difficult times growing up. This song always reminds me of her and makes me shed a tear for my lost childhood whenever I listen to it.
I greatly enjoyed ABBA songs in the 80s, I still enjoy them today and I am now turning 50, my son really likes the songs. He's only 18. My daughter of 10 simply loves the songs. I just don't know what it is with these songs that makes them magical and ageless.

This song reminds me of my grandmother. She was my biggest supporter. I did music as a child and into early adulthood but when depression took over I stopped. She was diagnosed with Alzheimers in 2015 and passed away in 2021. During that period I started playing for her again and it brought back a light I had been missing for a while. I also got to show her this song and hold her hand as it played. I miss her so much... ❤
when I was 5 years old my dad would play this song in the car when driving me to kindergarten. 13 years later he played this song when driving me to college for the first time. Time flies, but I will always be his chiquita ❤️

Lyrics
Chiquitita, tell me what's wrong
You're enchained by your own sorrow
In your eyes there is no hope for tomorrow
How I hate to see you like this
There is no way you can deny it
I can see that you're oh so sad, so quiet
Chiquitita, tell me the truth
I'm a shoulder you can cry on
Your best friend, I'm the one you must rely on
You were always sure of yourself
Now I see you've broken a feather
I hope we can patch it up together
Chiquitita, you and I know
How the heartaches come and they go and the scars they're leaving
You'll be dancing once again and the pain will end
You will have no time for grieving
Chiquitita, you and I cry
But the sun is still in the sky and shining above you
Let me hear you sing once more like you did before
Sing a new song, Chiquitita
Try once more like you did before
Sing a new song, Chiquitita
So the walls came tumbling down
And your love's a blown out candle
All is gone and it seems too hard to handle
Chiquitita, tell me the truth
There is no way you can deny it
I see that you're oh so sad, so quiet
Chiquitita, you and I know
How the heartaches come and they go and the scars they're leaving
You'll be dancing once again and the pain will end

I feel empowered when I hear it, I remember everything I've overcome and it feels absolutely amazing.
How can you not?
Pure Greatness.
To my dearest mother i will forever remember you with this song. i love you with all my heart. you couldn't have been a better mother to me and my brother. i wish i can express the love him and i feel for you. my UK grad school days...Abba was what we all sang and danced to late at night when we came home from the pub. so different from my LA home. miss those days
psychickitty1 great friend
The piano at the ending..that's what true happiness feels like to me. It feels like getting what you've always wanted, it feels like falling in love or getting married to your soulmate, it feels like realizing everything is going to be okay. ♡
Mhm, yes! Emotional resolution in music form, the freedom to celebrate after grief.🧡🎉
this song brings back memories from my childhood because this was my dad's favorite song.
where has the time gone?
Ariana Cardenas growing up in Europe this was so huge. I heard one song on the radio and had to listen to the entire album. What memories!
chiquittita is a spanish word that means little girl
Hehe I'm the 69th like
Where has the time gone now...
I used to think this was a Christmas song when i was a kid. That piano at the end just sounds so... merry.
it is possible because in the music video its winter.
+Ingrid 521 well obviously. we see that at the end.
+Ingrid 521 are a man or woman?
+Ingrid 521 why u got a rubix cube on your head?

ABBA is timeless, I grew up listening to them, they’re a big staple of my childhood
My favorite Abba song. Reminds me of when I was a kid
Snap! My mum, my nephew and I used to dance to it together LOL

Thank you ABBA. Thank you for the joy in my heart when I listen. I hope you four and your families live long and happy, healthful lives.
this is the song my mom and I shared. victims of an abusive father this was our theme
+bearscorpio I'm sorry you had to go through that!
hugs
Me and my mom had the same bond from an abusive father .... You arent alone friend
bearscorpio That’s funny you say that. I was just imagining murdering my father.
Amazing, you guys are so strong 💟
I’m from Mexico and I just know a little bit of English and even so this song makes me cry 😭 maybe because it reminds me of my childhood when I played with my dad, now we have grown apart, I feel like he stopped loving me like before. I miss him telling me chiquitita.
La finalé es excellente!
I think that Abba just have such a distinctive style.
Getting goosebumps hearing this again, bunch of memories listening to my mom gladly and loudly this song while doing something, cleaning, cooking, and partying with huge parties in our little house. Bunch of drunk loving friends and family singing this, tons of good thoughts coming while hearing.
i grew up listen to abba and this song was one of the various songs of my infancy. I'm happy to see that this actually is viral on tiktok
ABBA, Credence Clearwater Revival, The Bee Gees… come on, special talented artists that touches multiple generations and created songs that will never die.
BUSINESS MAN!
BUSINESS MAN!
JAPANESEEEE BUSINESSS MANNNNNN!!!!
The ending is just purely full of melancholy. Sweet, but sorrowful. Happy, but sad. Stay gold, everyone. Stay gold.
Hearing this, I miss an old departed hippie friend who loved Abba. Almost all of their songs makes me long for something - - I don’t know what.
I'm currently 5 months pregnant and this is going to my first child, I'm going to dedicate this song to my little girl. 💕
Congratulations on being a new momma 😁
Shouldn't you be dedicating your little girl to this song? ^_^
@@Lycanthromancer1 like an offering? 🤣
@@TCt83067695 There are worse things.
its all about love
The sheer heavenly length of this glorious song, speaks volumes to the skill and artistry which is ABBA: they are not afraid to unfold a story over 2 full minutes longer than the average for the era - in pop music terms, half an eternity!!
Ι am 51 years old and still i hear rock of 60's and 70's.........but i love ABBA
All that is best in Abba, wonderful vocal harmonies, thrilling keyboard melodies. Abba's composition were a sophisticated blend of modern pop, European classical music and the folk melodies of their native Sweden.
Love this one and Fernando. Anni-Frid Lyngstad was definitely a calming voice.
Le groupe qui demeure au sein des esprit, le souvenir de la qualité durant plusieurs années, de la musique suédoise.
I’m amazed by the quality of these songs. They’re from 1980...whatever, but they still sound amazing. I don’t know what equipment was used to digitalize these songs, but anyways, great job, Craig Gagné!!
They sound even better on vinyl without being digitalized.
The beautiful thing is, it wasn't digitized. This is REAL.
What's wrong with music from the eighties?
Am i the only one to think that this is one of the most beautiful song ever written?...Gorgeous and tears are very close to pop out...
IM SO GLAD ABBA IS GETTING RECOGNISED AGAIN ! I LISTEN TO ABBA SINCE I WAS 4 :>
I need to hear this played by a mariachi band.
this is the song my mom and I shared. victims of an abusive father this was our theme
Thank GOD for the replay button!
i come back here often , just to remind my inner child that im taking care of her. it is all going to be okay.
I spent an evening in a street bar listening to ABBA , n met a gentle man . They took a guess of 20 , when I was ~ 42. Love makes everything possible. I was there with my sis -in -law from the 1st marriage of my eldest bro. They had met n were head over heels in love....💭💜
I've honestly heard this song at least 200 times- no joke. It's still never gotten old. I adore this song
Voices like angels. Perfect harmony. Beautiful melody. I get tears in my eyes hearing the background music of my schooldays!
Amazing talent! Amazing harmony! Thank you ABBA! Thank you for the upload, beautiful.
I love All of their songs, but truly this one is my very favorite one of them all !!!
Depending on your mood this song will bring tears or absolute joy. Love it!!!!
absolutely brilliant song... I don't know of any abba song that I don't like/ the genius behind their backing music is simply 100 per cent fantastic.d.riddell/glasgow
..their 'fronting' music ain't bad either..
My grandma loved ABBA , we would listen to it at the farm as kids with her
Thanks for posting this,it got me to tears when I heard it,it's been so long and didn't know who sung it gave me alot and a rush of memories. My father used to sing this song to my sister when we was little. RIP papi te amo.
Your sentiments are so heartbreaking but so beautifully put..I wish you peace...
***** Thank you.
😢😢
The ending with the piano playing is one of the happiest moments in music. I have rarely heard another song that had such purely happy and joyful music. All I can picture when I hear this song is girlfriends skipping, dancing, running and laughing together. Just pure joy and fun!
I'm strictly a metal head (gorgoroth, behemoth,Infant Annihilator, belphagor) stuff like that. But damn I cannot deny it , abba is so awesome. Don't know why but this past month I have just been binge listening to them.
ddjdd wfgggb agree to disagree...Metal will always be my preference. Though I enjoy all types of music
there is a lot of metalheads who really enjoy abba songs, just look at all comments on this playlist.., i know we have our own taboo of keep it only metalish but abba's musical composition were ahead of time, the songs never gets old, specially this one
as a blackmetalhead too i can relate; try the spanish version of this song and lay all your love on me by helloween too
Trinity Irvin Wow you’re pretty cute too.
there is no way can deny ittttttt lol the lyrics
Lol. ABBA is definitely a guilty pleasure
This is more than just musical notes being played. Abba!
Outra música dos anos oitenta, completamente, para mim, inesquecível. Volto no tempo, fecho os olhos e volto a viajar nos sonhos da juventude.
i can't stop dancing, i love Abba forever and ever!!!💕💕
It sounds cliche, but they really don't make music this good anymore. It's a shame.
+Isaac Gordon Ah, Isaac, my friend, they've done enough.
+Isaac Gordon As long as we can still hear these songs, everything's good :')
+Isaac Gordon Well nowadays people aren't listening to music from Sweden.
^ unless it's ABBA
Isaac Gordon is HANDSOMMEEEEE... YEEY!
Going through a hard time right now. This piece brings out the tears, but in such a good way.
Lucia, don't worry. Courage. You ill find the good way and i hope you have a nice 2022. 🍀best regards.🙏👋👋
Hi Lucia. Thanks for "like".
Good night😴 sweet dreams ! Byby Dan🌈
One of the most underrated piano songs ever
I have this CD & grew up with Abba, but never heard this one on the radio & never checked it out on the disc. But because of TT it made me curious & I've given it a chance & find I really like it. Better late than never & it's fun to discover "new to me" music to enjoy.
There will never be another band like Abba; so amazing! Especially this song; LOVE!!! ❤️💕❤️💕💗
If there's a song by Abba, it's filled with feelings that just want to come out. I love this song so much!!!!!
My grandpa loved Abba I would play this cd over and over again singing the songs .
Chiquitita, tell me what's wrong
You're enchained by your own sorrow
In your eyes there is no hope for tomorrow
How I hate to see you like this
There is no way you can deny it
I can see that you're oh so sad, so quiet
Chiquitita, tell me the truth
I'm a shoulder you can cry on
Your best friend, I'm the one you must rely on
You were always sure of yourself
Now I see you've broken a feather
I hope we can patch it up together
Chiquitita, you and I know
How the heartaches come and they go and the scars they're leaving
You'll be dancing once again and the pain will end
You will have no time for grieving
Chiquitita, you and I cry
But the sun is still in the sky and shining above you
Let me hear you sing once more like you did before
Sing a new song, Chiquitita
Try once more like you did before
Sing a new song, Chiquitita
So the walls came tumbling down
And your love's a blown out candle
All is gone and it seems too hard to handle
Chiquitita, tell me the truth
There is no way you can deny it
I see that you're oh so sad, so quiet
Chiquitita, you and I know
How the heartaches come and they go and the scars they're leaving
You'll be dancing once again and the pain will end
You will have no time for grieving
Chiquitita, you and I cry
But the sun is still in the sky and shining above you
Let me hear you sing once more like you did before
Sing a new song, Chiquitita
Try once more like you did before
Sing a new song, Chiquitita
Try once more like you did before
Sing a new song, Chiquitita

This song reminds me of my grandmother. She was my biggest supporter. I did music as a child and into early adulthood but when depression took over I stopped. She was diagnosed with Alzheimers in 2015 and passed away in 2021. During that period I started playing for her again and it brought back a light I had been missing for a while. I also got to show her this song and hold her hand as it played. I miss her so much... ❤
Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri ! This movie is a masterpiece.
I have my older brother to thank for the love of ABBA, and especially this song. Makes me feel so much nostalgia & happiness.
when I was 5 years old my dad would play this song in the car when driving me to kindergarten. 13 years later he played this song when driving me to college for the first time. Time flies, but I will always be his chiquita ❤️
These amazing quartet of ABBA swept the music market in the eighties. Their music was out of this world, and even now young kids listen to it as "the Norm" for good taste melodic music. Agneta was the star !
This reminds me of Mexican country music, definitely inspired by it when they made this song
Especially the beginning
@@Natalieim right! It definitely has a few different genres of mexican music not just country but One thing is for sure, give it Spanish lyrics and it will just be another Mexican mainstream song lol
@@waterfallsatdawn4547 yess, in the beginning it sounds like a mariachi song and Vicente could start singing at any moment
@@Natalieim right! First names that popped in my head was Him and Joan Sebastian lol
I mean the title is Chiquitita, it could definitely be inspired by Mexican country music lol
ABBA is and will always be one of music history’s finest popular groups. They’re right there with the Stones, Beatles....not quite Elvis stature but superb. All of their music is well written, played and incredibly sung.
