BACKSTORY:
This cover has been a long time coming! Back in 2013, OMF attempted to record "Du Hast" by Rammstein. The students spent nearly a year learning the song and then, just days before the recording session, the singer backed out. As a result, an instrumental version of "Du Hast" had to be used as the credit sequence music for the kids' rendition of "Love Song" by The Cure. But back in mid 2020, Robert "Fergie" Ferguson, a professional DJ from Northern Ireland, sold his Synthesizers.com 110 Modular System to OMF at a very generous price (fergiedj.com/). This enabled the kids to tackle songs like "More Human Than Human" by White Zombie, "Acid Rain" by Lorn and finally, at long last, "Du Hast" by Rammstein!!! But since we were in the midst of a pandemic, OMF instituted over-the-top COVID precautions to keep everyone safe as can be. This project was a fantastic learning experience for the kids and a great introduction to modular synthesis. And thanks to Robert Ferguson's generosity, the students of OMF can look forward to years of learning more about modular synths and tackling a wide range of new music!

Well, these videos sound like studio recording rather than recorded in a garage. And the bat hitting the metal drum sound to me like someone hitting a huge cowbell. I work with such metal drum and hitting them produce a deeper lasting sound (almost like a gong would do). The videos are also edited like a professional music videoclip. So this girl could really be timed like a metronome or it could also be that the editor timed the frame. Don't want to diminish anyone, just saying that what we see is not an actual live performance. Well done nonetheless and it makes me happy to see kids learn to play heavy metal. Just would prefer to hear their actual live and natural performance.

They freaking nailed this! The hazmat suits, the banging on steel drums with baseball bats it all just adds to the grittiness of it, and kids! I love how instead on one drum set they made a half dozen kids the drummer. The percussionist swinging the softball bat into the drum, she is a human metronome. To have a swing that long and deliver on time I’m impressed!!

As a long time fan of Rammstein I am amazed how close you got when it comes to the sound. The specific Rammstein sound is incredibly tough to replicate and many have failed. I felt you did a good job, especially on the guitars (I've tried myself countless times to get that sound right, didn't get as close as you!)
It's so close because they used Rammstein's actual guitar track and who knows what else was borrowed.
This is the most metal thing I have ever seen! These kids are all going to grow up to be awesome.

When I moved to Scotland and got homesick after a long time, listening to the most German music, Wagner and Rammstein, helped me over it. So seeing this 9y old and all those kids play Rammstein is both ubersweet and a def. highlight.
Was at Coventry last night, a man had brought his 2 kids about 11 and 13 - they were rocking it. First time live, Rammstein were awesome.
Every person involved in doing all these is legendary and we need more people doing things like this in this world.

(treue sein für alle Tage) Ist schon schwer für einen US-Amerikaner einen Deutschen in den USA zu finden, welcher eventuelle Aussprachefehler korrigiert. Musikalisch ist das ganze PERFEKT! Wirklich gute Coverversion.
würde ich so nicht unterschreiben, Deutsch ist immerhin eine beliebte Fremdsprache in der USA... kenne inzwischen einige die Deutsch in der Schule(nicht Studiert! in der middleschool) gelernt haben... und es gibt enorm viele ehemalige Deutsche in der USA die immer noch Deutsch können(in Texas zb findet man ziemlich schnell Deutsche/Deutsch sprachige Leute...) aber dennoch für jemanden der Deutsch nicht als Muttersprache hat ist das enorm gut! problem sachen wie sch oder ie/ei sind gut ausgesprochen gewesen...

@@ooinvsaoo Could be deliberate if you think about the double meaning of that sentence (s -> S).
It sounds a bit like she has a Latino background. She rolled the R in "gefragt" at the tip of her tongue, not at the back like Till does (actually the only one he doesn't exaggerate like that) and her "alle" sound like "alye". The R in "treue" on the other hand sounds too American and of course some vowels are slightly off (Tage sound like Toge).
I'm surprised how well she pronounces the CH in "mich". That's usually a big problem for native English speakers.
