Thankyou, that is much appreciated. I do want to do an “updated review” maybe going into note detail as well as answering some Q and As about the watch. Didn’t realise how popular this video was going to be!
But you need to connect to the watch to yoyr phone to get music then the watch to the headphones and you can't do that because you can't connect both the phone and the headphhones
From what I remember, I think you MUST have it connected to a phone in order for it to display the correct time. It does it automatically once it’s connected.
For battery life I would say about a day, not the best to be honest. Even if just using it for the time you would probs have to charge it every night. Hope that helps! Thanks for watching and commenting too btw! Much appreciated!
Hi Uzair, you do indeed need a memory card to use the camera, as for the Bluetooth earbuds Ill have to charge mine up and try it out. I think you can but will have to double check for you!
I just needed a watch that would tell me when someone was calling/texting and maybe show how many steps I’ve taken. Can this watch do that without having to install a SIM card?
Yes it can indeed however you would need to be very close to your phone for the Bluetooth to stay connected and let you know when a text or call comes through! Sorry about the late reply! Ps. the stepometre isnt that great for accuracy, but it does work!
Hi Amita, sorry about the late reply! I’ve always set the time just by automatically syncing it with the phone however I’m sure you can do it via the settings in the watch itself. Have you sorted it yet? If not I’ll charge mine up and have a look for you!
I’ll have to double check but I think the app does track fitness and the watch itself does track your heart beat however I don’t believe either of them are that accurate.
Barbara24kt Hi Barbara, I actually had it on the other day so it’s in my refreshed memory! But basically you take off the back cover, remove the battery and then you will see two slots. One with a black cover and one with a metal cover - use the one with the metal cover and place your SIM card onto the connections and slide the metal thing over it. Now I have a micro sim (very small) but it still works however if you want internet on the watch then from what I’ve gathered The watch only supports 2G, not 4g like modern sims. You can still make calls etc though! Hope that helps! I’m on a stag night btw so hope that made sense!!
Hellen Gakuruh Hi Hellen, thanks for watching and commenting! to be honest when it comes to fitness watches, I’ve found that it’s better to spend a bit more as budget ones are not very reliable both in terms of data recording and battery life. Does it have to be a watch though or can it be just a fitness tracker? Watches tend to be more expensive and for one that does the job with fairly accurate readings I think you would end up spending around £80/$150. But fitness trackers can be picked up quite cheap now and are quite accurate too. Although I haven’t tested it I’ve been told good things about the Huawei Band 2 and this works with google fit too. But if it’s a watch then maybe something like the Garmen viviactive HR which is around $100. I did get another cheap fitness watch and was going to review it but haven’t got round to it yet. I’ve tried it though and I quite like it. I found it on a kickstarter website and it was only cheap ($30) but now trying to find it on the web it has gone up to around $80 which personally I don’t think it’s worth that much. Sorry I couldn’t give you a more definitive answer but basically it comes down to a few things. How accurate do you want the data? Do you want a fitness watch or fitness tracker? Do you want additional features like camera/etc. The V8 watch which I’ve reviewed in this video is nice and cheap but personally for fitness it isn’t that good. Here is a few links that may help though... www.wareable.com/sport/the-best-google-fit-compatible-apps-and-devices www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.digitaltrends.com/dtdeals/cheap-fitbit-aternative/%3famp Hope they are some use, sorry about my very long answer!
I have this watch. Depending on use really. I can get a day if I use it for calls and texts (I only check texts, the screen keyboard is very small, although a stylus might be useful, dialling numbers and using the watch's phone is simplicity), obviously like a smartphone, the more you do, the bigger the battery drain. I do use it in conjunction with a Bluetooth headset as a remote control for music playback, that impacts but not too bad. There's an inbuilt "power saver" function, display brightness, display on time adjustment, so there are options. I just press the button to see the time, then the display goes black, that saves power. Hope that helps.
Thanks for your help on answering Major Mo, that is much appreciated! 👌Totally agree with what you have said too! Just depends on how much you use the watch throughout the day!
Nice video. I'm looking to get a smartwatch to basically act as an mp3/spotify player so I can download some tracks to it and leave my phone at home when I go for a run. Does this fit the bill and what would be a better option in the budget smartwatch market? Thanks.
Hi Shane, thanks for watching and commenting! I’ll have to double check a few things but technically yes I think this watch should be capable of those things! Unfortunately however I don’t think you can have Spotify on it but you can just place all your desired mp3s onto a micro SD card and then play them from that. (like you said basically) 👌 You wouldn’t be able to make or receive calls/texts however unless you took your sim out of your phone and placed it into the watch every time you went for a run. But if you are like me you wouldn’t want to be disturbed whilst running anyways! Ha ha! And finally even though they say this watch is splash/rain proof...I doubt it really is. I could be wrong of course but it doesn’t look or feel it! So if you where running in rain you may have to keep an eye on it! So basically for an mp3 player then this can do that, it is a nice little cheap and cheerful watch but with a lot of features! I think though because it is so cheap I can’t fully trust it to be reliable, That’s the downside of it. For example even to this day I’ve still not managed to get Twitter/Facebook/internet to work on it!!! Now in terms of other budget smart watches to recommend this is where I get a bit lost I’m afraid. I’m going to be reviewing the DZ-09 budget watch soon but I’m willing to bet it is exactly the same as the V8. (From what I have seen the OS looks exactly the same as the V8)! I was also looking at the Zeblaze Thor Pro 4g watch for myself (and of course to review) as that looks very nice however at over £100 it’s no longer a “budget” smartwatch and is out of my price range! I did manage to grab a nice watch from a kickstarter campaign however that doesn’t play MP3s, it’s more of a fitness tracker really. If it played mp3s it would have been perfect for you! So I’m sorry I couldn’t be more help there. But basically if you can find the V8 watch somewhere very cheap then try it out. You haven’t got much to loose but of course you don’t want to just throw money away! However from what I have discovered, to get a fairly “ok” smartwatch that won’t go dead or malfunction too quickly then the price rises very quickly too! Hope that helps in some kind of way and of course makes sense! If not just let me know! (Apologies for the epic long reply too!!!)
Thanks for the comprehensive reply. I've looked at a couple of other options and I'll probably spend 50-80 quid for what would be a wrist-based, mp3, heart-rate monitor, distance tracker and sprint-timer. That would do me just fine. I've subbed to the channel and will keep an eye on your reviews / aff links . Thanks.
Shane Carr Thanks Shane, that is much appreciated. 👌 I think one of the best options for yourself maybe a TicWatch? The only problem is they are slightly over your budget. But the good news is that they are releasing the TicWatch 2 very soon so I’d imagine the original ones should hopefully drop in price. Fingers crossed! Now I haven’t tested one myself but from what I have heard they are good, reliable, look great and I’m pretty sure you can have Spotify on it too. (As well as google play if that’s any use)! You can get a few different models but if you google TicWatch I’m sure you should be able to find plenty of info. And I’ve always seen them on “top smartwatches” lists. If the price does go down it could be perfect! 👌
I just got one and it's worthless. The sim card only works on t mobile and it's almost impossible to connect via Bluetooth and it disconnects within a couple mins. Is there a way to fix that amd other issues stated.
Hi Alice, I think I got mine from Wish from what I remember! Its a very common watch available from most online stores but at the time on Wish it was on offer! Hope that helps!
Ilyass Douiri No I’m afraid not, no WiFi connection. But just to warn you, I couldn’t get any of the internet/Facebook/Twitter etc to work anyway! I got google to load it’s home page but that’s it! :-( Nice watch just a shame it has a few drawbacks!
Hi Dylan, apologies for the wait on replying! Their is an app that you download for the watch but it’s more of just a Bluetooth Connection app. Doesn’t really do much else I’m afraid. As for all the messages, the watch only seems to store messages it receives once it is set up/connected, It doesn’t actually transfer the rest of your messages from your phone. Basically if you received a message on your phone at 9pm but didn’t set the watch up or have it switched on until 9:05pm then the watch would only receive and store messages that were received after 9:05 and not any from before. Hope that makes sense! To be basically honest, it’s a nice watch but you get what you pay for. The battery isn’t the best and you can’t move to far away from your phone otherwise it will become disconnected. And I still can’t get the internet/twitter/WhatsApp to work on it either! :-( But in its defence, it tells the time and does do its job asking as you keep your phone nearby too!
@@mcphoney Just got one of these. This is actually what I was wondering about because it doesn't seem to do that. What's the "app" I need to download to receive msgs on watch from phone?
For the price it is a cheap but "ok" watch. Battery lasts about a day if you are lucky but for telling the time and phone calls it does the job! Hope that helps! Thanks for watching!
Hi there, sorry about the late reply! In regards to your question im pretty sure it can! Havent used it in a good while but positive it does do bluetooth calls and texts!
I like how you deliver your review and it gives me confident using this kind of cheap smart watch. thanks. I got this same problem of what to use in texting because it is very small to type. secondly, i don't know how to use social media on it because it only says "wait" and it goes back to the icon menu.
Hi Dusan, sorry about the late reply! So I’m sorry to say that you can’t add your own picture as a watch face/screen saver. You do however get three options to choose from that are automatically in the watch. To select them go to settings>phone settings>display>wallpaper>system>static wallpaper, then you have a choice of a blank screen, a purple flower or a red flower. Is that what you meant? Hope that helps!
@@mcphoney Yes, exactly. But two days ago the watch turned off and stopped working completely. How long have you had yours? Is it still working? I have already contacted the seller. Anyway, thank you for getting back to me.
Dušan Kováčik Oh no, I am sorry to hear that. Mine is still working so hopefully it’s just a one of and the supplier will swap/refund for you! Let me know how you get on! Hope it gets sorted quickly for you!
Hi there, unfortunately I cant really answer that question as I could not get any internet to work on the phone. No facebook, twitter, google etc! (Sorry)!
my self The battery unfortunately on this watch does need to be charged at least once a day. Sometimes even more depending on how much you use it. Hope that’s helps!
I suppose it depends on how much you use but with general everyday use you can easily get a full day out of it. Most people charge it everyday night if that’s any help! 👌
I was just syncing the time with my android phone. Once it was connected via bluetooth it came up on the watch as a notification "sync time and date with phone". However if that is no help let me know and ill have a little look for you! 👍
Hi there, sorry about the late reply! I’m sorry but it doesn’t have a heart rate monitor. It does have a pedometer but to be honest I doubt it’s accurate! Hope that helps! 👌
fyrephin Hi fyrephin, I’m sorry to say but no unfortunately the straps cannot be changed. Sorry! Thanks for watching and commenting though! Much appreciated! 👌
I just used the 4g sim card I use from my iphone however upon further research I do believe it only works with a maximum of a 2G sim card which is a bit hard to come by these days Im afraid.
Hi there, sorry about the late reply! Its designed to take a micro sim however i still managed to place my nano sim inside by just holding it in place and clipping the sim holder shut over it. Hope that makes sense! As for network Ive tested two different ones here (o2 and EE) so I doubt it is locked to any particular network. Cant guarantee it but I think you will be fine! 👌
Hey Sian, just letting you know I havent forgotten about you, just mad busy! Ill charge mine up and have a little play around and let you know! Can you just confirm was the watch connected via Bluetooth to a phone when trying to send a text or just the watch with the sim in it?
kiddadd I’m afraid not, or if it is meant to then mine doesn’t. When I’ve tried to look/watch a video on the watch it doesn’t recognise the video and won’t show up to select it. Shame really!
Fraid so, I’ve tried multiple file types on an SD card but my V8 smartwatch just wouldn’t show them, it would show pictures and allow me to view them but no option to select or watch a video. No probs about the fast reply! Although I must admit it is 5am here at present and I really should be asleep!! Ha ha!
kiddadd Well then for playing videos I defo wouldn’t recommend it! For a cheap smartwatch though you can’t complain because it isn’t that bad, it has basic functions, you can connect your phone etc but as the saying goes “you get what you pay for!” So most of these functions don’t work as well as you would like, the camera quality isn’t exactly the best, and I still haven’t got the internet/twitter/WhatsApp to work on it. But it does tell the time though! Ha ha!
@@mcphoney Have you tried Bluetooth your phone to your smartwatch to get WhatsApp notifications? Only can receive WhatsApp notifications. My ex boyfriend has the original smartwatch from Samsung. Its exactly the same. But there are many fake/copies now.
@Max Hart Unfortunately not. I did some further research however and I think it could be that with this watch (the one I specifically have) it only supports a 2G simcard and the one I had in it was 4G.Thats the only thing I can put it down too. However it does seem to be trying to load the internet when I try but then thats all that happens. Did mange once to get to the google home screen...and that was it! Shame really!
The pedometer doesn't work right on mine. Anyone having issues? Right out the the box, laying on the table the pedometer just keeps increasing by 7 every few seconds.
I couldn’t never (and still haven’t) got it to work. It could be because of my SIM card however as I’ve heard the V8 only supports a maximum 2G SIM card and mine was 4G. Not positive but that could be why I never got WhatsApp or the internet to work!
Ahmed Drake Hi there! Good question! I’ve just tested it out and the answer is kind of yes but mostly no. You can operate the music/video that is playing on your phone via the watch. BUT...the sound will only come through the watch. Even on TH-cam, you can change the volume or skip the video...but again only with the sound coming from the actual watch and not the phone. Tried changing the settings etc but as soon as you disconnect, you loose operating the music/video via the watch and everything has to be done via the phone. Once you connect again, the sound just comes through the watch. hope that makes sense!!!
Ahmed Drake Personally if it’s not too late I would try and cancel the order. That’s just my personal opinion of course! You may actually like the watch! For my needs however it wasn’t suitable! Especially as I couldn’t get the web browser/Facebook/Twitter to work on it either! For a budget watch though it does do the job! Tells the time and has a host of other features too! Entirely up to you really!
I've got one of these (for Christmas) you can listen to a Bluetooth headset and use the phone as a "remote". All you have to do is, once you pair your Bluetooth headset on your phone, simply select your audio channel between phone, watch and headset. It's that easy....and works a charm (it also works for calls) .I'm using an LG G6 running oreo, and I can honestly say I've had no problems with the connectivity. I'm not a Facebook /twitter user, and I use duckduckgo on my mobile or tablet, so those functions don't bother me. As a smartwatch for checking texts, call info, playing music, using as a hands free, it's excellent. My wife got it for me as a stocking filler, I love it. I'm looking for a less bulky, but similarly featured one for her as she loves it too!
Hi there, have you solved it yet? If not il Leo a bit of research and see what I can find! Is there anything in particular (file wise) you are wanting to transfer?
Have u found out an answer? If not i suggest maybe putting the files u want from ur phone onto an sd card then put that sd card in ur watch. Idk see if that might work!
Finally a English review

You can press a button on your watch that will answer the call if you are near your phone. However you will still have to speak into the phone. 👌

To be basically honest, it’s a nice watch but you get what you pay for. The battery isn’t the best and you can’t move to far away from your phone otherwise it will become disconnected. And I still can’t get the internet/twitter/WhatsApp to work on it either! :-(
But in its defence, it tells the time and does do its job asking as you keep your phone nearby too!
@@mcphoney Just got one of these. This is actually what I was wondering about because it doesn't seem to do that. What's the "app" I need to download to receive msgs on watch from phone?
Does it support zooming and typing for more clarity?
mcphoney does it have a silent mode? or vibrate even?
It defo does indeed, it vibrates and you can change the “profiles” too! Hope that helps! 👌
@@mcphoney thank u so much.. 😊👍
I'm thinking of buying one.😆
Got mine a few weeks ago what kind of sim card should I get to work with a watch?
What app did you use to connect the watch to your phone
Plz unbox v9 smart watch
Hi. Does it receive and send messages as standalone device or does it need to connect to phone first via bluetooth?
yep it receive as standalone
Guys help under battery of mine v8 there is a broken red wire for what it is??
Hi there, I’m not sure what that wire is. Did it turn up like that when you bought it?
How to know which is original V8 smartwatch and fake/copied V8 smartwatch?
Does it support zooming and typing for more clarity?
no
I want to purchase this watch should I
For the price it is a cheap but "ok" watch. Battery lasts about a day if you are lucky but for telling the time and phone calls it does the job! Hope that helps! Thanks for watching!
Where do you get the sim card
hi how to used the aniti lost for this smart watch?
Hmm i cant remeber im afraid, ill have to charge it up and test it!
Can it do bluetooth calls and texts?
Hi there, sorry about the late reply! In regards to your question im pretty sure it can! Havent used it in a good while but positive it does do bluetooth calls and texts!
Yes you can........ I got one and you can make bluetooth calls
Thanks Max! 👌
I like how you deliver your review and it gives me confident using this kind of cheap smart watch. thanks. I got this same problem of what to use in texting because it is very small to type. secondly, i don't know how to use social media on it because it only says "wait" and it goes back to the icon menu.
Do you need SD card?????
@@elishanissi5178 I use SD card. I installed it already.
How will u turn on mobile data??
@@elishanissi5178 i don't know because there is no options. The only option i saw is you just choose GPRS network.
Is it possible for u to send me a video of it.... Coz truly I don't know how to operate it... All the TH-cam videos are not specific
Can anyone please let me know if there's an updated version of this in 2022 ?
I am hearing ppl but they hear a buzzing sound along with my give when I call them over my V8 smart watch।। Anything I'm doing wrong?
I didnt have that issue myself, have you managed to solve it? Sorry about the late reply!
Can i download TH-cam on this watch?
Louie Rojo Bo I’m afraid not sorry. It’s more of a fitness watch I’d say!
Water resistance one?
Could you navigate me please how to change the clock face? Thanx.
@@mcphoney Ok, I will. Thanx for your interest.
can u use facebook or any other apps without a sim card if u use bluetooth?
Hi there, unfortunately I cant really answer that question as I could not get any internet to work on the phone. No facebook, twitter, google etc! (Sorry)!
What about battery please ?
my self The battery unfortunately on this watch does need to be charged at least once a day. Sometimes even more depending on how much you use it. Hope that’s helps!
@@mcphoney so with little words ..better mi band 4 :p
Is it a water proof or?
No
i have buy that item but no service how to fix that?? pls reply asap
Hi there, when you say “no service” do you mean you can’t make or receive calls?
You have to insert a sim card
@mcphony how long does the battery life??
I suppose it depends on how much you use but with general everyday use you can easily get a full day out of it. Most people charge it everyday night if that’s any help! 👌
@@mcphoney thanks that REALLY HELPED
@@mcphoney does the device need a phone to access whatsapp, fb and Google or can it do it individually?
It is waterproof?
No unfortunately not sorry!
I ordered a box of these and left them in the garage a few years back, now today in 2024 none of them will charge. Someone help
How do you adjust the time??
I was just syncing the time with my android phone. Once it was connected via bluetooth it came up on the watch as a notification "sync time and date with phone". However if that is no help let me know and ill have a little look for you! 👍
Thanks for helping me out MCPHONEY
Can we directly connect it with bluetooth or we have to download any app
Does this have a heartbeat monitor?
Hi there, sorry about the late reply! I’m sorry but it doesn’t have a heart rate monitor. It does have a pedometer but to be honest I doubt it’s accurate! Hope that helps! 👌
What do the 2 buttons do?
Waterproof????
mandeep kumar Most definitely not I’m afraid! Sorry!
Can you change the strap?
fyrephin Hi fyrephin, I’m sorry to say but no unfortunately the straps cannot be changed. Sorry! Thanks for watching and commenting though! Much appreciated! 👌

Oh man thank goodness you made a English review cuz other all reviews are in another language
My uncle gave me that
Mine is not getting on
How you getting in? Is it working yet?
MCPHONEY no I returned it I charged for 4 hours not working
Oh dear, definitely sounds broken! Hopefully you shall get a full refund! :-)
Where did u find a sim card nothing works in mine
I just used the 4g sim card I use from my iphone however upon further research I do believe it only works with a maximum of a 2G sim card which is a bit hard to come by these days Im afraid.
I found one on Amazon thank u for trying to help
No problem, hope it all works ok!
Thank u so much it works well
Happy days! 👌👌👌
Thanks
Can it record video?
Gilv PRO No I’m afraid not sorry. It can take pictures but not video. Hope that helps! 👌
Where can I download the firmware of this watch?
Does it have playstore
No I’m afraid not sorry! ☹️
it was awesome for me but it just randomly quit turning on and charging
hi what sort of sim card did you put in there i.e normal sim or nano sim or micro as i have a micro sim and do you know if it takes any sim network
@@mcphoneyHi thank you I have a mirco sim on 02 but it had signal but when I went to send a text it wouldn't send
Sian
Hey Sian, just letting you know I havent forgotten about you, just mad busy! Ill charge mine up and have a little play around and let you know! Can you just confirm was the watch connected via Bluetooth to a phone when trying to send a text or just the watch with the sim in it?
Does this really play MP4 videos?
kiddadd I’m afraid not, or if it is meant to then mine doesn’t. When I’ve tried to look/watch a video on the watch it doesn’t recognise the video and won’t show up to select it. Shame really!
@@mcphoney not even from an SD card? Thanks for the fast reply.
Ha ha!
@@mcphoney lol, thanks for the info, I was only going to buy the watch if it played videos. It's midnight here in Texas.
kiddadd Well then for playing videos I defo wouldn’t recommend it! Ha ha!
my does not have the sound recorder.how do i get it
Im not too sure to be honest im afraid, i still cant even get whatsapp or any of the internet required apps to work!
@@mcphoney Have you tried Bluetooth your phone to your smartwatch to get WhatsApp notifications? Only can receive WhatsApp notifications. My ex boyfriend has the original smartwatch from Samsung. Its exactly the same. But there are many fake/copies now.
Isn't that 2MP camera?04:19
Defo not a good quality camera thats for sure!
@@mcphoney yeah!
This watch made in where?!!
China
Thankyou!
Can it run Doom?
I doubt it very much but couldn't really find out as I could never get the internet to work on it!
Can you view the photos that you took
Is it supports wifi
No I’m afraid not, it does not support WiFi. Shame really! :-(
Cool so this watch uses the nano sim card
The pedometer doesn't work right on mine. Anyone having issues? Right out the the box, laying on the table the pedometer just keeps increasing by 7 every few seconds.
That's probably a good thing?
Bro stop saying CHEAP watch, this is what my bank acct can handle😔😔
For a smart watch though it is cheap! A bargain! 💪
Bummer I bought it cause it looks cool, but knowing now it’s not compatible with IOS. But really cool watch tho for 25-28$
Can i play games in this watch?
No dont think so im afraid!
can u tell me app for iphone. and what simcard to be used. -thanks
How to use WhatsApp on v8
I couldn’t never (and still haven’t) got it to work. It could be because of my SIM card however as I’ve heard the V8 only supports a maximum 2G SIM card and mine was 4G. Not positive but that could be why I never got WhatsApp or the internet to work!
hey really this watch have a browser
It does but i could never get it to work! Think it must only work on a 2G sim card.
my browser don t work, why ?
Can I work music on phone and control the music player by the watch like stop a song or get previous one ?
Ahmed Drake Hi there! Good question! I’ve just tested it out and the answer is kind of yes but mostly no.
You can operate the music/video that is playing on your phone via the watch. BUT...the sound will only come through the watch.
Even on TH-cam, you can change the volume or skip the video...but again only with the sound coming from the actual watch and not the phone.
Tried changing the settings etc but as soon as you disconnect, you loose operating the music/video via the watch and everything has to be done via the phone.
Once you connect again, the sound just comes through the watch.
hope that makes sense!!!
@@mcphoney yup got it xD . I just ordered a one , I won't regret right ? I mean it's cool ?
Ty man ^^
Ahmed Drake Personally if it’s not too late I would try and cancel the order.
@@mcphoney I just need the calls only and notifications from messenger and whatsup. Will it work ? :( 💔
How to transfer files from phone to smart watch
Hi there, have you solved it yet? If not il Leo a bit of research and see what I can find!
Is there anything in particular (file wise) you are wanting to transfer?
Have u found out an answer? If not i suggest maybe putting the files u want from ur phone onto an sd card then put that sd card in ur watch. Idk see if that might work!
