I was fired from a Marriott franchise because I got the owner's buddy's wife in trouble. She was the absolute definition of a nepo-baby, ruined any hotel she was put in, and refused to do even the minimum amount of work. But she pushed out a rich guy's crotch goblin so she got away with it. One time a drunk and high crazy woman was threatening to shoot me (the front desk person) and I tried to call my boss. Then her boss (the entitled nepo-baby) only to find out my boss was even more high and drunk than the guest and couldn't help me, and nepo-baby refused to put her phone number in our system to be contacted for emergencies. They fired me for PAYING to stay in a room while I was off duty and having my period. They claimed I 'damaged company property'. The lawsuit is pending.
Not the craziest but very impactful. Worked at a huge casino hotel in my area(not vagos) and a patient passed away in their hotel room. Their family came the morning after, my coworker and friend had lost his dad within the last few weeks, one of the guests family(daughter I believe) screamed when she found out. That wail has stuck with me and my coworker was set off and had to go home. He 2as inconsolable.
