Some good more subtle tips here for better finishing..A good useful series of videos all round, as knowing the basics is not always enough to garner real satisfaction !

EXCELLENT set of videos! I have re-plastered a room (replacing gypsum based plaster) in my Victorian home using the methods and products taught here. Everything worked brilliantly. Funny thing: I have an aluminium hawk and when I was plastering the finish coat, the hawk was fizzing away! some sort of chemical reaction. I thought I was going mad all day hearing a leaky pipe, or my ears going bad, until I figured out what it was :-)

What paint did you use on the lime plastered walls?

What Lime plaster did you use? And how easy was it to learn to plaster with? Aiming to try this myself :)

I had the same when using finishing plaster (I suspect due to the higher lime content). Have since changed to an ABS hawk. The bubbling is hydrogen I believe, it is a known reaction between Aluminium and Calcium Hydroxide. You are essentially etching the aluminium hawk.

Englishman French putty mate you can make it yourself by mixing powdered lime and water to the consistency or creme cheese and leaving in a container for a few months, the longer the better

I have an nice victorian house solid wall and it is plastered with gypsum based plaster. It is possible to apply lime plaster over? or I have to remove all the gypsum plaster? Or I have to remove also the render and start from the brick with lime render?

No point in plastering over gypsum with lime... the gypsum isn’t allowing the wall to breath... if you don’t have any damp issues, then leave as or skim with gypsum.
If you want to lime plaster to help with damp, the remove the gypsum.

Natural Hydraulic Lime is just lime (aka calcium hydroxide) and sand (or other inert fillers) ... adding WATER makes it then harden to calcium carbonate. There are 3 grades of Natural Hydraulic Lime (NHL) NHL 2, NHL 3.5, and NHL 5 .. 5 being the strongest.

Can you tell me what type lime is used for smooth interior smooth finish over drywall if I cannot buy your product here in USA?
I used to build and did buy the material for the plasterers and I bought dry bags that were mixed in water overnight and screeded next day. Plasterer would mix gauging in as they used it to set up.
If textured they mixed in Silica sand.
Any idea what type dry lime I would need if for going over interior drywall?
    Appreciate very much.
    Great video.

I know. I do this day after day as I am a lime plasterer. I never wear eye protection but I have had some in my eye and it is not very nice at all if you can’t wash it out quick enough!
