Thanks for the great interview. Jonx really is an "ambassador" of sorts for the 3rd party developer community. He has supported a very vibrant community that helpfully shares knowledge about the SDK. So he is very true to his words here. It's a much more collaborative than competitive environment. It is very encouraging to hear that Asobo and Microsoft are so invested in improving the SDK. This is nothing but good news for addons.
I'm always late to the show, but this is truly oustanding news. Thanks for reporting with two of the best up and coming partners. Excellent insight to the future of MSFS.
Thank you for bringing this. Backcountry flight is what I like, and the Wilga has been my plane. I can't wait for the Draco. It's the reason I got a Wilga, in the first place.
I have 2020 and spent a lot of money on all flavors of mods. I am sure 2020, and the entire ecosystem will now die, not even slowly but fast. That is fine if this will help bring something so revolutionary. But in reality, it will take years for the new platform to reach the same maturity as 2020. The idea of a new simulator can be amazing, but it involves many critical risks. I'm not sure if Microsoft will navigate those risks in the best way. All that we can say now is good luck. I alrrady booked the top-tier version as a sign of commitment and waiting for Microsoft to do their part properly.
Aircraft, often designed and published by others, that can be separately purchased and used in the game (sim). This is opposed to Freeware, which is essentially the same thing, but it costs nothing to download it and install it in the game; and Default aircraft which come already installed and available in the game.
Exactly. They managed to add a lot of features that nobody cares about but apparently didn't care to look at obvious problems: 1) the flight model 2) stutters 3) textures, vegetation, and objects in general popping in in full view No-go for me.
@@DaveJ6515 i don’t wanna bash on asobo but they need to start focusing on fixing visual things that can break realism immersion like pop ins, morphing etc
I hate the autogen buildings (they look just as bad as the buildings from FSX and previous versions). It breaks the immersion when flying lower when everything looks fake and doesn't resemble the real buildings. They need to pull data from Bing Streetside images with AI to improve stuff.

What does Payware aircraft mean?

the vegetation loading in (popping in) looks so bad, i hope asobo renders this way earlier and from higher up at release.
Doubt

@@FinalLightNL I agree. Like the stutter on short final.

7:54 this area still looks ugly though
It'll get better with the updates they'll continue to do after release.
