I have to say, I love Diddy. Most of my experience is playing against this character with King K Rool (I think the matchup is like 55/45). THE MONKE!!! Love this content, and I gotta stop by a stream but, probably sometime in July bc I’m gonna be on vacay
I could be wrong, but if you try to go directly horizontal with Diddy recovery, you will get bonk. I believe it is possible to curve down at an angle to snap to ledge, but it's generally easier to curve it up towards ledge. Again, I could be wrong, but bonk
You can recover directly horizontal but the problem is that Diddys ledge snap only happens with his top hand. So if you collide with the ledge in a way that you’re above the ledge snap box but still with enough speed to collide with the wall, diddy will just explode. Additionally there’s a short amount of time after getting hit where you can’t snap to ledge. So if you get knocked off stage and recover really fast diddy will just run into the wall and blow up. As a diddy main It’s really annoying
Good matches! Diddy is definitely a fun character to play. Though, not always a fun character to play against...especially as a heavy.

When you see Diddy Kong not grabbing ledge while still in the rocket animation, you might be a bit miss placed. you need to stop holding a direction with joystick. Or 09:56 can happen.

Diddy is by far my least favourite character to play against. Stupid monkey flipping around and chucking his peel in your face
I don’t blame you, he’s in my top 5 least favorite MU. If they hold the banana and shield, or just monkey flip in safe ways, you are basically donezo for most matchups. And don’t forget he also has crazy combos and some 0-to-Death setups.
