Since you only glue a piece of glass to the opening you cut out , how about the inside look? Don’t you need the window seal? Or any kind of rubber liner around the edges ?
You can put one in yes, for our first window install we put it in but didn't like the look of it so didn't buy one for this window. Since we are covering it up anyway with a windowsill it doesn't matter 👌
Hey guys are you going to install side bed flares too? I’ve checked the US prices it’s about 2000$ and here in Germany it cost from 600€ for a pair. Could you guys find more affordable price for a set?
We thought about it, but in the end, we decided we weren't going to get them because 1) stealth factor, they do look a bit weird and 2) Even though it does make the van wide enough to sleep width-ways, we felt quite claustrophobic when sleeping in a sideways bed in Scandinavia. So it wasn't a good option for us. But I did have a look at the European market for side flares, your price of €600 seems about right, for websites that display their actual prices, otherwise its "contact us for a quote" and we all know that = expensive! It seems the cost includes them actually installing it as well, which is pretty good, for the actual parts I couldn't find them being sold individually, so whether a DIY install of these flares is possible, I don't know, but its definitely difficult to find.
There are standard windows already manufactured (for most make and models). We bought ours from VanPimps. Just type your van make and model and then window in search. What we have installed is a bonded window
The cut out in the nozzle goes at the front that way the bond comes out in a nice even bead as intended instead of your special way . We have been wondering how bond was applied like this but you have enlightened us I would also like to say Its always a great idea to know what you are doing before you film any how to guide But It did give us all a great laugh
Maybe we will, maybe we won't we called them multiple times and each time they have changed their answer. We're not having vinyl graphics on the van anyway, so eh...what are they going to do? 😂
@@FreedomStrider Mels Van World... think that's what it's called, he is going to put graphics on and then take them off. There is nothing to stop you doing this. I understand that insurance companies are insuring as a campervan with photographic evidence. If this is true, then there is no need to DVLA it. The only downside is speed limits. My van (& yours) will cruise all day at 80mph, but 60mph is much kinder on the van and wallet. What does it matter, the police are useless unless they are on Covid over time rates.😂
Just when I thought it was a while since you've uploaded a video. (Hence the comment I just made)
We missed 1-week release due to the world going a bit loopy - had to help some friends get to the airport to try and get home... its been mess 😱

Does the glass need to be custom made for the size. Where did you get your glass? Thanks

next time you bond a window in why not try the nozzle the right way round ?
The right way around?

If you want to DVLA your van, you will need another window on one of the sides.👍
