Oregon and OSU, should be on top. With PSU and USC as contenders. MSU is the B18 wild card to take seriously-Johnathan Smith knows how to coach. USC will be good on offense and better on defense. That combination makes them formidable. Can’t wait!!!✌️
That's going to be a salty USC defense. You effectively had good talent managed as poor as one can manage last year and this year some of the best D-coaches money can buy with even better talent. My only concern is the interior D-line play and personnel. I'm not worried about the offense, CLR will have it running like it usually runs come fall.
I predict Wisconsin is going to be a top big 10 team this season. They are really good. Illinois won't do as well, will probably be at the bottom like they were last year. They do have some standout players but it won't be enough.
@@BigTenTed I base my poor opinion on the fantastic game Wisconsin gave LSU in the ReliaQuest Bowl - if that's how well they play this season they are going to be very competitive.
Illinois has had 15 head coaching changes since Ray Eliot retired in 1959... Most schools have had 5 or 6 different coaches... with the exception of Mike White, coach B is the best we've had in 60+ years...
Other names that stick out Ron Turner, Ron Zook. Both had one good season but not sustained success. Mackovic had a couple of good seasons + Big Ten title before he ended up at Texas.

If you know ANY Illinois FB fans (which is difficult because they are rare), you'll know that they all have one oft repeated saying in common: 'We're Illinois, and we aren't allowed to have good things. We are only allowed to have winning seasons once a decade - usually when our newly hired coach is in his 3rd (or maybe 4th) year... After that it's downhill again until he gets fired... and we start the cycle all over again...
@@BigTenTed Yes it will definitely be tougher now that we've added the 4 PAC12 teams... but it can still be done... IF (big if) the fanbase can stay patient with Bret, I think he'll at least keep us 'respectable' and competitive... I think the 6 win plateau for bowl games will change, and I think several of the minor bowls may just go away... CFB is changing dramatically as you know, but think my alma mater will still be a player...

@@joeedge576I've heard that before haha. Hopefully 2022 wasn't Berts good season, but with an expanded and more difficult Big Ten it will be tough.
