There are specific times that I probably could have gotten a disability lawyer involved but I didn’t have emotional bandwidth at the time to deal with it. But standing up for yourself. Being an advocate and knowing your rights is so important.

Monte is so precious 💕. Loved this episode btw. It still amazes me what "able bodied" people consider OK when they encounter a service animal. When I see someone with a service animal I look around me to find a route to get out of the way. I look forward to the upcoming content.

Can’t believe your school or the mail lady, that’s really nuts. Food is my SD’s weakness so I think she may have ate the pepperoni lol.

Yay Monte, loved his distractions, lol. I have to leave my livingroom closet door open bc of my cat. She scared the crap out of me while I was in the shower, pushing on the doors...it was so loud that I thought someone was trying to break into my house.

Depending on the treat, not only are they distracting the dog but they also risk getting the animal violently ill; which then affects both of you.

People do weird thing around service dogs had a lady one time basically trap me in the bathroom to tell me that I was abusing my dog and that the poor girl should be saved luckily someone else came in which allowed me to escape but being blind that is scary

I like the merch. I got a brain injury. Its really hard in this world when you cant keep up in the brains department. If its a short time it seems to be okay but trying to work is impossible. I can't get on disability because its an invisible disability 😢

I had a similar situation to ur first story.
My service dog and I were at a public access location and we were looking at something and when I was done I looked back up and this lady and standing there staring at me and said that my dog and I looked miserable all because my service dog had her service dog gear on, including her shoes (this was on a 90° summer day).
I told her she is the only one being miserable here harassing a service dog team for no reason.
She antics continued, and she ended up getting herself banned from the location.

Until I learned the rules with this I would ask to pet them but I always asked. But once my family had service dogs for various reasons I knew the rules like the back of my head and I got mad when others miss treated the use of a service animal after that.

You may want to reorder the playlist of your podcast in reverse direction. If someone wants to listen to all episodes in one go (or at least more than 1 episode at a time), it starts at the top and automatically jumps to the next one down in the list, so currently, it will start with the most recent episode and goes back in time. Just a thought, because I just now found the podcast and listen to it every now and then 🙂

Thanks for sharing this great video keep up the good work! Do a video on books, movies, or TV shows. I will share I have epilepsy and thankful its under control with meds. I always wanted a service dog just incase I have a seizure out in public, but idk how it works never looked into it.

I believe your life navigations would be easier if it weren't for the people who try to use/abuse the service animal allowances. Having to deal with them (I was a teacher) makes us more cautious (and probably overly so) when dealing with legitimate situations. I'm glad you are educating us all...even though I'm pretty sure the system abusers don't recognize themselves and won't change what they are doing.

Shocking either the pepperoni. And some of these were just total rude to ask.

I was gonna ask you once if the podcast was your height or bonus foot because of your leg length! I'm 4'9 because of the rod in my back.
